Sudden violent death on Houston's East Side was the fatal shooting of an
immigrant husband and father in any way justified or just the latest
homicidal act of a rogue agency with little regard for life in the race for
U. S. Senate Republican Ken Paxton once again under fire. Did our state's top
cop actually break the election law he sworn to enforce and pulling back the
curtain on a monster grift as the number of Texans cheating on their homestead
exemption continues to mount. I'm Greg Grogan and welcome to watch your point
where our panelists call it like they see it. Let's greet them. Starting us
off, bob price, associate editor of Breitbart texas. Next up, Fox 26 legal
and political analyst chris Tritico in the three spot longtime super
neighborhood leader tomorrow bell batting cleanup this morning, writer
and public policy advisor charles Blaine and closing us out education and
public safety advocate paul Castro. Let's begin. I recognize him
immediately, not from his appearance, but from his voice crying for help as
he lay on the street bleeding out the heart rending words of Ronaldo Salgado,
son of Lorenzo Salgado Arrujo, the 52 year old undocumented husband and
father who was shot and killed Tuesday morning on the east side. By now, all of
you know the fundamental facts. The van driven by the longtime construction
worker carrying three members of his crew was chased by two unmarked units
apparently without lights or sirens. Ice claims Salgado weaponized his
vehicle and attempted to ram agents, a claim which has thus far failed every
attempt at confirmation given the complete absence of collision damage on
any of the vehicles and video, which strongly indicates the unmarked ice SUV
actually cut in front of Salgado's van. Thursday, Fox 26 was the first to
report that it was not Salgado who was targeted for arrest. It was one of his
passengers, one of three survivors of this botched operation currently in
custody at the federal detention center in Conroe panel as material
witnesses to this homicide. Their testimony is critical because
inexplicably after the fatal shootings in Minnesota and elsewhere, none of the
federal agents involved were equipped with body cams. Fortunately, this
morning we have criminal defense attorney Chris Tritico here. I really
want to get your assessment of the facts as we know them. So to me, this is
more of the same from from ice. The the fact that they don't have body cams in
by policy of the government and they continue every time they kill somebody
to say it's the victim who did this. He weaponized his car. He attacked the
officer. All of these claims have been refuted every time it's happened. And
so, uh, what I'm waiting to see is if Tom Holman will come through with what
he's promising, and that's a fair investigation. But they're shutting out
the Harris County D. A. Who is an independent investigator here. If the
government clears these agents without allowing the Harris County district
attorney to come in and do an independent investigation, I don't know
what's gonna happen because the city's done a great job of protesting without
violence. But when when the government continues to do what they're doing, I'm
afraid that that we may we may end up somewhere else. The attorney
representing the three men in Conroe says they say the agents were never in
front of the vehicle. I don't know. What are you hearing, Bob? Because you
have deep sources within ice. Well, ice is being very tight lipped about this
at the moment. There's a lot to unpack in this story and investigations being
done not by the Department of Homeland Security, but by the FBI and the
Department of Justice. The new U. S. Attorney who will talk about later in
the show will be involved in this. I think it should be a very open and
transparent investigation, and I think Director Holman will will do that.
Borders are home and we'll do that. As far as the body camera issue, that
funding for those body cameras was held up by the Democrats on the issue of the
funding of ice. They withheld the funds for that. Now it's been approved, and
they are in the process of working that through and getting the training and
getting the equipment, getting it installed in people's, uh, on their on
their bodies and on their dash cams. So that will be changing. The facts of
this case remain very unclear. At this point, there's a lot of contradictions.
