Video Summary
AI GeneratedHank and Wiley from Hamiltonville Farm attempt to revive a 2004 International concrete truck that has been idle for 20 years. After replacing the batteries and troubleshooting electrical issues, they successfully start the Cummins ISM engine and verify that the mixer drum and auxiliary systems are fully operational, saving the massive vehicle from being scrapped.
We find old equipment everyone else gave up on and today we're trying to bring this old concrete
truck back to life. It's been sitting 20 years and the owner says it'll never run again. If it fires,
we're going to drive this thing out of here. If not, it's going to get scrapped. Will we be able
to save this old concrete truck or will it return back to nature? How about you? I'm Hank. Welcome
to Hamiltonville Farm. I got Wiley with me today. What's up buddy? Hey, how you doing? What you got
us into brother? You know of all the things we started, I don't think we've ever started a
concrete truck. I don't think we have. And I think it's a concrete truck, not a cement truck.
Well, we're going to call it cement concrete throughout the day I think. Yeah. So whatever
the correct terminology is, then that's we're probably going to goof it up. The sticker on
the door said 20 years. I'm not sure. I'm sure he bought it from auction, right? Probably did.
Is it for sale? It is for sale. I don't know a price yet. Maybe by the time you get it edited,
if I have a price before this video comes out, I'll put it across the screen right here.
And then you can contact me at Hank at Hamiltonvillefarm.com and I'll get you in touch
with them. And this may be the biggest truck that we've ever tried to start. I don't know
of a heavier duty truck than this. Well, it has to be to carry that much weight on the frame.
I wonder how much weight. Yeah. And I wonder how many yards that is.
I thought I saw a sticker in there. It said 10 tons. So 20,000 pounds worth of concrete in it.
Okay. And then however much the truck weighs. I mean, it all depends on what size yard you got.
You know how many feet are in a yard? It depends on how many people stand in it.
How do you pronounce that Wiley? Nally? Naley? I would say Naley. Yeah. I was thinking like
Nally because it was like Valley, but I could be wrong. It could be Nally. I'm also a product
of the North Carolina public education system. We'll go either way on it. Yeah. Oh, international.
Right. Well, look how massive this thing is. There's nothing small about it. You know what?
There's nothing small about it. You know why they got that there for real? I mean,
like for when they get, because they go into some places and pour concrete. That thing has
to get pulled out. That yanked out of there. It's got to do. Sometimes they'll sink. They'll
get in a bad spot. I've seen it on the YouTube there. And it has to be true if you've seen it
on YouTube. Got to be. Firestones. Big, big rig. Yeah. Oh, I was going to say that's a fuel tank,
but I don't think that's a fuel tank. That's water. Got to be water. I would think so too.
Wash that with. Yeah. Yeah. Any cement drivers? It ain't got to be water Hank,
but I'm going to give it water. Yeah. Any of you guys running cement trucks, concrete trucks?
Let us know in the comments, but yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. So gallons here. So it's 125 gallon tank
and a 480 liters for my friends that use the metric system. A couple of valves to turn it
on and off with. Yeah. That's a freaking cool dude. I want to get all the concrete out of it.
Oh no. It sounds empty. Got some rollers up here. Now Wiley, ain't there something to do with like
is it the slump, the wetness or something like that? Ain't that got something to do with. I don't
know much about concrete. Me either. And there's like fiber, like you have to use. Oh yeah. Well,
I know you had a fiber in there and they got concrete's changed so much over the years and
got really expensive if you bought any later. Well, me and Wiley built a pole barn in my place.
Wiley, what was that? Four years ago, maybe something like that. And I paid $8,000 for
that floor, that concrete floor. Something like that. It would be way more than that. Oh yeah.
It'd be $12,000, $16,000 now. Fiberglass fibers, I think. I think so. I poured a concrete that
put fiberglass fibers in it on my shop many, many years ago. Yeah. But ain't that like you don't
have to use rebar if they do that? Something like that. Something like that. I don't know.
But maybe we should have done a little more research for it. Maybe so. A couple of hooks
here. That's so you can chain up your 300 pound girlfriend and pull her out of the buffet.
And then a little sliding board here. You put that beside the swimming pool and come on down
with it. Yeah. Yeah. That's just a massive machine. Here is the controls, I guess, to
run the throttle, the hopper, the chute. You lock the chute and the drum, discharge charge.
