Video Summary
AI GeneratedJason reports live from Key West during a cruise on the Celebrity Reflection, sharing travel tips and mishaps. The discussion expands into a comprehensive review of entertainment news, including Emmy nomination predictions, celebrity updates, and Broadway news, before concluding with a Dairy Queen taste test and lighthearted banter about luxury living and local driving.
Every day, every day.
Here we go.
Let's make it a good day.
Every day, every day.
Shake it out every day.
Every day, every day.
Oh, they say.
Shake it out every day.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Now, here's Jason.
Welcome to the show.
Jason is maybe land now.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He might be off of cruise one.
I'm not sure.
I'm Falun.
This is Pierre.
Great to be back, everybody.
Happy to be filling in.
I did get a call from Jason last night.
A call or a FaceTime.
Okay, so Jason is infamous for doing like a cold FaceTime,
like where he just FaceTimed you out of nowhere.
And I almost always ignore that because it's like, that's it.
Like, you need to give people a warning before you FaceTime them.
No, he cold called me last night.
I had there.
Oh, God, if you are right now.
Joining us live from God knows where.
Sabotage, Jeff.
Sabotage.
Hey, Jase, just talking about you, my bestie.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
I love that I surprised you in mid-bitch about me.
I love that.
That's beautiful.
It's so accurate, too.
No, I texted Jason last night.
I said, I'm going to get ice cream at our favorite ice cream place.
And he was jealous.
And he's like, I'm in the ocean.
I'm like, now, when you say you're in the ocean,
are you on the cruise ship or have you gone overboard?
We need to send help.
Yeah, also, real quick, Jason, when I called,
the first thing before he said hello to me or when he called me,
it was him yelling at Colin, get me a pina colada.
I hope you got one.
I hope you got one, Jase.
I did demand that Jason check in.
It's barely 11 o'clock.
Okay, Jason.
It's barely 11 o'clock.
How was the cruise?
The cruise is great.
So, right now, we are at a port.
We're in Key West, right off famous Duval Street.
Behind me is one of my favorite places that we'll get to in just a second.
But, yeah, so this is our first port.
This is cruise one, the Celebrity Reflection.
And this, we have Bimini tomorrow.
And then we're back here in Key West just for a couple days before the second cruise.
But it's been great.
You will laugh.
Both of you will laugh.
I've already been to the medical center.
What?
Why?
What happened?
I got a big flare-up of, I think it's called bursitis in my big left toe.
Oh, no.
And I couldn't walk.
So, I had to go down to the ship hospital.
And they gave me two shots in my back.
I was so, oh, yeah.
Seriously?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did it make you go away immediately, though?
Like, are you good to walk now?
Oh, girl, we're running a marathon a little bit later.
I mean, my feet are good, girl.
My feet are good.
I could chase some of these roosters that are there.
I was just about to say, I've been down Duval Street.
I know a bunch of roosters running around there 24 hours, seven days a week.
Yeah, there was just one here.
But I think I scared it away.
I think it's never seen gay people before.
Yeah, it went away.
But, no, it's been great.
I think Jeff has some pictures to put up.
We've had a really, a really great time.
It's been real relaxing.
And it's just been great.
This is, you know, I love Celebrity Cruise Line.
This is one of their smaller ships.
Wait, wait, what are you laughing at?
What are you looking at?
Colin's broken sunglasses.
Oh, okay, let me explain that picture.
So we are, we just checked in at the check-in for the cruise.
We sit down in the waiting room to wait to board the ship.
And Colin pulls out his glasses.
And they immediately fall apart in his hand.
One of the screws fell out.
So, Fal and Pierre, we looked like crazy people.
Both of us, two grown men, are on the ground in this waiting area.
Looking around like we're looking for our contact lens.
Looking for a screw that's literally like that big.
I go, Colin, I think we're going to have to surrender.
We're going to have to surrender the dream of finding this very tall,
or this very tiny screw.
So, luckily he brought two other pairs with him.
Okay, now we're moving into your cocktail collection throughout Cruise 1.
Which, by the way, on the phone last night,
I did dub Jason for my daughter Olive.
Drunkle Jason.
Best name ever.
Olive can call me that forever.
Absolutely.
We've had some cocktails.
We've had a cocktail or four so far.
Yesterday was a sea day.
I will tell you, though, it is, well, hello, it's July.
It is as hot as the devil's armpit, man.
The feels like temperature on the ship yesterday was about 115 degrees.
It was no breeze, full sun.
It was crazy hot.
You could only really be outside for about 30 minutes before getting into a pool
or going to take an air conditioning break.
It was really bad.
We're in the shade right now, but even here in Key West, it's really hot.
I think the real feel right now is about 100.
I've already tried to cool off.
