After strings of bad tenants who have neglected our farm property, we are trying to bring it back to life. Gavin and a couple friends were a huge help in tearing down the old deck and cleaning the place up. We still have a long way to go but we are steadily getting it looking better on the inside and out. Including restocking our fishing pond that seems to have died off. So I added 550 blue gill / bream to start the rebuilding process and will later add some bass and maybe some catfish.

The boys are in a destructive mode.
They got us a recliner on top now.
All right little brim.
So I just whacked a bunch down.
Repetition from my chest that's a bench press.
Seeing more behind the frame.
Future driver feel the shake.
Thinking ain't nobody feel the way I do.
But someone gotta feel the same.
On the bright side.
Yeah this music here became my only lifeline.
Think I'm going crazy.
I'm not in my right mind.
Welcome to my life.
Welcome to my life yeah.
Welcome to my life.
Welcome to my.
The boys are in a destructive mode.
Tearing down an old rotten deck.
They're jumping at the chance of going and destroying stuff.
Hope they don't destroy each other swinging axes.
These boys been putting in the work.
Look at this deck.
Sendo you don't tap out.
It's been a long time since I've seen this without the deck.
All right we finally get to burn all the trash from around the farm and stuff the tenants left.
Boys are doing their own little fire over here to cook s'mores in a minute.
Here's the old deck along with a lot of the tenants trash.
Gotta watch out for the spreading fire around here.
All right fire still going good.
Got us a recliner on top now.
Up in flames it goes.
Let's go check on the young bucks over here.
They're trying to get their s'mores and their little fire going.
How the s'mores coming?
Should have done it before and after.
There were tall trees that have been growing up in this bush and obviously this was all they
were growing.
We got that all done this morning.
Got all the grass cut.
Took me a little while to get that bad boy running.
It's been a year or over a year maybe.
I don't know somewhere in there.
We got all the grass cut.
Look I know it still looks rough.
There's trees growing up all over the air conditioning units.
The tenants just let it go.
I kept telling them how you cut it down.
Trim it back and they just let trees literally grow.
They get these vines down but the boys have already pulled some of this stuff away.
Hauled it off but I cut.
You can't even see now but I cut trees down through there.
Cleaning this place up man.
The boys have been a big help.
Gavin, Sindo and Cooper have been putting in the work.
Work and play.
Here's what we're doing last night.
The boys did a really good job tearing this thing down.
Of course it looks a little muddy but this was the original.
This was before my grandparents had the house.
It was just an odd design like these concrete steps down and then back up.
Which obviously makes a low spot and you can see water has been building up.
So we need to clean that up a little bit but at least that old rotten deck is gone.
I'm going to hit some of this with the pressure washer.
Clean that up a little bit.
See where the boys at now.
They hauling trees.
I've been cutting like a madman.
Little shrubbery up along the fence.
You can see little stubs.
My chainsaw eventually kind of died out on me.
We had that nice big burn pile last night burned down and now
it's full of trees and limbs that we have been just hacking.
Hacking and hacking.
All that fence line looks a lot better.
Cut a bunch of those trees you can kind of see.
On my chainsaw again died.
I got to get it try to crank back up and maybe finish some of that.
Gavin was trimming some of the walkway where those limbs were overhanging.
Hitting trucks and cars that drove by.
Using the four-wheel in the trailer to haul limbs man.
All this crap that's overgrown.
I'm gonna try to hit this with a pressure washer and see.
See what I can get done with it.
It's filling up with water now.
Try to blast all this off.
We'll try to soft wash the house a little bit.
I mean obviously I gotta get those eaves and gutters fixed.
And probably the main is the front of the house that needs cleaned up a little bit.
And then obviously some of the brick.
But this place is just overgrown.
Trying to clean it up little by little.
So this tenant's moving and gotta get it cleaned up for a new one.
Hopefully a better one.
These hungry boys getting some baby back ribs.
Jumbo barbecue sandwich.
A little barbecue pork plate.
A little Lou's barbecue.
They were a little skeptical.
Panned out.
Good stuff.
All right.
Not perfect but a whole lot better.
Couldn't reach some of those vines.
But at least they're dead.
So hopefully they'll fall.
But pressure washing cleaned it up pretty good.
Not perfect.
Porch looks a whole lot better.
It was pretty dirty.
We gotta get new front doors.
Those are messed up.
But all the cobwebs and dirt dauber nests and all that up under there.
A whole lot better.
Cut part of this tree.
Trimmed it up.
And there was several trees growing in this big old bush.
I need to eventually probably cut that old bush down.
