Things drastically turned at the end of episode 3 of Captivating the King. This drama has lots of potential, as it looks like the king will die from this confrontation with his brother, making Li and the king. This means that power dynamics in the palace are about to change, as the late king failed to make his son the crown prince before his death. This will disarm Zhang Bei and Hyun Bo, who wanted to exploit the situation for their own gain. Zhang Bei wanted to use this opportunity to eliminate the grand prince, and make the prince the crown prince, while Hyun Bo wanted to get back to his sister and the grand prince simultaneously. However, it also looks like He Su and Li En's friendship will turn for the worse, as it looks like Li En will forfeit them after becoming king. To him, he doesn't deserve the luxury of friendship, therefore, he will cast He Su aside when she needs his help the most. However, it looks like he is yet to know that she's a woman, as she's still in disguise. I must say that she had guts, going to the palace despite knowing that she was wanted. The king knew that his brother was innocent of the crime he was accused of, as he was the one who sent the spy, but he wanted to use the opportunity to eliminate his brother for good.