I had sweat stains coming into this.
We stepped into one of my favorite watering holes to cool off before we went live with you guys.
Jason, you mentioned you're in front of one of your favorite places down in Key West.
Tell us a little bit about where you're at.
I put together a little list of some of my favorite things if you're planning a trip to Key West.
I think the first thing I wrote is my fave restaurant, and that is the Square Grouper.
Everyone likes coconut shrimp.
They have some of the best coconut shrimp on the island.
It's a little off the beaten path, which I love.
It's not overly touristy.
It's a little off where cruises dock.
Again, Square Grouper, great fresh seafood, locally owned, not overly touristy.
The next place I think I put my fave hotel, and that is the La Concha right on Duval Street.
It's a Marriott property, so if you're a Marriott loyalty member, you will get some mad points.
It's our favorite, favorite hotel, not overly expensive.
It has a great mid-century Cuban vibe.
They have a great Cuban bar that looks out all over Duval Street with some of the best mojitos,
or as my family calls them, mojitos.
They have a great coffee shop at Falun.
They have a great cafe at Falun that I thought of you because I know you love a good coffee drink.
Falun is that great.
They use only great Cuban espresso.
It is so, so good.
It's called El Dom, and it's connected to La Concha right there on Duval Street.
And finally, Pierre, what I was referring to is this is my favorite.
You know, I love a good dive bar, and I love to save some money.
Behind me is my favorite dive bar.
It is the Green Parrot.
Colin and I have spent many a dollar and many an hour at the Green Parrot.
It's just a good old-fashioned, no pretense, not fancy.
Locals go here, so you know it's good.
Cheap drinks and just a great vibe.
You think of a good dive bar kind of feel to it, that's the Green Parrot.
Again, it's right off of Duval Street.
Great bartenders.
Yeah, and you know, Falun, you know I love a good bartender.
So Valerie is my favorite in there.
Does the dive have pull tabs or a meat raffle, Jason?
No, there is no gambling here, and there's no meat raffle.
Oh, look, there's a rooster, Falun.
Let's go look at the rooster.
Let's go interview it.
Rooster, how long have you lived here?
What's that rooster's favorite dive bar?
No, come here.
Look at this big rooster, Falun.
Here, look at that thing.
Hello.
Hello, Mr. Rooster.
They are all over Duval Street.
That's crazy.
Jason likes going places with loose roosters because Hawaii has a lot of loose roosters too.
They do.
I know.
I should get that tattooed, loose rooster.
There's a joke there somewhere, I think.
I don't know.
There is.
I'm not going to touch it.
No, it's just.
Yeah, Pierre, go ahead.
I just had a quick question for you.
Have you been to the Garden of Eden down on Duval Street?
Is that a strip joint?
No, come on now.
I wouldn't venture into places like that.
Why don't you take us to the Garden of Eden later on this evening and then report back to us tomorrow.
Let us know how it is.
Do we need a hefty amount of singles to go there, Pierre?
No, not at all.
It's another fun bar.
It's a bar.
It's a fun bar.
You'll enjoy it.
Colin, have we been to Garden of Eden?
Pierre swears it's not a strip club.
I swear it's not.
I also love that Jason's on vacation.
You just sent him on a reporter assignment and said report back tomorrow for our show.
Jason, we miss you.
Everyone's saying that they miss you so much.
So now we have one week.
You guys are doing a great job.
One week and like two and a half days left until you're back.
I'm not trying to shorten your vacation here, but you'll be back soon.
No, I get it.
We'll be back soon, and I promise no illegal FaceTiming.
I won't FaceTime you illegally.
No, I actually want you two on vacation, but make sure Colin is shirtless.
Okay.
All right.
Have a great time.
Hold on a minute.
Yeah, there's Colin with the good hair.
What's up, Colin?
I hope you guys have a great time.
Enjoy yourselves.
Oh, Brewster.
Brewster.
That's perfect.
Thank you.
Thank you for coming to hang out with us.
Jeff, thanks for that surprise.
No heads up on that.
Love you.
Have a fun vacation.
We miss you.
Love you guys.
All right.
We're going to go.
We have a fast food field trip today, by the way.
We do.
What is Garden of Eden?
It's a three-story bar, and after a certain hour at the top of the bar, Jeff is already
nodding his head.
He knows where this is going.
You can take your clothes off and walk around naked.
It is a strip club, but not in the traditional sense.
It's not really the one you asked for, and you probably would pay the people to put their
clothes back on, ironically enough, at this place.
I do hope he reports back then.
Okay.
We're coming back.
Much more to come on The Jason Show.
That's how I do it with Brewster.
Brewster.
Throughout the show.
I don't know, but I'm going to watch what I say, just in case.
Reporting live from Garden of Eden.