The three individuals who were inside the vehicle who are making statements
have a lot of reason to not necessarily be truthful about this. They're
eligible for victim status visas now as part of this process, and so they would
probably have a good reason to make their story work for that. Um, what we
do know is Mr Salgado entered the country illegally 21 years ago, never
applied for legal status here. This year he applied for a work permit, which
would not give him legal status, and he did not stop when he was trying to be
stopped by the ice agents. Okay, I want to go to Paul Castro. This is deeply
impacted our community. Yeah, so God family country. So he is being defined
as an illegal migrant. First, he was a Christian. He was a Catholic first
family. He was a father raised three young men who became citizens who were
citizens by birthright and who are contributing to their communities. Um,
and and then community. He's a Houstonians lived here for 35 years. He
built homes across our entire city. That is the person who we lost this past
week. That's the person who was murdered, and that's what it was ruled
was a homicide. He was murdered. He was. He was killed. Okay, well, you also
made other right accusations that are incorrect. So just hold. Um, what we
lost was we lost a contributing member of our society without a true and clear
understanding. Now, what the family has asked for, which I think is
outstanding is a vast for justice. They're not asking for people to
protest in the streets to go wild to turn over trash cans, burn things. What
they're asking for is for our community to turn to itself in the mirror, look
in the mirror and say, Is this who we are? And so as many of you get ready
for services this morning, what I need you to be asking yourself is, are we
going to justify the murder of one of our community members and say, Well, he
should have stopped. He should have obeyed the law. And if that's the
standard that we're accepting as a community, then that's on us. And then
we need to tell the family. Yes, we're okay with the murder and the killing of
your dad because he should have obeyed. All right, still to come. Missiles
flying in the Middle East as any semblance of peace with Iran deteriorates.
Question now is extreme force the only path forward. But up next, more on the
taking of a life in our city by federal agents. Can truth and
accountability be secured for an outraged community? We've seen the
habits of ice. They have lost the trust of the American people. And as a member
of the House Oversight Committee, let me tell you, when Democrats take the
house back ice, you better buckle up because we will be investigating you
day after day after day until this lawlessness and this militarism stops.
We are better than this. We can be a country of the rule of law and a
country that respects everybody's rights, everybody's humanity and
everybody's dignity.
Congressman Christian Menifee and Harris County Commissioner Leslie
Briones expressing what many Houstonians are feeling this week. I
also spoke one on one with the lawmaker leading the quest for transparency and
answers. Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia.
It's still an out of control, rogue ice, and we cannot let them go to our
cities and do whatever they want. Control the scene, control the evidence,
control the investigation after they've shot someone here in our country.
Panel Harris County District Attorney Sean Teer said Friday his office is
conducting a parallel investigation and state Representative Christina Morales
has requested that the Texas Rangers launch a probe. All right, Charles, you
have watched this unfold. Uh, you know, what's your take? Yeah, I mean, watching
the press conferences and all the strongly worded letters fly back and
forth is great. But what frustrates me with this is that we have the local
elected officials, state and federal, who all hold these levers of power that
could do different things on both sides of this that that come after the fact,
right? So when we talk about accountability, you know, a couple
months ago, there were Michigan congresswoman running up and down the
street yelling that ice was in the neighborhood and getting people like to
drive away. And there were activists hiding people in their homes. I'm not
suggesting that they should be doing that because it's not on the side of
the argument that I'm on. But if they are genuinely in belief of what they're
saying, why are you guys not doing? We have sitting congressmen and women who
definitely knew or could have known that ice was active in their community
and alerted and alerted people to be aware of it. Um, and they didn't. Then
on the flip side of this, though, we often have a lot of Republicans who
come into the back end and say, um, it puts pressure on law enforcement, puts
them at risk, which it does. But at the same time, we we take don't donations
and work with and engage economically with industries, especially in this
region that purely benefit off of illegal immigrant labor. And so if
you're going to continue to do that, then you can't come in and say that
it's a problem. So it's like this both sides thing and nobody wants to fix it
because they both benefit from it. And I do believe they are genuinely
concerned about this issue. But it's frustrating to see everyone always
coming on the back end. I want to say for the record, I am frustrated as a
citizen that this this country cannot provide cameras and dash cams. We can
get them on Amazon overnight, but we didn't have them on federal agents
tomorrow. You've gone and spent time with folks at these vigils. Look, I
went to the visual yesterday and, um, the community really showed up. But let
me begin with this. You tell people that you want them to bring you any
video that they have or anything you think they're gonna do that in the
neighborhood and they saw you all had a unmarked car. Now I know who watched
this show. I know you ought to watch the show. Ain't no way in hell you're
gonna let an unmarked car with no lights just run you off the road. You
will start shooting first before they get to shoot you. How the hell was he
supposed to know they ice? He know they're a mind reader. The car, the
windows were all blacked out. They had police on the back of the car on the
rear by the license plates. How the hell was he supposed to know? This is
unjustified as hell. I don't care what they say. And you want to say that
people have a reason to lie. Everybody in them damn vans and the
suburbans have a reason to lie and to lie on these people. This is something
that needs to stop. I'm not kidding. Because in Houston, road rage is
epidemic. So who the hell gonna stop for this? And what I want to say more
than anything, pray for this family. They are hurting. They are devastated.
