Yeah, it's pretty warm and muggy out there and it's going to stay that way
really through the next few months, honestly speaking, in the middle of the
summer in the south. But as we take another look at Atlanta Stadium, things
are really starting to pack in. You can see all of the spectators starting to
make their way into route on their team than our final match here in Atlanta. As
we move through the rest of the day, we're going to stay mostly dry, but only
mostly we are expecting some hit or miss showers, maybe an isolated storm. A
pop their way up right over the stadium. So that's where we want to watch out
for that risk. But any sort of storm that pops up overhead really isn't
looking to last too long. Just dump some water and then move on out. So
that's the good news there. At the moment, we're still pretty dry, at least
at the airport. Quite a bit of cloud cover 86 degrees. But with dew points in
the lower to middle seventies, it's going to feel very sticky, very muggy
out there. We have light winds coming in from the west northwest at seven
miles per hour. Those winds aren't going to cool you down too much,
unfortunately. And in the last 24 hour, we've received just under an inch
of rain. But yesterday, as a total, we got just over an inch and a quarter. So
we've got a good amount of rain with those storms that pushed through
yesterday. In the meantime, let's take a look at these temperatures all across
north Georgia, where most of the areas in the middle to upper eighties were
seeing 88 in Eatonton as well as in Covington, 86 in downtown Atlanta. Same
goes for over in Athens and down in Thomaston. Even up north in the high
country were pretty warm at 83 degrees up in Blairsville. But of course, these
are just the air temperatures, which by themselves really aren't too bad
staying in the eighties. This time of year is actually below average, but
it's that dew point that's gonna get you. That's what makes it feel pretty
hot out there. As we take a look at these heat indices all across north
Georgia, it feels like 99 degrees in Covington. It feels like 95 in
Eatonton, and it feels like 91 in downtown Atlanta, Athens, Griffin,
Thomaston. So it's gonna continue to be pretty warm as we go through the
rest of the day. Now, let's move over to our viper radar, where you can see
again. Most of north Georgia is actually dry, gloomy but dry. You do
want to watch for those pesky little pop up showers. A few isolated storms.
Things were used to this time of year, but could still, you know, rain on your
parade. As you take a look at where these storms are, you can see they're
very brief, very isolated. So this is more of what I mean where, yeah, these
areas are getting a quick little downpour, but they're not gonna last
too long, and they're really not gonna do too much damage. This is something
to take note. If you're near Lake Lanier, you don't want to be in the
storm, or you don't want to be in the lake right now because we do have a
couple of showers overhead. They're not technically storms since we don't have
any lightning or thunder, but still, you don't want to be in the water right
now, unfortunately. Now, other areas getting these couple little downpours
as we zoom into Metro Atlanta, we're seeing a couple of little shower areas,
one near Smyrna. We don't have a whole lot downtown, but you can't rule out
maybe a couple of sprinkles anyway. And then as you go toward the south, we
have some fewer showers, not quite as wet to the south, but we have a couple
of little showers, one near McDonough. You can see pushing his way through
Henry County and then going down through Barnesville here, a couple in
Thomaston and Greenville. They're pretty light out there. So as we go
through the rest of the day, you're planning your Wednesday and maybe maybe
going out to watch our final local match. Well, we're gonna look for those
temperatures in the middle to upper eighties for our afternoon highs, some
hit or miss showers, a few isolated storms. Don't let this make it look like
it's gonna be a washout, like it's gonna be raining completely for a few
for all the way from three until seven o'clock. That's not the case. This just
means you have a chance for a shower or a storm overhead between these hours.
And we can paint that picture more clearly as we take a look at our hour
by hour forecast here through the rest of the afternoon into this evening,
especially when we hit our max heating around 456 o'clock. That's where you
could see a couple of storms pop up and a couple of those could be around
downtown Atlanta. So you do want to watch for those shower and storm
chances. The good news, though, again, nothing is expected to last too long,
and we're not expecting anything to become severe. Everything starts to die
out by around dinner time. By time we're heading to bed, we're gonna be
mostly dry. And as we take a look at the next few days, well, today we're
gonna stay in the eighties, and today we have the largest chance for a shower
or storm overhead. But over the next few days, those temperatures rise back
into the low nineties, which is right where we're supposed to be this time of
year. But take a look. We only are looking at slight rain chances over the
next few days. That means those very hit or miss isolated showers and storms,
the largest chances being Friday and Saturday. But outside of that, we're
looking to stay pretty warm and dry out there, Tyler.