It's just a blur over him.
Yes, it has to be.
All right.
Let's do it.
Time for today's hot dish.
Let's do it.
It's a big day in Hollywood.
Emmy nominations come out today ahead of the 78th awards in September, and yesterday we
found out Mariska Hargitay is going to host the show on NBC, and this is going to be the
first hosting gig for the eight-time nominee.
As for the awards, a few shows are expected to be the big nominees.
They don't come out until like 10.30, so we don't know what they are yet, but here are
some frontrunners.
The drama category, The Pit, is the likely frontrunner after winning a bunch of awards
its first season.
Other shows in contention include Pluribus and the Netflix show The Diplomat.
I've only watched The Pit.
I didn't watch Pluribus.
I didn't watch The Diplomat either.
Diplomat, we're getting double thumbs up from Jeff.
Yes, we are.
And Bjorn.
And another thumbs up from Bjorn for The Diplomat.
Oh, Pluribus is from Bjorn.
I've never even heard of Pluribus.
Jeff gave that like a...
That one's like where the world is ending, or kind of like they have like a big thing
and like half the world ended and...
Yeah.
Okay, go check the...
Just Google it, and then you'll figure...
Okay.
Turning to comedy.
Yikes.
That was not good.
Hacks is the frontrunner after its final season, and it was a wonderful season.
Like, I love Hacks so much.
Okay.
Did you?
No.
I have not seen Hacks.
No.
All right, you can leave now.
Apple TV's Widow's Bay is expected to earn a bunch of nominations as well in the comedy
category.
This is the one I've seen over and over again that people were surprised and delighted by.
I watched the first episode of Widow's Bay.
I haven't gone back.
I've been told I should go back.
At the end of the first episode, it leads me to believe it's kind of like this ghosty
zombie kind of thing, and I'm not really into that at this point.
But Jeff's shaking his head.
He's like, it's not really like that?
No?
All right, maybe I will go back to Widow's Bay.
What I've been told is you have to get to, Jeff, correct me, you have to get to episode
four.
Okay.
And then there's no turning back from episode four.
Okay.
And it's kind of, like I've heard, it's like funny, it's hokey, it's dark humor, but then
it'll actually be scary.
It does have Matthew Rhys as the lead character, who I like.
I think Matthew Rhys is great.
So good.
So I'll go back to it.
I'll go back to it some more.
That's one that Jake and I want to watch together.
Unfortunately, I do fall asleep around 7 p.m. these days, so we haven't had time yet.
Finally, the limited series categories.
Obviously, Love Story, JFK Jr., and Carolyn is the likely front runner, along with season
two of the Netflix show Beef.
I did watch Love Story, and I thought their acting, both of them, they did a really nice
job.
I mean, it helped that he looked identical to JFK Jr., but she was phenomenal in that.
It never ceases to amaze me how you guys have me back on the show as I contribute next to
nothing in the entertainment category.
I have not seen either of those, actually.
What do you watch?
What do I watch?
No, I'm not watching a lot of WWE these days.
Jeff, come on now.
These days, I'm watching a lot of documentaries, if I'm being perfectly honest.
Suddenly, reality is striking me as a lot more interesting than some of these fiction
stories that people are coming up with.
I don't know.
Do you have a documentary you watched recently that you really like?
The most recent one that I can think of was, I don't remember what it was titled, but it
was a documentary about Martina Navratilova and Chrissy Everett, the rivalry, the frenemies
one.
Yeah.
Really good.
I thought that one was really good on Netflix.
Jason just reviewed that on Friday and just said how amazing it was.
It was great.
I do remember Martina Navratilova, the tail end of her career.
I'm old enough to remember that.
I never watched Chrissy Everett play.
I only know her as a commentator.
Watching this documentary and how good she was and how much of an icon she really was
at the time, I had no idea.
I thought it was a fascinating documentary.
Okay.
I told Jason I would watch it again.
If I say it past 7.30, I might check it out this weekend.
Very good.
The Emmys take place on September 14th.
Up next, it's good to be Zendaya, I think for many reasons.
Let's be honest.
She's married to a great guy.
Aside from that, Zendaya is just talented.
She's beautiful.
And people are still talking about her red carpet look from the premiere of The Odyssey
on Monday night in London.
Get this.
Her stylist, La Roche, got the dress just hours after it walked the runway at the Chipotle
show in Paris over the weekend.
I saw the video of this.
He literally was there.
There he is.
Grabbed it.
He flew the dress personally from Paris to London for the premiere.
Now, the craziest part about that tells me she had the exact body of a runway model because
there would be no time to...
Yeah.
I mean, maybe you could do like a quick pin, but that is like a very fitted bodice corset
thing that would have to fit her body perfectly.
And she pulled it off beautifully.