Their dad was a hard worker. And just like Charles said, corporations built
these people for profit. They want to tell me get the hell out the country.
That's a B. S. And y'all know it. Chris and I worked on a story that became
legislation, which was cameras and special needs classrooms. And the
argument was that the cameras would protect the teachers from false
allegations as well. That's why law enforcement has to have them. If this
was a righteous, a righteous operation, the cameras would have proved it. But
they don't have that proof. And that's a problem. Up next, the political
ramifications of the Salgado killing in a midterm election where Tejano voters
were already drifting back to Team Blue.
It is unacceptable. It is un American to use lethal force against a human
being. Then lock away the evidence, hide the video, silence the record and
expect his family, the people of Houston and the American public to
simply not and say, we believe you because we don't.
They call for accountability from Lulac National President Ramon Palomares, one
of many Tejano and Latino voices outraged by the killing on Canal Street
panel. The political ramifications of this homicide could well prove profound
in the state of Texas, where no fewer than four of 10 residents are Hispanic
voters who were already breaking Democrat ahead of the midterm, a
pendulum swing driven by the unrealized economic prosperity promised by the
president and a deportation policy many view as draconian, heavy handed and a
far cry from the surgical removal of criminals they fully supported in 2024.
That sound right, Paul? Yeah. So, um, Lorenzo did not have illegal immigrant
tattooed on his face. He was brown. That was it. Uh, I also killed. Border
Patrol killed a person on South Padre Island who was a U. S. Born San
Antonio born 23 year old young man, I think, and he was getting away at five
miles an hour and they shot him through a car door. So this is a recurring theme
that's occurring and what happens and this is odd. So Pew Research recently
released a report that showed that Hispanics identify as Americans,
especially by second and third generation. They don't identify as
Latinos or Latin X or whatever the stupid other words they identify as
Americans. Republicans have not had an opportunity. They lost it. They lost it
because what they basically did is they looked at the Hispanic community and
they said, All y'all are brown and you're all are all the same vote for us
because of abortion. But just obey, be quiet and listen. And I think that was
a tragic, unnecessary loss of an entire group of people who are wanting
to be part of the American dream or saying, give us opportunities, give us
financial opportunities that the Republicans were promising. And now
they've woken up and said, Okay, none of that was true in the first place.