But got some of the big ones that were growing up into the gutters.
Again probably should cut some more of that.
Trim some of that up.
Got this section cleaned up pretty good.
Grass I guess will eventually start growing back in.
Probably should smooth it out a little bit.
I need to figure out something more about the drain.
But the old rotten deck is gone.
And it worked out.
This guy's coming by to scrap.
So he's scrapping that stuff.
So that'll help get rid of all this.
I didn't get done with all the pressure washing.
Honestly it was maybe easier just using like a shovel and scooping that.
It was just making such a big mess with a lot of mud and buildup of moss and stuff.
So honestly just need to use a shovel and scrape.
But that cleaned up pretty good.
Got the front door cleaned up good.
That's gonna be it for today.
Didn't get done with everything.
But man we sure made some progress.
All that looks so much better up through there.
And we will continue fixing up the farm.
All right as you saw in the last couple clips we've been updating the farm.
Trying to clean it up from the last tenant.
Well it's been a couple months and something that's not really part of the cleanup.
But it's kind of part of the process of just kind of rebuilding the farm.
Our ponds have just basically dried up.
There's just really no fish anymore.
So we're gonna restock this pond and hopefully get some more bass in there.
So I'm up here at a fishery.
Let's get some brim.
Here's a little catfish.
This is the bass or brim maybe.
I think those are little bass.
All right what you got in here?
Goldfish?
Look like they're being a little shy.
Oh here they come.
They're getting some of the dead fish that are coming through the pipe looks like.
All right I'm here at the pond.
Oh I actually got some cows over in the corner.
And I don't know if there's any life in the pond at all.
I hear a frog.
It's really too muddy to be able to tell.
But let's put some brim in.
So they didn't have a thousand so I'm going with 550.
So I'm gonna do 500 in this pond and then 500 on another pond up on the mountain.
So I have to acclimate the fish to the water for one temperature wise.
Let me figure out where my knife is on this thing.
Yeah it's pretty chilly.
Yeah and that's pretty warm.
So pull a little bit in there.
We'll do a little bit let it acclimate.
Let me get the other bag out.
This is actually very similar what I had to do with a saltwater tank.
Having saltwater fish you had to acclimate them to the water.
Not only temperature but also just the different alkaline and type of water that it's going into.
Just a whole different ecosystem.
Let them get used to it.
Look I see little fish.
I don't know what those are.
But that's a good sign.
So maybe there is life in here.
Adding about 500 brim should be a good thing.
So I've added that whole bucket of water to both of them.
Well I guess it wasn't a full bucket.
But I've done like three different drops of water in there.
It's still decently cooler than what the pond is itself.
But hopefully it's close enough where it's not going to be such a shock to their system.
But I know sitting out here in the sun is not great either.
Time to release the little fishies.
I hope most of them live.
I know some of them look like some of them look like they're already dead.
All right little brim.
Go do your thing.
Go swim.
Be happy.
Live.
Reproduce.
Be good food one day for my bass.
Box number two.
Another 250.
My biggest fear.
If they all just sit here and die.
I do see a few.
Oh goodness please.
Hope you guys are alive.
I can feel them down there.
Oh no.
I hope they don't just die right here.
I feel a lot.
I feel several still down here just laying on the bottom.
Yeah I'm afraid a lot of them are just going to die.
I guess that's why you have to put so many in.
Come on little fishies.
Dang there's a bunch down there.
Maybe they'll.
Maybe most of them will live.
Can't even get down to this pond anymore.
Jeez.
This thing's almost completely grown up.
I mean this is awful.
This is all weeds.
He's not sprayed this in a long time.
The guy that raises this pasture.
I can't even walk through this stuff.
Gosh.
Jeez.
I mean.
I guess this may make for a good fishing pond.
Because of all the coverage.
You can't really get to it.
My word.
You can't even get down here to fish.
I had to crawl down in here.
Just to try to get access to some water.
So I'm starting to mix the water with this fish.
I'm actually surprised there's still a lot.
That was such a bumpy rough road.
Right up here on the four-wheeler.
But they still in there swimming around.
Hopefully they live.
All right Brim.
Here's your new home to the big pond.
There's 50 of them.
Hopefully go and live.
Reproduce.
Have a happy life.
Make a good home.
Help me build a good bass pond.
See they're still kind of hunting out.
Some of them anyway.
Let me take them just a minute to get used to the water.
Still a little cooler.
All right go.
I can feel them down here.
Go little fishy.
Swim.
Go out there and swim.
Maybe they're just content hiding up here.
Oh well.
They in the water now.
I do see some other little.