Ten out of ten.
I mean, that was absolutely...
That was a gorgeous dress.
It really was.
She's always on red carpets kind of like the one to watch at this point because she just
kills it every time.
No doubt.
As for the movie, Zendaya plays Athena, the goddess of wisdom and warfare.
But she didn't even know she had a chance to get the role until her husband, Tom Holland,
who also stars in the movie, told her.
I was already excited because obviously Tom had this conversation before I did, and I
was like, nowhere in my mind did I think that I would get to also be a part of it.
So I was already on cloud nine for him.
And then just that happening, I think, was a little bit of like, I remember he came home
and he was like, I need you to read something.
And I was like, is that the thing that we were just reading the other night when we
were telling it?
And he was like, yeah, but now read it thinking of this character.
And I was like, shut up.
Like, you're joking.
That's awesome.
Yeah, it was pretty cool.
What I've seen from everyone on this press run is apparently, I knew that Christopher
Nolan's a big deal, but that is like apparently the dream call to get is to work on a Christopher
Nolan film.
I mean, he produces great movies.
How can you argue with what he's been able to put out, even though yesterday I did call
it Dunkirk boring.
I did.
I mean, it was cinematically it looked beautiful.
It was greatly shot, but storyline.
Well, they said that she earned a perfect from Christopher Nolan, like on a like a scene
and that that's like unheard of.
And everyone else has been very jealous that no one else got a perfect from him.
So it's a big deal.
After the Odyssey, Tom and Zendaya are going to start in the next Spider-Man movie, and
that comes out on July 31st.
That was a lot of that.
We were talking about this.
A lot of superhero movies have kind of bombed this year, but that one is definitely going
to.
I think we got I think we got an eye roll from Bjorn over there with the next Spider-Man
movie.
I don't know if he's wild about that.
No, he said I like him.
That's just his reaction when he likes that.
A lot of Zendaya overload for you.
OK.
Well, also, she's going to be in the new Shrek movie.
She was a euphoria this season.
She's in everything.
Basically everything.
That's true.
From movies to Broadway, some of the big news is that it came out yesterday.
My queen, Dolly Parton, made a big announcement.
Well, hey, it's Dolly.
And I have some big news that I'm so excited to share.
I can officially announce that Dolly, a true original musical, is coming to Broadway.
And you're invited.
Now, the musical has some of my big hits, plus a lot of brand new songs that I've written
just for the show.
This really is a dream come true.
Dolly says the show will tell the story of where she's from.
And previews begin in December with the show opening in January.
Have you ever seen Dolly perform?
Not not live.
No, never.
Never had the honor of doing so.
She is so impressive.
So impressive.
An amazing songwriter, smart businesswoman, kind, giving, just a few things.
But one thing I love when I go to a show and they're just great storytellers in general,
she's one of the best.
So she has such a hard upbringing, but she doesn't look at it that way.
And so she'll tell really great stories.
And they've made like TV show episodes and movies based on like the code of many colors,
things like that.
So I can imagine her putting together a really good story for a Broadway show with her music.
Didn't she recently open like convenience stores or something like that?
Isn't that what she did?
Isn't it like a gas station, basically?
A truck stop.
Yeah, to kind of compete with Bucky's, sounds like.
Listen, Dolly's great and all, but I mean, to try to compete with Bucky's, that's a tall task.
If anyone can, though, it's Dolly, I guess.
You're absolutely right.
Next to the dish, cashing in on the wedding of the summer.
Someone tried to sell a bag of air they saw.
What?
They say it was collected.
What?
At Madison Square Garden on the night of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.
You get this.
It's listed on eBay for $50,000 until, of course, eBay removed the listing.
So I guess this is what I'm guessing.
Someone went with a Tupperware container.
Yeah.
And they like just scooped the air and then quickly put the lid on maybe something like that.
And the show has reached a new low.
Well, that's not all.
I've also seen people selling trash from the wedding.
Do we have that?
Yeah, one guy actually did sell some trash and he did make money.
It wasn't taken down.
Now, Jeff said that this was actually cool.
That's a quote from Jeff.
It was collected outside the arena.
The website, nycgarbage.com, collected items found on the night of the wedding.
They include cigarette butts, water bottle caps, even one single air pod.
An artist put them into a sealed, like sealed cubes.
And then all the items actually sold out at $25 each.
I do think we're in a world where people are having a difficult time even buying groceries and gas.
Why are you spending $25 on a water bottle cap that was maybe at Taylor Swift's wedding?
No plot, no fake applause for that one, Jeff.
You're absolutely right.
Yes, she's 100% right.
This is the other thing, too, especially coming from the world of sports.
A lot of people I know, they buy these items that were game-worn jerseys or gloves.
You need to have them authenticated.
