Inside Disney, an opening date was just announced for the Magic of Disney
animation in Hollywood Studios. Yeah, guests can enjoy all the new
experiences starting September 14th. Dozens of new adventures will be under
that iconic sorcerer hat. You can step into the whimsical world of drawn to
Wonderland. It's an immersive playground inspired by Alice of Wonderland and off
the page. Yet there you can meet some of your favorite Disney characters
learn how to draw with Olaf and even catch a short film. Now you're really
taking an area that desperately needed something. It's getting the investment
and love that needs and what better way than to honor that actual feature
animation building that is still there today. And while we all wait for the
animation courtyard to open in the meantime, you can go enjoy the new
Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse live. Meanwhile, at Animal Kingdom, you
don't need a passport to experience the Australian Outback Jumping Junction
just open. Say that 10 times fast. You can meet kangaroos, wallabies and learn
more about those fascinating creatures. Fox 35 Stephanie Balfamante hops into
the brand new adventure inside Jumping Junction. You could see just how close
you can get to these incredible kangaroos. We're just hopping about or
maybe taking a nibble of their breakfast. It is absolutely so amazing
to be so up close and personal as you learn all these facts about them.
Good day, mates. Let's jump into a new adventure inside Conservation Station
at Disney's Animal Kingdom. These guys have some really fun names. So a group
of kangaroos or wallabies is a mob. An individual male will be called either a
boomer or a jack offspring or joeys. And then females can be called flyers or
jills. Trail guides will walk you through the path inside Jumping
Junction. During this new Australian wildlife experience, you'll see
wallabies, kangaroos and their little ones. You guys can see this is one of
our joeys on the other side of the pathway. That's mom in front of her and
the joey behind mom. Animal care manager Maggie says most of the
kangaroos development happens while inside mom's pouch. A female kangaroo
is very early on in that development of a joey. You won't know until that joey
starts to move and you can see that pouch movement. So we actually had
three animals come in that we did not know had joeys until we started to see
pouch movements while they were in our quarantine area. So that was very
exciting for us. On your adventure, you'll spot two western gray kangaroos,
10 red kangaroos and six wallabies. All of them came from other A. Z. A.
Accredited zoos. And if you're wondering how the animal care team
tells who's who, if you look as we walk past her left ear, she has a
little bit of a notch almost towards the tip of her ear. And that is a
really great way that we will identify these animals. You'll also learn how to
spot the differences between these marsupial mates. The biggest difference
between kangaroos and wallabies is going to be their size as well as where
they're naturally going to be found. For example, kangaroos, they're going to
be found, like I said, more in wide open spaces. They're going to be more
grass grazers, whereas the wallabies are going to typically be more shrub
grazers. As for the animals that used to call this space home, some have been
thoughtfully rehomed to other facilities and others didn't go too far
far away. Some of the animals are donkeys, Jack and Jill in particular.
They actually didn't go too far. They're still here on Walt Disney
property and continue to be cared for by our animal care teams. With this new
experience, Disney hopes guests leave with more than just memories but are
inspired to help protect wildlife. Having the inspiration and the chills
that you get when you're up close and personal with an animal, it's something
that you will chase the rest of your life. Having the ability to actually
share space with animals, it's just lets you connect with them on a
different level. And here's a little insider magic. The best time to catch
these animals that they're most active is between eight and nine in the
morning. Reporting from Disney's Animal Kingdom, Stephanie with Monty Fox 35