Those may be little tadpoles.
I don't know if those are real fish or not.
There's definitely some.
There's some activity up here.
So that's good.
They're coming to check out the Brim.
Funny funny.
Yeah look at all the livelihood coming to find them.
Coming to check them out.
Oh there's one of the Brim swimming around.
All right well.
I don't know I'm guessing maybe half live half die.
So maybe 250 live down at the big pond.
And maybe 25 live up here.
So yeah I need to cut the yard.
But we made a good bit of progress since the last time Gavin and them were here.
The house is cleaned up.
You see the deck space.
Now it's kind of weeds growing in.
So I need to spray that.
But the drive looks a lot better.
But I'm gonna get out here and cut a little bit.
And I'll show you the inside.
I still got to do something with all that.
But let's get this thing cut.
I don't know if I showed this before.
But there was a bunch of grass growing up in here.
Killed most of it.
Some of it's still growing.
Still some around here.
Did a good bit around the barn.
Around the silo.
Cut some trees even around that.
Still need a lot more trees to cut.
But slowly but surely.
I finished cutting the grass.
It was really tall down here.
Now I'm about to do some spraying.
This gate section over here is just really overgrown.
So I'm gonna do some spraying.
Spray all the grass that's coming up through the concrete.
The asphalt.
All right.
So I know the last clip y'all saw the concrete.
The asphalt was covered in just that moss and dirt and mud and grass.
So we did get it all scraped.
And it looks really good.
And then I continued to have to just spray.
I just actually sprayed some more.
We can see a little bit of green.
A little bit of grass trying to pop up.
But for the most part.
Yeah the asphalt looks a whole lot better.
I mean obviously it's cracked.
But I just sprayed that grass down there.
Spraying up through some of here.
Again the yard's looking good now.
I got it all cut.
Spraying around the edge of the house here.
Spraying the grass and weeds.
And actually I just sprayed this little area where all these weeds were popping up.
Which I guess I need grass to grow on there at some point.
I'm not real sure what I'm doing though.
So I'm spraying the weeds for now.
Cut down the long drive ends.
You can see most of that grass is dead from spraying before.
A little bit of new grass I've sprayed as I was walking down.
I gotta get my guy to get these fence lines though.
Man they're crazy.
Of course the old barns are just getting worse and worse.
One of these days.
We'll rebuild some of these barns.
One at a time.
I've been getting after with the pole saw.
And all these limbs overhanging.
Scraping the trucks.
So I just whacked a bunch down.
That pole saw is awesome man.
Get in here and get after it.
So much better now.
Open to drive a whole lot more.
Getting cluttered.
So overgrown.
And it cleaned up.
Of course that whole tree needs to be cut down.
But at least they cut the limbs.
The big limbs.
Same here.
All right we're inside the farmhouse.
Again this was my grandparents old house.
And it's had several tenants in it that have kind of abused it.
We had a leak.
And termite damage.
Kind of see some of the damage.
So we're ripping all that out.
Put new boards.
New sheetrock.
This was some flooring that one tenant had put down.
But it's kind of see it's beat up.
Coming up in parts.
Another tenant said she was able to do new flooring.
So I bought the flooring.
And of course she didn't do it right.
See the seam.
It was all the way down one line.
It's dumb.
And then again there was the tenant before her.
Wanted to redo the bathroom.
Kind of halfway did it.
Did a decent job on some of the stuff.
But just halfway did it.
I never grouted that.
Never finished any of this.
Never patched that.
So anyways the new tenant I have coming in.
He's more of a handyman.
So we're getting everything ready for all new flooring.
Get all new flooring in through here.
Which that'll be the flooring.
It's just got to be laid down right.
See it's kind of a construction zone in here where they've been working.
Getting patched up.
Some walls.
Actually patched up these front doors.
Which in one of the clips I talked about it being replaced.
But he was actually I think to patch it pretty well.
So I think it's pretty solid now.
We'll have to test it out later after it gets sanded and painted good.
In this room.
We'll get done.
Actually put in a door here.
And then again.
Gonna redo this bathroom.
Get all this ugly wallpaper out.
I did have a guy put a shower in before.
Again patching up the holes.
Ripping out bad sheetrock.
Termite damage.
Just got a sheetrock.
Again patched sheetrock.
And then flooring.
So that's kind of the farmhouse.
And I'll give you another update when we get further along.
So yeah that's it for the farm update for now.
Thanks for tuning in and we'll catch you in the next vlog.
Subscribe my man Murph Squad.
Let's go.
Shout out to the boys.
Welcome to my life.
