The one post you had that I missed and I was going back and I saw it was about your hair.
Yeah. And that one really got me. Yeah. What, what, how hard was that or what did you go through
revealing that, like being revealing? I, you're right, that was another personal thing where I'm
like am I going to keep my bald head to myself? That was my plan. That week I was missing my hair.
I really was. And I saw a video of myself from a while ago with my hair and it just like
hit me that this is a lot and I miss being me. Um, Samantha the wig helps, but it's still like
underneath I have no hair. And so I'm like, you know what, if that helps some other women going
through it, let's put it out there. And so I got a lot of nice messages for that too. But that
bald picture, I was like, am I going to do it? Sure. What was you get clumps of hair initially?
That was the worst part. Um, about five treatments in, I started losing my hair and I knew it was
going to happen cause I didn't do the cold capping. I tried and I just couldn't do it. Um,
and it just like comes out. It's all over the house. You start to look like Gollum. Like I had
bald spots. I looked sick and it was really, really hard. And you just got to decide that's
the day. And so I went to the hairstylist in the park, Vina. She shaved it for me. And honestly,
that wasn't as emotional as it falling out all over my house. I just, it was really, really hard.
What does your daughter think when she sees you without your hair? Well, we prepared her via
what the therapist told us. And we showed her pictures of smiling women with bald heads saying,
this is going to be okay. See how happy they are. And she's been great. She was like, I,
I like a mommy. It's okay. Like you're going to, we love you. You know, she's been so supportive
and comforting. Uh, but she told me to wear the wig to pick her up from daycare.
What is a chemotherapy session like? Um, well that's also really scary and I didn't know what
to expect and getting the port in is scary. Like it's all so scary, but once you like do it a
becomes like, okay, now I know what it is. And so a lot of the unknown is scary, but once your
port's in, you go in, they access your port, you sit in a chair like you've all seen and they put
it through an IV into your port. And it could be like several hours. Um, sometimes it's shorter,
um, depending on if you have immunotherapy or whatever. And each time I've had people with me,
are you a daddy's girl? A hundred percent. A hundred percent. He's also a doctor. So like
having him there made me feel comfortable. And also the first drug I reacted to when they first
started putting it in and that was scary and he was there. So that was like a comfort.
I mean, when you, you get the call, you're with your husband,
but now you have to share this with your family. I suspect your father and your parents were first
I had my husband do it because it was hard to like, I was still like a ghost when I heard the
news. And so he had to call my dad and like, I can't imagine him getting that call. But then he
told my mom and then my brother and my brother packed a bag for like as long as whatever. And
he just like packed it and wanted to come up. So like I have a really close knit family thinking
about like people you love getting the news about you and you worrying about them while you're also
worried. It's like a weird tornado. How do you do? I mean, because you know, you're a mom, so you,
you know, athletes always say that's my why. I suspect it is your why. I think I even put that
on Instagram, like my world or my why or something. Yeah. But your parents are too. I mean,
yeah. My husband too. I'm like, Oh, God, it's not gonna leave this family. And he's gonna have to
like, keep her schedule. You don't think you think like that? In the beginning, I did. I was like,
I can't leave her. Like I did all this to bring her into the world. And now God's gonna take me
like that doesn't seem fair. I did think like that. When I think I'm gonna beat it now, by the way.
Why do you feel that? Because my team is confident. I responded well to treatment.
It's not like they're surprised. They know what this is. The other women I followed.
I think I could beat it. Yeah.
