Petite Shorts Summer Outfit Ideas! Casual & Dressy Outfits For Petites

Hi guys, in today's video I am styling shorts for petite's for you guys. So I'm going to give you some outfit ideas for summertime and I'm styling three different shorts in casual ways, in dressy ways, and I really wanted to style shorts specifically because for me personally, this is just a really go-to piece for the summertime. It's really easy to just throw on and wear for the entire day, especially for the really hot months. So the three shorts I'm styling today are these paper bag waist shorts for something a little bit more dressy and then some casual denim shorts, which, you know, each of these shorts I'm going to be sharing casual ways and dressy ways. For something dressy, I really recommend like paper bag waist pants because they're a little bit more dressed up, a little more classy, and they're a little bit longer in length as well. So I feel like these would be just really great for just dressing up and the denim shorts are great for casual looks and you can also dress them up too, which I'll show you in different ways. But these are the two styles I decided to go with for myself this summer. They're a little bit looser in the thigh, fitted at the waist. I love these colors. The black ones here, these are a mom style and then these light washes called the perfect jean short. These are both from Madewell and then these short paper bag shorts, they are from Loft. They're in size petite, which is really nice and these paper bag shorts also come in several other colors. I decided to go with this like khaki color because I feel like this just blends really well with all the other pieces I have in my wardrobe. So I'm going to be looking at my phone at the pictures that I took of these outfits. So let's start with styling these paper bag waist shorts. So I love having these again for dressy outfits. One dressy way that I love wearing it is what I'm actually wearing right now is with this blue top. This blue top is so stunning and last I checked, unfortunately this like print is out of stock. They have the same exact shirt, just in solid colors. They have a really pretty light blue that's similar to this, just not in a floral print, it's in a solid print, but I'll link this top. You can check out all the different options they have for it, but it is so pretty. It's so fun. I love the sleeves. I love this way. And then another way is wearing it with a white shirt and then keeping the same flats and then the white shirt has like a kind of dramatic sleeve, eyelet sleeve. I'll link a similar version to this one that I have on because this exact one has been out of stock for a long time. And then another dressy way is wearing it with a blazer and a cami and I think this looks a little bit more professional, a little more chic. Another really cute dressed up outfit with the paper bag shorts. These three ways. I love it. I'm wearing the same shoes for every single outfit and I'm just pretty much just switching out the top and then one of them I'm wearing a blazer with it as well. And then I'm adding in like a tan bag with it, which I think makes it look so pretty. Then next I want to share ways to wear the light wash denim shorts. So these are the perfect jean short by Madewell. I think these come in maybe a couple other washes, but this light wash you guys is absolutely stunning. I would say definitely go for this color if you're interested in this fit of a short. It is so classic and simple. This light wash color is stunning. And one way I totally recommend wearing this is wear it with a light blue top. So like with this outfit, it looks so pretty with this florally blue top that I have on. So if you have a blue shirt and light wash denim shorts like this, pair them together. It's going to look so pretty and adorable this way, specifically the light wash short. And then I'm wearing the white pointed toe flats with it. And then another way to dress up this short is wearing the white shirt. I love wearing like light wash denim with white. I think it looks really pretty together. Dress up outfits with denim shorts. You can always pick tops that are a little bit more dramatic and kind of more of a statement top since the denim shorts already look like a casual piece. Play it up with the different styles of shirts that are a little bit more dramatic and I think you'll have a really pretty outfits that way. And then to make it casual, these shorts, just wear it with really basic casual tops like this cami that I have. This is from Banana Republic. I have it in extra small petite. I always share this tank. I think it's the perfect spring and summer staple with outerwear in the summertime. It can be kind of tricky because you know, it's really hot in the summer, but I do really like this linen over shirt that I think pairs really well with these light wash shorts and then the white cami. And those are a couple of ways you can wear these light wash shorts casually. Okay, so I have to say these black mom shorts are my favorite for the summertime. I have been wearing these the most so far out of these three that I have. My black ones are my most reached for pair. And a couple dressy ways to wear these shorts. So this is probably the only outfit where I'm wearing heels. I'm wearing these just black strappy heels with this with my camisole that I have in black. So the same one I shared in white. It's the same one, but in black and I kind of have just like an all black monochromatic outfit going on. And then you can also elevate the outfit and wear a top with a dramatic sleeves like this white shirt I already shared and then I'm matching the white shirt with my white flats. And those are two really cute just dressier outfits. And of course you can, you know, change it up a little bit, add heels or wear flats that are a little bit more elevated. This is just kind of like what I usually go for when I'm dressing up shorts. I really like just wearing the flats that are pointed or if I'm wearing a heel, I really like more of like a chunkier heel. That way I'm just a little bit more comfortable during the day and then strappy ones are a great option and to keep it casual. So I'm keeping the same like base of the black cami and the black shorts, but to just tone it down a bit, I'm just going to be wearing a brown flat slides and then a brown bag. And I think this outfit is so cute. So I'm matching the color of my bag to my shoes and you know, I feel like a lot of people probably say that don't wear black and brown together, but I don't know what it is. I really do like the color black and brown together. I think it just, just looks really nice. That's just something I noticed. I really like pairing those two colors together. So that's what this outfit is. And then another casual way is swap out the top and bottom. So I'm wearing a basic white t-shirt, white sneakers, and then I'm still keeping the same brown bag. And I think this is also a really cute, casual summer outfit. This is probably more of like what I wear for the summertime. I have been wearing it nonstop, you guys, like it is such a good mini bag and I have it pulled up a little bit higher. I feel like it would also look cute with this outfit, I think, but anyways, it really just fits just a few essentials. So phone keys and wallet. And also when I mentioned this, I didn't share the size of my wallet before, so I want to share it now. This is how small my wallet is. It's really, really tiny. It fits inside this tiny little bag perfectly and really, you don't need to carry a lot of cards during the day. You probably just need a couple and that's it, honestly, and some cash and that's what it fits. And then this little bag fits my phone and keys perfectly. And for the summertime, that's really all I need. Honestly, I'm not carrying a bunch of stuff with me, especially if I'm out with family and the kids. I just keep my little essentials here and it's perfect. It's not heavy on my shoulder. I think the bag looks stylish and very simple. So I just wanted to do another quick little review on this in case you guys were curious about it. It also comes in several other colors. It is kind of a splurgy piece, but for me, it's totally worth it because I've been wearing it literally every single day. But you guys, that brings us to the end of this video.