And then there's, I guess that's a safety stop, maybe SS. Would that be safety stop?
Maybe, huh? I just can't believe that somebody is not going to buy these things. Maybe they're
out of date. Maybe it's time for them to go overseas. I don't know. Oh, that's a good,
yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. Maybe, maybe so where the standards are a little more relaxed.
Yeah. But it is a big machine. SRM. That's a, what's that? Selma or ReadyMix?
I don't know. It's a dose of number. Remember? Smyrna. Smyrna ReadyMix. Yeah. There's no way
this thing is not going to start. He's not putting this thing in the scrap yard. No,
this thing right here is going to fire right up, dude. I wonder why they got that one
station in the wind. Oh, I don't know. I wonder if the wind helped come through there and give
it more power. The turbo, that kind of helps the turbo. You want to see what the inside looks like?
What's it got? Let's see. Let's look at this. I hope ain't no wasp up in there.
66,000 pounds on the gross vehicle weight. That's a lot. Man, that is a lot. That's a lot on a
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. It's a 2004 model. 22 years old. Yeah. There's that stick I was looking at.
Yeah. Look here, 10 and a half cubic yard mixer, maximum capacity. Okay. So 20,
20, I don't know how, I thought it said tons when I first looked at it, but it's actually
20 and a half yards. Yeah. I'm trying to see if it's actually 120. Oh, that's the water tank.
We already looked at that 125 gallon capacity, 473 liters for my European friends. I'm trying
to look, see if there's any wasps in here. It's that time of year. Yeah, I know it is getting hot
in here. Wiley, have you been up in here yet? This has got some kind of pressure gauge here.
This controls how you're doing, I imagine. So you got constant speed, unlock the chute,
shoot down, up and down, start, stop, discharge. I don't know what that means.
Oh, you scared me to death. Is it locked? It seems to be. Hold on a sec. I didn't see you
walk around. Oh yeah. I haven't been up in here, but I want to. That's right. Working lights,
hopper, tag up, pusher up, bridge master. I don't know what that means, but let me ask you
something, Wiley. Why does that look like, so, uh-oh. This is an insurance card from 2006. This
is where we get our information from. Yeah, 2006. Yeah. 20 years. Why does that look like it still
has, like it's highlighted? See that? I do. Make sure it ain't got power on it. I don't know if
it's powered or not, but my name's not sure. That thing's got AC on it, man. It's going to fire
right up. Heated mirrors? Are you kidding me? Cruise? Man, we're going to get that drum rolling.
Oh my God. Why don't we turn it on and we can't get it to stop?
We're going to run. Eating transmission.
Man, that looks like an extra fuel cap right there. I don't know what that is.
Yeah, some kind of gauge. Oh yeah. Yeah, it's got some kind of, oh, a slump indicator. Slump,
that's what we were talking about earlier. Yeah. So that slump is, what does that mean? I don't
know, but ain't it like a five or six, seven, eight, 10? The slump? No, I think it's the
wetness of it. Oh, okay. Yeah. I think it's the wetness of it. Again, I'm not a concrete guy,
but it might not crank it. The air horn don't look like it's working. All right.
I see a problem already. What's that? I don't see a key. Yeah, I don't either. I have to
see. Let me look around. Oh, there we go. There we go. Now is it the right one? What
truck number is this? I don't know. Let's check the vitals. Is it 538? Well, I have to look and
say. I say it's a key. Let's see if it's a key. Yeah, it is. Okay, let's check the vitals.
We might have to get on each side. Yeah. Let me set this up here so they can see my
brute strength from afar. Y'all see that? All right, here we go. You ready? Yeah.
Looks like it's got the cables on it. Yeah, I see them. Come on. Perfect. Perfect. All right.
Bet it's got a Cummins in it. That's what it is. It's going to be like an M14
or something like that. See how wide that head is? It's an SMC. Where? Yeah, ISM. Yeah. Okay.
In search of men? Could be. Could be. But, man, this thing's going to bust right off.
I mean, look at that. Yeah. Yeah, it looks in great shape, actually.
Let's see what the oil looks like. Oh, we got to see that oil. Come on, driver. Looking good.