A lot of people want them authenticated.
How would you even know whose cigarette butt that was?
You've got to go down to the DNA testing.
Yeah, to DNA testing, yeah.
You are, if I recall correctly, you're a big fan of the Killers.
Favorite band, yes, indeed.
I can't remember many things, but for some reason your favorite band is locked into my mind.
Would you buy a water bottle you knew Brandon Flowers drank out of?
No, but I would buy, there's a specific jacket that Brandon Flowers wears.
It's black, but the lapels are all very colorful, kind of Flamingo Hotel style.
I absolutely would buy that jacket and frame it, though.
How much would you spend?
I'd probably spend up to, I'd probably go up to $1,000.
I'd probably spend $1,000.
He'll understand later. He'll understand.
I was going to say, would your wife approve of that $1,000?
Listen, after the push president, I'm about to buy my wife.
Listen, she's going to let me have that jacket.
I have a good idea, so yeah.
Okay, I need to know what that is off the air.
I'm guessing, yeah, we can't surprise that and ruin that for her.
No, no, I can't ruin it now.
Okay, well more dish is still to come.
We'll come back with that.
Mr. Jason joined us earlier, but he will have another appearance a little bit later in the show.
I have to admit to you something real quick, too.
I was actually in on that as well.
I found out that he was going to be joining.
So everyone knew but me.
Wait, I read the rundown you sent.
Did it have, okay, there it is.
I'm glad I did, though, because I was a little bit.
The real one?
I was a little bit panicked when I saw the first block of the rundown had nothing written in it.
I said, oh, God, what's happening?
Okay, well, as we told you yesterday, Tiffany Haddish is taking over for Jimmy Kimmel on his show this week.
And last night she hit the streets of Hollywood to play a little game.
So let's go out to Hollywood Boulevard for my new game, smash or pass.
Smash or pass?
Hard pass.
But his eyes said, I'm going to live inside of her body.
I'm sorry for snitching on you.
I'm a body language reader.
I can tell what you want by your eyeballs.
That's a pass for me.
Pass for you?
Absolute smash.
Girl, you're going to have a long conversation about this later on in the car because he just looked at you like his feelings is hurt.
I'd smash.
Honestly.
Damn right you better smash.
Of course.
What you doing after this?
I got time.
Okay, because I'm ovulating.
You look like you would make a pretty baby.
Well, I think I could.
How old are you?
18.
Never mind.
Pass.
Smash or pass?
Pass.
Pass?
Why?
Beard.
Smash or pass?
Honestly, I got to say pass on that one.
Why are you passing on Jimmy?
His eyes are a little squinty.
I'm going to pass.
You're going to pass on Matthew?
Yeah.
Pass.
Pass?
Yes.
He's a little old for me.
Definitely no.
Definitely a no?
I don't know about him.
Smash or pass?
Smash.
That's actually a good bet.
We should take photos of our show out and about.
Oh yeah.
Just, oh no, Eric gave a thumbs up.
Is he going to go do that?
Eric's feeling himself in his tracksuit today, so that's why he's like, let's play this game
100%.
We did this bit on the radio show before, which also would work for us.
It was very funny where we went to the college campus around here, the U of M, University
of Minnesota, showed pictures of each one of the radio staff members and asked, what
do you think they do for a living?
And that was eye-opening and hurtful.
But can I just tell you?
Please.
So there's a girl on our show, Jenny, who's like mega hot.
But all the college guys were into me.
Hey!
Listen.
OK.
I'm happy for you.
That's fantastic.
Thank you so much.
It's week five of Auditions for America's Got Talent, week five of 187 weeks.
One act earned raves last night for their mix of lasers and dance.
OK.
Can't wait.
Lasers, they got a golden buzzer from host Terry Crews.
And you know, when I watch that, I will say, you know, you kind of look and you see what
would actually be a good act in Vegas.
100%.
That's the first thing that came across my mind.
Not exactly Blue Man Group, but maybe in that category type thing.
How dare you?
Blue Man Group, they're comedy legends, OK?
So let's not go comparing these dancers to comedy legends.
I'll be honest with you.
I never go to Vegas for the shows.
I can tell you that right now.
Good to know.
It wouldn't be an AGT without a balancing act.
So you can check out what this guy had that had judges squirming.
I mean.
He easily made it to the next round.
Yeah.
OK.
All right.
That's cool and all.
And I'm impressed.
But at the same time, it's like balancing act?
OK.
Whatever.
What's it like to have core strength?
Tell me about it.
I don't know.
Yeah.
Awesome.
I mean, no shade.
But at the same time, it's like.
Well, I would watch that for 10 minutes.
But then I'd be like, what else you got, my guys?
Yeah, exactly.
Exactly.
I mean, no.