This is really all just based on, you know, immigration enforcement and
hammering people and tariffs. And they're saying this doesn't make any
sense. So they flip back. So this is really on the Republican Party for
missing it. And no Republican has spoken out against this. So you're
either okay with this or you don't have the courage to speak up, Bob. So
first I want to say my condolences to the Salgado family. The sons and the
family have done a very responsible and reasonable, um, presentation of who
this man was and and they're seeking justice for what happened and not
calling for other types of activities. Um, the men and women of ice in Houston
are doing a very valuable job for this community. In the month of May alone,
they removed 768 criminal illegal aliens, many of whom had committed
violent homicides, child predators, rape, sexual assaults, other violent
crimes against people in the in this community, many people in the Hispanic
community. And they're out there doing this job every day. None of them go out
on the streets going. Let's go find somebody to shoot today. They're
demonized with premature allegations of murder. They are attacked every single
day. And the fact that the city of Houston and other cities all across
this community don't cooperate with ice and allow put mark patrol units to work
with them to help with traffic stops like they would any other federal
agency enforcing federal law sets up situations where this can happen. This
was an administrative warrant. We don't know what the target, but we haven't
heard of any criminal activity other than the fact that, uh, he wasn't
supposed to be. I don't think he was accused of any crimes. Okay, when we
come back a scandal that keeps getting bigger. How have so many Texans gotten
away? Scott free with cheating on the Homestead exemption tax evasion on a
truly gargantuan scale happening here in Texas. Our own Charles Blaine not
only uncovered widespread cheating on the so called Homestead exemption, he's
sounding the alarm with a call for legislative and prosecutorial action. I
think people are really frustrated because they know that they have to pay
this. It's like a contract we all sign, right? That you this is a part of being
in society, and yet people are gaming the system while they continue to pay
for the resources that we all have. As we've been reporting, Charles
identified two major categories of cheaters. The so called double dippers
claiming homesteads on multiple homes, often in different counties and also
corporate scammers claiming the tax break on their entire inventory of
short term rentals and houses they hope to flip. Charles, this just keeps
getting worse. What's the latest? Yeah, so this past week, Tarrant County and
Travis County kind of review some of the samples I gave them and agreed that
theirs were a little bit of a best to. There's some interesting ones in there
like a rental called San Trope rental. It's a multimillion dollar house on the
Colorado River. Beautiful home, you know, boat dock all this. It had a five
year homestead exemption. It was being rented for about $8500 a month, and
they also get the tax 10% cap on their exemption. So the property was valued
at something like 1.7, but the market value was closer to three. And so they
were saving a lot. You see a lot of these big outsize ones all over Harris
County. There's a couple multimillion dollar ones that people own, and I mean,
it's a mess. And it's and you know, when you juxtapose it against the story we
just talked about, you have people who kind of afraid of existing in their
communities, and then you have this other side of spectrum people stealing
and in broad daylight and have no concern over it. So I really do hope we
see some enforcement and some stronger teeth to it. And and at least if nobody
else just focus on the LLC residents, there could be some ambiguity there. Are
they confused? This that but the LLC's clearly know that they're doing wrong.
Chris, what would you tell a client who came in and said, Hey, I think they just
caught me cheating on the homestead exemption. Write me a check. First thing
I'd say, you know, this is this is gonna get bigger and bigger and bigger from
what Charles and good job on this day. What he did in I think that Charles is
right. The LLC's are going to be the ones that are probably going to get
indicted first because it's gonna be hard for a corporation to say, I didn't
know I wasn't entitled to a homestead exemption on 40 houses. That's that's
gonna be a difficult day for them. The individuals are gonna be harder to
prosecute. But if you've got two homes in two counties and you're claiming a
homestead exemption on both of them, you knew you were wrong. Yeah. Tomorrow. Is
there really any excuse for this? I mean, some people inherit their their
their parents house, which had a 65 year old exemption and then just keep
paying the homestead at that level. There's all kind of ways to Jimmy the
system, especially if the appraisal districts aren't looking exactly. And
this is really literally stealing from the Children is stealing from the
schools because when you don't pay this and you want to complain about how the
schools are so raggedy and all of this hell is because you're stealing. Now,
don't be listening to Captain Save a hole. That would be Ken Paxton, who does
this all the time. Every time he get a new hole, he get a new homestead
exemption. That does not make it right. It is wrong. And this goes back. Bill
King used to be a line marker back before. Oh, wait, this has been going
back. He offered to stop this in the early two thousands, and he heard
crickets from the county leadership back then. Crickets. Okay, so I am so
proud of Charles for narrowing in on this. The newly elected, uh, appraisal
district. They were blown away. They had no idea. So I'm really hoping that
they absolutely bring this to a halt and collect that money. Charles, we're
hitching our wagon to this. Yes. All right. When we come back, peace deal
with Iran in full collapse. President Trump warning that the path forward
will be painful for the renegade regime appears to be a new memorandum of
understanding in the Middle East, the kind that comes at the business end of
a cruise and air to ground missile. The Iranians firing back amid the extended
funeral demonstrations for their slain supreme leader, while, according to the
Israelis, simultaneously plotting an assassination attempt on President
Trump. I'm number one on the kill list for Iran. There's something wrong with
the so called ceasefire, that is, and so panel the conflict originally
advertised as a couple of weeks moves into its fifth month with no bloodless
end in sight. On the contrary, many analysts are predicting an escalation.