Thanks to YouTube, this engine did take place in the M11. Oh, did it? Yeah. All right. So,
I just could tell, you know, I just noticed by that wide head right there that it was a
bunch of oil. Look at that. This thing's making oil. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Do they do that for
strength? Yeah, or does it weave its ramp? It's got to be. Rigidity? Yeah. What? That's a big
word, ain't it? Big word coming from you. We don't hear many talking like that. Look at here. Oh,
wow. That tells you something right there. Yeah. Whenever there's a rat in there,
no. Oh, there it covers me. Oh, no. The cover's probably built in too. Yeah. Yeah.
This thing will fire right up, dude. Does it have batteries? Did you check the batteries?
That should be under the steps, huh? Guess what I did yesterday, Wiley? There's no telling what
you do. I got to spend. I took my grandson to lunch. I got with my grandson yesterday. He's
two and a half. Two and a half. Yeah. So, I got to hang out with him a little bit, but
his mom was telling me there was a major peekaboo accident at his preschool.
They had to rush everybody to the ICU.
Please don't unsubscribe. I'm sorry, people. I'm sorry. Here you go. You got to come straight back.
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Well, it's got batteries. It does have batteries. Hold on. I'll go get
my voltmeter. Or we could turn the key. A little corrosion on it, but not too bad. Not a little bit.
Yeah, not too bad. All right. How about we see if that key turns? Or you want me to do it? You can
do it. You're more agile than I am. More agile? You mean don't put my metal, my steel-toed boot
on there and work the batteries? Hey, no cell phones or hands-free device allowed in cabs.
Wiley, look. You see that? It's got a little juice. Oh, low air. I'm just going.
Oh, we're going to have to put some batteries in. Okay. All right. All right. Let's put batteries
in this thing. Don't mind me, Wiley. I'm just going to go get batteries. I won't.
Are yours charged? Mine has never been used before. Here, hold that. Oh, those are the ones
you bought? You think two would do it, or are we going to need all three? Well,
I don't have three that has the stud post. Oh, okay. Or should we call that the Hank post?
That's right. All right, we're going to need ... Did you see the way you throwed my batteries
down? The first thing in battery coping school, do not drop the batteries. All right. It's okay,
because once I put them on, I'm going to beat the connections with a hammer, so we're fine.
We need a nine-sixteenth wrench. All right. I did bring my bag of tools, so we're good there.
I put too many tools in here, though. Good night. This thing weighs 47 pounds.
Yeah. That's some good stuff right there. Boy, it is, ain't it?
You know, I think about all the times that we've started stuff, probably ... I don't know how many
videos we've done, but the one that always comes back to mind that shocked me more than any of
them was that old Barco loader with that 353 Detroit. Yeah. When I hit that, been sitting
there for really, for real, for real, 20 years or 40. Yeah, it was a long time. You could tell
by that none of the hose and that thing popped off that quick. It shocked you it popped off so
fast. It did. It wasn't even one turn. Uh-uh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember. That was down
there close to your house. Yeah. That's living in Florida, ain't it? Yeah, buddy. Well ... Oh,
yeah. Shall we? Back to our roots. This right here is what causes sparks. Yeah. Magna power.
What are these? These are 925 cranking amps. Old CD or something connection. Maybe a cell phone
antenna. All right. What'd you do this weekend, Wyler? Well, I had a funeral to go to. That's
why I was shaved and had a haircut. Oh, yeah. Yeah. My aunt, 93 years old, wouldn't see the
Lord. There you go. She had everything wrote down in her ... Oh, good. What she wanted to wear,
even down to her earwax. Nice. Yeah. I know it's sad, but it makes it easier, don't it? Oh,
it does. And she was ready. Yeah. Nothing sad about it. She's in a better ... It is sad,
but it's just better. 93, 94, maybe. And lived a good life, didn't she? Yeah.
She was probably about 16 when this truck was built.
She could have drove this truck. Didn't your grandma work in the concrete field?
Oh, my. Yeah. It don't ever change. Two years later, it's still the same.
Oh, man. What that is? That's what that ... Oh, yeah. That was connecting, wasn't it?
I'm going to have to hook that connection back up, too. Are you? Yeah, because it wouldn't skin
it or something. It went to the positive, so it may turn on something important.
I wonder if you're going to get them, boy. I know. I seen how you was
like him hauling around until I grabbed it. Let me get one. Okay. Yes, please.
This is a CSI series, crime scene. I have been known to spark something. You have been. Now,
listen. These are so much better for an old man. Are they? Color coded.
