Château le Fy Esneux

B

Château Le Fy was built in Esneux in 1904-1905 by Paul Saintenoy, an internationally renowned architect, for Jean-Édouard-Jules Van Parys, Ernest Solvay's son-in-law. Built by Freemasons , the château, situated on a rise, as is the case for most châteaux, is said to have deliberately overlooked, according to local folklore, the village church. Occupied by the German army after the death of its owner (1915), then becoming the property of François Paul Lefévre, an engineer in China, in 1923, it was requisitioned again during the Second World War.