Paul, you would be at the top of that list because you said this was gonna
happen. Yes, unfortunately. Um, so we're expecting a horrifically abusive
totalitarian regime to respond in a way that the West would. They're not the
West. This is a group of murderous people who kill their own people. They
don't care about the pain that we're inflicting upon them and their people.
What they do care about is the money that flows in when they were able to
exert power and how they exert power is at the Strait of Hormuz. They declared
the Strait of Hormuz was closed yet again, and it's gonna be up to the
shippers to decide whether the risk is worth it to push their ships through
that space. And right now they're saying they're not going to do that.
They're they're relying on us to guarantee safety, and we haven't been
able to do that yet because drones are way harder to knock out of the air than
anything else. So we're in a position where we're having to kowtow to a group
of murderous barber, barbaric people on where we're knee deep in the muck, and
there's nothing we can do about it from what we can see so far. Our friend
Bill King alluded to what he seems to think is a growing coalition against
the Iranians in the region. Are you hearing anything about that, Bob? Well,
they are. The fact that Iran is bombing these people in their neighbors is
certainly aiding that coalition development and is going to change the
geopolitical nature of the Middle East for decades to come. I think I've said
continuously that these people cannot and should not be negotiated with. They
need to be eliminated. They need to be taken off the face of the earth. That's
the only way we can reestablish a new government in there that will behave and
act as a responsible government leadership. We have total air
superiority over the entire nation of Iran. We can bomb anything that moves
that comes out of a military facility, an IRGC facility. We can track where
drones were launched from and destroy those facilities. We can destroy the
buildings where they make these drones, etcetera. And we need to just we can
start taking out their power plants and we need to seize all the Iranian oil
that we can get our hands on and take Karg Island and start pumping that oil
out of there. It's been said on this show and others that air superiority
air war alone has never concluded an entire conflict and that boots on the
ground are necessity. Does our country have the appetite? I disagree with that
and it doesn't have to be our boots on the ground. We we can decimate the
Iranian military infrastructure and let other people come in. Go ahead, Chris. I
agree with the assessment that you can't just win a war in the air. Uh, and
we never have. If you remember, hang on. If you remember the, um, the invasion
in Kuwait, um, we bombed them for days and days and days and then sent troops
in and ended it. And that's unfortunately when the president started
this without talking to any of our any of our allies and in and then settled
it before the fourth of july so he could have a press conference with a
memorandum of understanding that did not shore up the critical issues that
needed to be short up. We're left in this position and now the president's
back to threatening them and he's proven himself a paper tiger with respect to
these threats. He makes a threat and then and then extends the time to
negotiate it. Iran is not that stupid and they know that he's not going to do
what he's saying he's going to do. And so until he gets ready to do what needs
to be done because he started this, we're gonna have to go in and finish
it. It's not going to go away on its own. Go tomorrow. This is only for
historical clarity. We damn sure can stop wars with air. They dropped the
damn bomb on Japan as was done before that. Japan came to Pearl Harbor and
beat the hell out of us. And if they had kept coming, we probably would have
lost the war. But they were in the air. They were not no groups of troops on
the ground. Now this situation is different because technology has
changed. Okay. Drones have literally changed the game. I'm not kidding.
They've changed the game. But if we don't stop being taco, okay, don't keep
your word on a damn thing. This is going to be what the young people call a
forever war. Get it over. All right, we're gonna leave it there. Still to
come. Attacking the affordability challenges with rebated state dollars.
Democrat Gina Hinojosa says that's her pledge of elected governor. But up next,
high profile division among Texas Democrats going public in a big way as
Jasmine Crockett blames her loss in the Senate primary on racism.