Oh, yeah, yeah. Have we tried those new ... They're not lead batteries. They're
like the LifePo or whatever they're called. They're supposed to be super light, but still
provide a ton of cranking amps and stuff. Who would want that?
Yeah. You're going to try it first without that, or are you just going to-
Well, we need to skin it back, I think. You're doing it the right way.
I think it needs to be worked out. All right. Sounds good. I ain't sharpened that
knife in 14 years, so I don't hope that works. Well, since this truck was parked.
Oh, yeah. That's right. Well, I might have some wire strippers in my bag.
What we doing for lunch? That's the important part.
We'll probably ride to Sampson and let you get one of them burgers.
Oh, yeah. One of those Creek Candy Burger thingies?
Yeah. Man, that place is fantastic.
Give it a free shout out. Huh?
Give it a free shout out. Yeah.
You know what's going to be funny, Wiley? Ha ha funny or strange funny?
Just ha ha funny. We're going to get this thing cranked up and not use it,
but the left-handed socket set, you know? At the old adjustable, the old ... We need
the Crestology, bro. Do you still have that wrench?
Yeah. That's what we should use, the old Crestology.
We got it in the Will It Start Shrine Hall of Fame.
Will It Start Hall of Fame? Yeah. I hadn't heard back from them.
I hope that the new batteries are strong enough to pull that one out to, you know,
pull that one along. Yeah, that was probably the weakest one,
the one we didn't take out. Yeah. Closest to the starter.
That's how it's going to work, you know? That's what we're ... But I wonder,
is there a safety feature where this thing don't come on unless it's turned off?
But you are right. I just kind of glanced back up at that, Wiley.
That is weird that that thing is pointed toward the ...
When we crank it up, we might see it going ...
Oh, it might. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, for sure.
And they were just backing it up real fast, and it turned it with the wind.
I'll tell you what. We tried to crank an LTL 9000 the other day,
and that thing would not crank until we figured out that we didn't have those connections tight.
Yeah. They had them rubbers on the end. If you haven't seen that video,
you'll know what I'm talking about. They had them rubber, protective rubbers.
And I was toting batteries that day.
Was you? I don't know. Hank had me messed up.
Hank, it's going to bust off now, I'm just telling you.
Yeah. All right. Since you did all the hard work, I'll go ahead and do the easy stuff.
All right, you ready? I got it in neutral. Ready?
Yeah. All right, here we go.
I still like it. I don't care if they are easy.
Yeah. Yeah. It's still pretty awesome, ain't it?
Yeah. They always do. These M11s and something similar to that, just crank right up. I don't
know what it is about them. I just wondered if the pistons are bigger in these things,
is why the head's wide. I know a lot of you know that, but it's got what, like 400 horsepower in
it. It sounds good. Sounds real good. It sounds real good, but that's not a turbo.
Yeah. Is it a turbo? Let's see.
Is it a turbo? I don't know. I don't see a traditional looking turbo. Oh, there it is. Yeah.
Do you want to see? I'm not sure. Try to see if that thing can turn. I'm scared.
What I don't want to happen is I don't want us to get it started and not know how to stop it.
Once it gets rolling so fast, it just like a top, it just comes up.
Wiley, you like blackberries? I love blackberries. That one tasted like it had coyote pee on it.
Hey, you want to try a theory? It's got something to do with the back end, I bet.
It does something. So the PTO is running, but it's not engaged. Try it out, Wiley.
How many yards do you need over there, boy? Hey, give me a number six lump.
Hey, you know what's going to be funny? If it still has something in it,
and you dump it all in the bed of your truck. All right, we got plenty of oil pressure. That
looks good. Massive, 238,000 miles on it. Almost 239,000. Let's see. All right,
push start. I'm pretty sure the PTO has to be engaged. Well, where is that at? Wouldn't you
think? Yeah. Let me move our trucks and at least roll the truck back. Okay, yeah. Is it still
building air pressure? It's done. Okay, well, we're out of the way. Yeah, she's wanting to go.
There she goes. Yeah. Look how buried them tires are. Come on. Y'all can see in the background,
there's a D7 Caterpillar right there. We just did a video on that. Go check it out.
Was the wheel sliding? Was the wheels rolling or sliding? No, they rolled.
