The Whole Reason to Take a Disney Alaska Cruise!

A Disney Alaska cruise has one day everything else builds toward: Glacier Day — and honestly, we think it might be the whole reason to book the Disney Wonder in the first place.

Every Disney cruise has a "this is the moment" day, and on an Alaska sailing this is it. Up on deck you get photos with Mickey Mouse and friends in their Alaska-exclusive outfits with the landscape behind them, while the Disney Wonder sails through Endicott Arm to get up close to Dawes Glacier.

Then we climbed onto a tiny expedition boat — the Glacier Explorer — to get closer than the Wonder can go, and that's where the whole day changed. A glacier calving right off the bow, and a "Glacier-rita," the most ridiculous drink we've had all trip (yes, that's a real piece of glacier ice in there — we explain).

The Disney magic keeps going with the Frozen day-at-sea experiences the Wonder runs on Alaska sailings: the deck sing-along party and a special Frozen dinner. We'll let you judge whether the theming actually lands or just coasts on the movie.

So the big question we keep coming back to: is Glacier Day really worth the entire cruise? Come find out with us in this Disney Cruise Line Alaska vlog.