Looks like the process of mending broken fences in the Democratic Party
is going to need some more time. Exhibit A Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett
throwing out the R word squarely at her primary opponent's campaign. People
keep trying to say, well, Jasmine has to go and hold his hand. No, I don't. You
see, a lot of haters got a lot of things to say about me and my race and
how I ran it. But the reality is that there was a lot of races, not a lot. It
was racist. It was a racist race. It is what it is. Meantime, Tallarico
hammering away at Republican Ken Paxton's weak spots as in his decision
to allow an admitted child rapist to skate with a misdemeanor plea and less
than a month of jail time. Adam Hoffman was a well connected lawyer who abused
an eight year old boy. He should be spending his life in prison. But
instead, Ken Paxton gave him a sweetheart deal, letting him out of
panel. While Team Tallarico is focused on their opponent, they have to be
worried about Crockett, giving their guy the Heisman stiff arm. You know, I
mean, they're gonna need all those african american votes if they're going
to prevail in the fall tomorrow. Absolutely. And I will be very honest
with you all. I have reached out to some elected leadership who has engaged
to him and I asked him what is he doing? He had a representative come
down and meet with a bunch of Democrats, precinct chairs. And when
they asked him about, you know, are y'all gonna be doing any work or
hiring down here? He said, no, we're looking for volunteers. And they asked
him as your as a volunteer. Well, then he left the room. Then when he went
to the Harris County black area Democrats, same guy didn't do anything
to say anything. They decided not to endorse him. Now, do I think he needs
Jasmine Crockett herself? No, I'm not gonna say that at all, but he
absolutely has to do a better thing because Beto O'Rourke came to this
black pastors event and I remember speaking to his assistant and I was
like, okay, so how are you all gonna do? Oh, we're not putting any money in
the black communities. You're a fool. If you do that, they're gonna vote
anyway. I said, his ass is gonna lose. Okay, because I know what Obama did in
the black communities in places where they have very low voter turnout to
help get the people. I said, I know what Republican people do. Come on now.
You can do that to him. I'm just saying, don't don't don't don't do me.
That's okay. All right. Tallarico Tallarico. Can he is this gonna be
transactional? Is Crockett just waiting for to make a deal? I mean, I'm cynical
about the process. I don't know what I don't know what's going on with Jasmine
Crockett's team and why she's doing this when when you lose a race and you
have to turn around and do the right thing. And and I would hope that if
Tallarico had lost, he would have immediately supported Jasmine Crockett.
What Jasmine Crockett's doing is burning down the house because she lost is not
helping the party that that she claims she supports. And it's a mistake on her
part to be this upset about losing a race. And I think it's a mistake on
Tallarico's part for not sitting down with her directly and saying, let's mend
this fence. Paul, could the same be said for John Cornyn? Jumping on board with
Ken Paxton. That's a good one. I mean, he keeps quoting Bible verses and stuff.
So it's he's been an interesting other side of the election piece. The thing I
heard recently from a friend who's pretty plugged in in DFW on Tallarico is
the same complaints are being held there, which is the Tallarico team and
much less Tallarico himself. They're not sitting down and listening to the
black community. And what they're doing is they've placed their bets that
whites, uh, independent whites and Hispanics are going to make that make
up the difference. I think that is absolutely stupid and tactically wrong.
All right, we'll be watching it up next rules for the but not for me. Texas
Attorney General Ken Paxton under fire for possible voter fraud.
Lots of chatter this week about this video of Ken Paxton spotted with his
current romantic partner on the streets of jolly old London, apparently
celebrating the 250th anniversary of independence from England, actually in
England and not at one of hundreds of 4th of July parades in the state he
hopes to represent in the U. S. Senate. Also, plenty of chatter about
accusations of election fraud lodged against our state's top cop, who voted
six times over the past two years using an address where he does not live and
hasn't lived for years now. All right, panel. At the very least, that's pretty
dang sloppy. At worst, it's breaking a law he is sworn to enforce. Charles,
what's your take here? What do you want me to say about this Bridgerton video
of them walking around in London? It looks like it's out of some talk about
the election. It's all of that. It's all of that. I mean, but it also just
reminded me that the story of when he was served the indictment at his home
back in the day that he ran. Remember, I don't you guys remember they they
served him and he like ran to the SUV or something. That was a big story
there. Uh, this is just a mess. I mean, you look at the local elections. These
are decided very often by slim, slim, slim number of voters we had in Houston.