It just won't release the brakes. Oh, no, they were all rolling. Okay.
Except for those back eight, they weren't. You sure they're rolling? Yeah, they're rolling.
That button will not stay engaged.
Missed it. Missed it.
The work light in the back works. I got the work lights on and off.
It's off, on, off. We found one switch that works. Something's moving back there.
What's that? Something's moving back there. Oh, yeah, the chute. It must be locked. Hold on.
Probably a safety lock. That goes down. Yeah. Yeah, the chute went down.
The chute was going down. Do I need to pick it back up? No, it's good now.
Light. I'm going to see if anything on this remote back here works. Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
So, chute up and down. So, let's go. Oh, yeah. Check that out. Chute down. See it? Chute up.
Yeah. Drum discharge charge. I don't want that. What this is. Oh, that's, I locked it.
Hopper. Let's see. That's the hopper, I'm sure. Let's see if I can do anything with that.
That's not working, but it's probably got a safety switch in it.
I'm 100% sure you probably got to engage a PTO of some sort.
Because the chute on the remote back there worked up and down,
but that's the only thing that worked on it. I don't see anything that engages.
See this, but it's, I mean, the temperature is fine. The oil pressure is good.
I don't see anything. Yeah. And it's on 15 revolutions. Yeah, there's probably a sequence
of like, you got to push two buttons together or, well, maybe not on a, I don't know. I don't
know. I don't either. There's nothing here. I bet it works though. Yeah. Something clicked
back there. Huh? Something clicked when you did that. Oh, that's that. How much fuel it got?
Plenty. Three quarters of a tank. Okay. Is it diesel? I got some, put some in my truck.
Right. I don't, I really wanted to do that. I've never done that before.
What's that? I really wanted to do that. I ain't never done that before.
Yeah. Oh, you got to hold that in. Yeah. That's what it's, whoops. Hey, you got it.
What'd you hit? We're turning 17 revolutions per minute count. Okay.
Yeah. That's cool. Oh, it went, it's going faster. That's cool, dude. First time I've
ever mixed concrete, boy. Listen, you're pretty much, what'd you hit? I just hit,
I don't know. I just kept hitting and holding trigger. This is a stop. Oh yeah. Yeah. That
Oh, you might've had to have a trigger plus the button. Might've did. Yeah. And what it is now
it's on. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's cool. We're on 21 now. Revolutions. This thing, Hank, total
has turned 800,890 times. Oh my gosh. That's what the left number is? That's what the left number
is. And I don't know if it's rolled over or not, but right here, all I did was hit this, this,
this light stayed on somehow or another and you just stopped it. Yeah. Push it stopped right there.
It just started working. All right. That's cool as heck, dude. Got good oil pressure. Anybody
wants it? We've been fooling around with it for 10, 20 minutes and temperature is just 150.
Yeah. Yeah. The engine sounds fantastic. Yeah. If you guys are interested in this,
just for the truck itself, cause it, it, it turns. We don't know if it works or not,
but it does turn the shoot works. We know that doesn't leak. But anyway, I don't see any leaks
or anything, you know? So it looks like it'd be a good looking truck for some like an independent
concrete truck, you know, driver or something like that. Or, um, if you need some parts or
something, the engine sounds fantastic. But anyway, I'll, uh, Hank at Hamiltonville farm.com
hit me up. I'll get you in touch with the owner, but, uh, 66,000, 66,000 pound machine. You know
what I mean? So anyway, cool job. Good job, man. I like them when they easy like this,
I'm not complaining a bit. Yeah. Not bad for an old truck. Is it? It is not bad. All right. Hey,
we appreciate you guys watching check out. Don't be Wiley. He does a lot of cool videos on his
channel. Go over there and check it out. Leave a comment below where you're watching from. If
you ever drove a concrete truck before or cement truck before, we appreciate you guys watching.
God bless you guys. Y'all ain't going to believe it. So I put all these old batteries back in,
right? Took the good batteries out because y'all heard the key turn over and it didn't work. Watch
this right here. I think Wiley knew it was going to crank and he just wanted me to take those
anyway. Yeah. Hey, but listen, 19 five on the truck, 19,500 bucks on any of them. There's four
of them out here. So, and they, they probably all run 19 five. Uh, hit me up if you're interested
and I'll put you in touch with the owner. Okay. Appreciate you guys. God loves you.