He's practiced on that for years, I'm sure.
And here I am like, what's next?
I'm going to get a sternly worded letter here after the show.
Finally, a magician you have to see.
Cameron Marshall had the judges each pick a card.
And then check out what happened next.
For the first time, what were the cards that you guys picked?
Simon?
Three of clubs.
Three of clubs?
Yeah, hold them up.
Turn them.
Ace of hearts.
Okay, and then.
Queen of spades.
I got the seven of diamonds.
That's actually insane.
In that order too?
Yes.
Yeah.
Well, I committed to doing magic for basically my whole life.
I've been doing it for 13 years.
I got my very first tattoo.
And it was on my four favorite cards.
Imagine if it was an exact match.
The three of clubs.
Well, that witch slash warlock, he advanced as well.
I feel like that's like some dark magic right there.
I have to admit, I'm an absolute sucker for magic.
I love it.
And all the stuff that people are like, how do you do that?
I don't want to know.
I don't want to know the illusion and the showmanship of it all.
I love it.
I'm just a sucker for magic.
I really am.
There are two sides of that to me.
At first, I'll be like, no, I don't want to be.
No, can I not?
Like, I don't want to be the person that draws the card and has to be like, oh.
You know what I mean?
I feel like it's like when you're at Benihana, like a hibachi.
I have to act like for like 20 straight.
I don't want to perform the whole time, right?
But then every single time I'm like, oh my gosh, it's so good.
I love it.
I saw Siegfried and Roy one time make an elephant disappear offstage.
Wow.
It's unbelievable.
That's all I remember.
That's it.
You don't forget something like that.
No, you don't.
After the break, our latest fast food field trip.
Spoiler.
Yeah, that's everything on one about this today.
He's upset over an upset yesterday in the World Cup, but in honor of the World Cup,
something new is at Dairy Queen.
They actually launched three new global flavor blizzards last week.
They have a mochi blizzard.
They have a Biscoff cookie and a Mexican style hot chocolate.
So, of course, you know, the Jason show crew is like, well, we got to try that.
Absolutely.
So, Jason, executive producer Jeff, photographer Eric, and Stephanie Hansen hit up DQ for the
latest fast food field trip.
We haven't done one of these in a while.
I know.
Look at your britches.
They're plaid.
Uh-huh.
They're called window pane.
You got the pane part, right?
I got ducked last week.
What is that?
Okay.
Don't you know about the Jeeps and the duck?
What is that?
It's a duck.
People that own Jeeps, they carry ducks and they duck other Jeep owners.
I got ducked.
It's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life.
Actually, Consumer Reports does rate Jeep like the worst, but you probably know that already.
Wow, we're in here three minutes and she's already Debbie Downer telling you that your
car is low rated.
I know.
Also, you know what, though?
I don't like cars that are too safe.
Every alarm would go off.
You'd touch the middle line.
Give me an airbag and a steering wheel.
I'm good.
And brakes.
You would have been great in the colonial times.
Jeff just owns a car that any child has a chance of dying in.
Yeah, right?
No children are allowed in this car.
Three.
Two.
Playing about something?
I like a lip balm moment in the morning when I'm coming to work.
Yeah, I always have mine in my car.
But this heat and humidity, it melts my balm.
Well, don't leave it in your car.
Look, it's empty.
Well, don't leave it in the car.
Well, I'm not going to carry it around.
Did it run out, like, into your...
It's inside the crevasse of the thing.
Oh.
Three.
Two.
All right, here we are.
Stephanie Hansen.
I love that you do the three before she starts talking.
It's my show.
Stephanie's introing it like it's a special edition of Taste Buds.
So today on Fast Food Field Trip,
we are going back to Dairy Queen
to try some of their summer flavors.
They're actually World Cup flavors, Jason.
Oh, they're World Cup flavors?
No!
That's so annoying.
No!
What?
Bro, what is that?
I am not...
The Norwegian soccer fans all...
Yes, I'm here for all the very physically fit men.
And I'm here for the dances.
And I'm here for the food.
Okay.
But I haven't watched any of this.
What's the food?
Texas Roadhouse, ranch dressing.
Oh, I love Texas Roadhouse.
You know what?
I've never been to Texas Roadhouse.
What?
Oh, my gosh.
Ever?
I have, like, a billion.
Why do you have coupons for Texas Roadhouse in your car?
Someone that used to be in my family works there.
So I kept the coupons, but not him.
Muskrat.
I love muskrat love.
I don't like that one.
A little muskrat noise.
My brother and I used to shoot muskrats with our BB guns.
That's so great.
We would go to...
Here comes the email from PETA.
I love getting those.
It was the early 80s.
PETA didn't exist then.
They exist now, and they have a typewriter.
Believe me.