I remember Carlos's narrows her elections, 32 voters in a city where a
district represents 250,000 people. So if I was a local elected official or a
losing candidate, preferably in that district, I would kind of see if that
played any role. I'm gonna give Bob a quick quick chance and I'm gonna go
right down. Yeah, this is a race that's really gonna not be about politicians
as much as it's gonna be about parties because people, I think on both sides
don't want to support their candidate per se. They just want to get their
party either keep it in power or get it in power. And the under vote on this
election is probably going to be in the 15 10 to 15, maybe even 20% range when
people on both sides are not going to want to vote for their candidate. Okay,
Chris, you know, Ken Paxton has blinders on. He's running. He's running
for Senate and at the 250th anniversary of the founding of our country, he's
paying homage to the king. I don't understand what he's thinking. And and
then Donald Trump's been looking for voter fraud for what? 10 years now. And
it was right here. We all we had to do was talk to our own attorney general.
It's right here. I don't get it. Go ahead tomorrow. Have to save a whole
trying to love to show ain't easy to do. You don't know which house you voted
in. You haven't been doing this and you want to talk about voter proud boy,
please. All right, paul. I mean, you know, you can't write this. No, the
the Tallarico team, which is a very intelligent team, should be sharpening
their spear and make it really simple. This is about corruption and corruption
carries and covers this idea of voter fraud and the hypocrisy that's behind
it because he's prosecuting people for the very thing that he's doing. And
they should be focusing on $6 million whistleblower settlement that created
the entire impetus behind the impeachment trial. So if he keeps it
simple, I think he's got to win. But right now what's happening is they're
driving down voters on both sides. I think this will be an undervote issue
and I think that he needs to drive down Paxton's further. Hypothetically
speaking, if somebody filed a criminal complaint on this, who would that
complaint be with? Uh, the district attorney, the attorney general, I want
you to prosecute yourself. It would be in the local have to be the local D.
A. Would have to take it on because it is the attorney general. And so the
only one to prosecute would be the local D. A. In the community where the
fraudulent vote was cast in the state would remove the rogue D. A. Returning
cash from where it came. Democrat for Governor Gina Hinojosa pledging to
write every family in Texas a four figure check if they choose her to
leave the state. My plan is to put $1500 in your pocket because if you
cannot afford to live and thrive in Texas and the American dream is out of
reach. Democrat for Governor Gina Hinojosa stumping around Texas this week
with her proposal to rebate families proceeds from our state's rainy day
fund. Does this sound familiar? It should. If elected governor, do you
think some of that money should be shifted back to the taxpayers who put
it there to begin with? Yeah, absolutely. Greg Abbott is hoarding
our taxpayer dollars and has been doing it for a long time now. That is our
money. Texans are struggling mightily. Just for the record, that was back in
May panel. Good idea or just another short sighted democratic redistribution
of wealth. What do you think tomorrow? You know, when she says this about the
$1500 going back to people, um, that's not gonna sit well with a lot of
people because she said each and every household and you're gonna have people
saying, well, do that mean undocumented people get it? Does that mean people
with blue hair get it? Does that mean people with black hair get it? So you're
gonna have a fight on your hand. And if you do this with the, uh, massive
infrastructure issues that we have in the state of Texas not being addressed
wherever any day fund will be dried up real soon. Paul, uh, when we discussed
this before, you thought it might be a good populist. Oh, politically, it's
it's genius. Politically, is that the right thing to do? Absolutely not. But
politically, if you're saying 15 for you. But here's the other thing. Leave
it to a Democrat to not have this framed as a bumper sticker. Instead,
it's a paragraph. What they should do is come up with something super simple.
So Trump did this beautifully. Well, he took the $600 that was the rebate
check during Cove it and turned it into 2000. 600 doesn't mean anything.
