Inspired by the immortal prose 《Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng》 by the Tang dynasty poet Wang Bo and the monumental landscape masterpiece 《A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains》 by the Northern Song painter Wang Ximeng, this long-form traditional Chinese ambient suite celebrates the timeless dialogue between poetry and painting, literature and landscape.

Though separated by centuries, both Wang Bo and Wang Ximeng were celebrated as prodigies whose greatest achievements came in their youth. Wang Bo composed Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng in his twenties, while Wang Ximeng completed A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains at just eighteen years old—his only surviving masterpiece. Together, their works embody youthful brilliance, limitless imagination, and the enduring pursuit of artistic perfection.

Featuring guqin, guzheng, xiao, dizi, pipa, erhu, sheng, konghou, bianzhong bells, together with flowing rivers, distant waterfalls, mountain winds, birdsong, drifting clouds, and tranquil natural ambience, this collection unfolds like an ancient handscroll brought to life through music, inviting listeners to wander through an ideal world where poetry, painting, and nature exist in perfect harmony.