No, we would go to the town dump.
That was, like, my favorite thing on the weekend,
was going to the dump.
High times in the small town.
Let's get in the car.
We're going to the dump.
Do they still have dumps?
Yes.
I just don't go.
We have fun.
I took you to the dump.
I let you shoot my gun at some rats.
Well, shooting rats at the dump is not my idea of a good time.
Why not?
We brought sandwiches.
If you could have an outlet, any outlet, what would it be?
Louis Vuitton.
Oh, that's a good one.
Never pay full price for luxury items.
A tip for all those people out there.
Man of the people.
I can't afford luxury items.
First class.
It's a lot better than the other places where you can sit on the plane.
You know what keeps you warm?
Fur.
You guys should go get furs.
She thinks she is the man of the people.
I like a colored diamond, you know, not just the white ones.
What brand yacht do you guys like?
You know, here's a tip for you yacht owners.
Buy your gas before you leave the port.
Who's paying for the DQ?
I think the one talking about Louis Vuitton.
Not the thrift store, kid.
There's a lot to unpack here.
You missed it because you weren't here that day, but Jason gave a hot tip.
Like when he went to see a Broadway show, his tip was to sit closer.
It's a better experience.
Really?
Yeah.
Wow.
It's crazy.
And on an airplane, if you can sit like in the first, like the front row, like the first class, it's a better experience.
I hear you might get off the plane sooner, actually.
You might.
Well, part two is when they actually will eat some food, and so we'll see that next.
We'll be right back.
Welcome back.
I'm curious how this is going to be, if it's going to be good or not.
Me too.
Before the break, you saw the start of the latest fast food field trip.
Now it's time for Jason and the crew to actually taste the three new blizzards and one extra item that they got.
So we can take a look here.
Now, this is the DQ, Stephanie.
Remember, with a red light and a green light.
No, I didn't.
We were here once before, though.
The last time we were here, we were with an Olympian, not you.
No.
Thank you for reminding me.
We are not the Olympians.
Here's a flashback opportunity.
Don't create more work.
God.
Sorry.
Is this the first time we've had an Olympian in your car?
Yes.
Are we going to get one of each?
Sure.
Yeah.
And we can just share?
We can just share.
What size should I get?
Small.
Okay.
Well, I don't want you to yell at me.
I want three small blizzards, one Biscoff, one of the mango mochis, and one of the Mexican-style hot chocolate.
And then can I also get the Stars and Stripes misty slush float?
Thank you.
Oh, we can go.
It's already green.
Oh, look, Eric.
Get a shot.
Hold on.
Let me get a shot.
But wait.
I want to know what the cross traffic is here.
Again, we've talked about this.
There is no cross traffic.
Turtles, geese.
Yeah.
Wild **** turtles.
Do you want to expense that?
No, I'm good.
Thank you.
Have you guys noticed that everything is now like $5?
The $1 things are $5, the $3 things are $5.
That's what I'm telling you.
You've got to buy secondhand luxury items.
I already hit the dumpster like Jeff does.
I have never dove into a dumpster before.
I have.
At Bed Bath & Beyond, there was all kinds of good stuff in there.
I hiked right in there.
Grocery stores, too.
You can eat good food.
We shall start with the patriotic slushie.
That is adorable.
But it's like ice cream Mr. Misty.
It's a Mr. Misty for America.
That's good.
The kick of the raspberry and the cherry mixed with the creaminess of the soft serve.
I wasn't sure I would like that.
That's pretty good.
Giving me brain freeze, but it's great.
Just think about it on a hot day.
I'm going to give that a 7.
Jeff?
I'm going to give it a 8.
Oh my god.
Hanson?
1 to 10.
9.
I'm the lowest scorer.
I feel like Kariyanna Nava.
These are the World Cup Blizzard flavors.
And the first one, I'm going to get this out of the way.
Mango is my least favorite flavor of anything.
Really?
Yes, I hate mango.
Like real mangoes?
Anything.
Mango's here and he's here to say, get out of here.
I'm going downtown.
What is it called?
Mango?
It's like mango, mochi, strawberry something.
Are these inspired by global flavors?
What's mochi?
I'm trying to think.
Rice?
Yeah, it's a rice gluten.
There's probably mochi rice balls in there.
Is that what that is?
I don't know.
Just put it in your mouth.
I don't want to look at it.
Oh, I like it.
Oh god, I hate it.
Yeah, there's little mochi balls.
I don't want balls in anything.
All right.
OK, I'm giving that a 3.
Jeff?
I'd give it a 7.
Stephanie?
A 5.
Come on, little piggy.
Step back.
There's got to be something in HR about calling your boss piggy.
Yeah, I think so.
You think I'm the boss of him?
Our next flavor is Biscoff.