2000. That's real money, right? So go ahead and just say it's $2000. Did I do
something but come up and they were called the Trump economic checks or
whatever? And that was a genius political move, right? What the
Democrats could should do is make this a populist issue. And instead again,
it's paragraphs of things that people have to parse and decide and instead
just say, Hey, this is your money. We're giving it back to you. The rebate fund
is actually the economic stabilization fund. And Chris Tritico, you've lived
through your fair share of hurricanes, right? And getting a governor to to
release any money out of the rainy day fund, you'd have to have a nuclear war
before they use it. I don't know how many times the people have asked
Governor Abbott to and in the governor before him to release funds out of the
rainy day fund for a natural disaster, which is exactly what rainy day fund
means. And they say, no, it's not time to use it. And it just builds and
builds and builds. I think that I agree with Paul. This is a great political
move if they if they play it right. Isn't that because first we wait and
see what we get from the feds and then we'll fill in the gaps. Has that been
the thinking? I don't know what the thinking is on it, but we need to give
some money back. But we need to use it for the what the rainy day issues are.
And those are infrastructure capitalization that used to happen and
the non rainy days that are going on down in Corpus Christi where they're
about to run out of water and figure out a way to get water from up here
where we have lots of it and get it down there where they have none of it.
Should we be bailing out Corpus Christi, Charles? That's a bailout on support.
But if we answered all the other requests that they asked, we wouldn't
have the $1500 to give people. So you don't have any money now, I think. But
no, I think she she could throw out any number and be in benefit from the fact
that, you know, everyone is assuming because it's Texas that their problems
gonna win. So they're not really gonna investigate her numbers too much. She
could say 5000 for as much as she wants, and it'll be fine. All right, we're
gonna leave it there. Up next, a new crime fighter coming to the southern
district of Texas, and he's promising to put a whole lot of bad guys out of
business, bringing the heat and bringing the hammer to the enemies of law,
order, justice and the Constitution here in Texas. In case you don't recall,
that was Aaron writes, who ran a hard charging campaign for Texas Attorney
General as a Republican. The fight in Texas Aggie, former combat marine, top
lieutenant to Ken Paxton and former chief of staff for Senator Ted Cruz, has
been named U. S. Attorney for the Southern District of Texas, one of the
most consequential law enforcement jobs in the country, given the huge volume of
drug smuggling, human trafficking, fraud and, frankly, unfettered political
corruption in need of serious policing. Penal rights pledges to be relentless
adding things are about to, quote, get real bad for criminals in the
southern district. Charles, you know, Aaron. Yeah, we were to follow some
together. I think Aaron's a great guy. I'm excited about this because it's
gonna be bringing aggressiveness of the office that we haven't seen. There's a
lot of public corruption that we all document and talk about that never gets
actually prosecuting. So I'm excited to see this, and I'm hoping that we can
start seeing things all over and all these agencies from H I C to Metro
everywhere else looking into what's going on there. Yeah, folks in your
world are watching Aaron writes closely. Well, absolutely. And this is
a very important position. This southern district of Texas is the most active U.
S. Prosecutorial district in the country, and they've got a lot of work
to do. We've got to get him approved. And with the death of Senator Lindsey
Graham this morning, that process could get delayed, unfortunately, and I pray
for his family. But we need him in office and doing the job and the
Salgado killing could end up on his desk right away. Chris, you practice in
federal courthouse. I do. And I don't know, Aaron, but the southern district
of Texas, under both Trump administrations, has focused almost
exclusively on immigration issues, and they spent all their time down at the
border. Uh, and that's why I think you're hearing like Charles said.
We've got all these other issues that they haven't paid attention to, and
they have not been indicting those issues for during both Trump
administrations. If Aaron is, if Aaron is telling the truth that he's going
to change the culture for the southern district of Texas, it would be looking
at greater issues than just immigration. Yeah. First, it's Paul Castro on this
show and then now writes as U. S. It's a Aggie hegemony. Yeah. So, um, you
know, David's killer was also prosecuted for wire fraud in federal
court. And so there are a lot of laws that fall within that and a lot of
corruption that's embedded. And so, you know, I think crime victims would
wish him nothing but the best upon being confirmed and hoping that he
succeeds. Yeah. And get after the corruption. Thanks to this week's panel