That's the cookie speculate.
10.
I already know.
It tastes like they crumbled up some cookies in a vanilla ice cream.
Yeah, I'm disappointed.
I wanted that to be a home run.
I want more gingerbread flavor.
Me too.
I got to give that, I'm sorry, like a 5.
4.
A 4?
It needs more flavor.
OK, open that one up.
It's kind of boring.
Ooh, Mexican hot chocolate.
Mm.
Did you get something chewy?
Mm-hmm.
What is that?
Is it a raisin?
I don't enjoy that one.
Oh, I like it.
No, that one's a 5 too.
That one's a 6 for me.
I just don't know.
It's so many things going on.
They're not all of them pleasant.
I don't know what the chewy thing is.
3.
Really?
I did not like it at all.
Oh, I like it.
Yeah, I might decrease mine to 4 the more I think about it.
This though, what an unexpected delight.
OK.
I'm going to be sick.
Wait, I can't turn there?
Oh, I'll have to turn up.
Girl!
Please.
The driving in our town is getting worse.
It's getting worse.
I know, I like it.
What are we waiting for?
I have a theory, and I'm not going to say it out loud because I'll get canceled.
Ah!
Don't scream.
I was watching.
I thought you were going to get the pilot.
I was watching.
It was a little scary.
They should get hit.
I'm texting.
He's going over the lane.
People with black license plates in Minnesota are the worst drivers in the world.
Every time I get angry, it's a black license plate.
What's that mean?
Because they have that new fancy black license plate.
Oh.
Oh, I get angry.
You have to pay extra for it?
Yes, because they want to be bougie.
And like, ew, it matches my car now.
Shut up.
All right.
So that guy in front of you is a bad driver.
Where?
Right there.
Yep.
Right there.
He's crossing over the line.
Somebody made some stupid mistake.
Yeah.
He's way on the line.
And his windows are over-tinted.
I agree.
Tip police.
Old people complaining about things to do.
Those young kids and their dark windows.
Shut up!
Jeff's not wrong.
I mean, the driving in this town is just the worst.
Now I'm going to notice the black license plates all the time, I guess, and see if it's connected.
I do pay extra for my plates, but I get the ones that support the DNR or the local pollinators or birds or whatever.
That's the one I do.
Can I just say one thing about Dairy Queen?
Absolutely.
The chocolate dip cone to this day can't beat it.
That first bite of the chocolate dip cone on a hot day, go with what got you there, Dairy Queen.
It's absolutely fantastic.
A little peanut buster parfait.
An OG as well.
It seems like the consensus was that you guys didn't love those very much.
Jeff, you were the nicest about it.
You like the red, white, and blue.
What was the red, white, and blue one?
You give that one a thumbs up.
It's already gone.
Oh, it's already gone.
All right, let's all move on.
It's not going to happen for you, all right?
We'll be right back.
Excited to try these.
Now, this is going to be controversial.
For Pierre to come face-to-face with Leslie Miller again, she'll be her wine diva with the hottest new drink trends, including pickle-flavored beverages.
Oh, my God, it's like a personal slap in your face.
Plus, I'll be sharing some of my favorite baby products for Pierre and his wife.
Now, remember, it was probably a year ago now.
He said wine is what?
Overrated trash beverage is what I said.
And then Leslie called him out, and then Pierre admitted on the show this week he hates pickles.
So, for Leslie to come in hot with pickle-flavored drinks is honestly chef's kiss.
I don't know how this perfect storm has come over me at this point because I love Leslie Miller.
But, you know, she's probably never going to speak to me again after tomorrow.
And you were so excited to try the drinks.
Are you still?
I'll try them.
Absolutely.
100% I'll try them.
All right.
Also, we have a little Emmy update, like a quick one.
We'll get to that when we come right back.
We did get the Emmy announcements.
Kind of the predictions we made and that everyone was making came true.
Leading the nominations was The Pit.
25 nominations for The Pit.
Wow.
I didn't know there were 25 categories at the Emmys.
Seriously.
One of your favorites?
Hacks is number two with nominations.
24 for them.
So, they're right behind The Pit.
I'm guessing both the lead and the back.
A lot of supporting actors.
Okay.
And, obviously, Gene Smart probably got nominated.
Okay. Perfect.
I hear great things about The Pit.
People keep trying to get me to watch that show.
It's very good.
If you like a medical drama, it's good.
Is it like ER-style good?
Sort of.
It's very good.
I'm going to leave here now and ignore the rest of my work day
and go watch everything so I can catch up for tomorrow.
And get Dairy Queen.
Oh, yeah.
Got to get GQ.
Obviously.
Yeah.
All right.
Thanks for watching.
We appreciate it.
Have a great day.
Bye, everybody.
Bye.
