Happy 250th, America.
Back in 1973, during the Vietnam War,
my mom and my dad and three other couples
in the neighborhood on Roberts Avenue
tried to generate a little patriotism
and stitch this big American flag,
marched it down King's Highway,
and we've been doing something patriotic
in the parade ever since.
Hi, my name is Chris Maines,
and I was born and raised in Haddonfield
and lived here most of my life.
The Haddonfield Parade has been going on for decades.
We have done something every single year since 1973.
USA!
It's not just us.
It's the whole neighborhood pitches in.
Happy 250th.
Happy birthday, America.
We don't use the flag every year,
but it's a big year being America 250,
so we're gonna do a float and we're gonna carry the flag.
The Haddonfield 4th of July Parade,
it's been going on for well over 70 years.
The parade is organized
by the Haddonfield Celebrations Association.
Happy 4th!
God bless America!
Well, we celebrate our town.
You know, we were part of the revolution.
Happy 4th!
Even with the heat, everybody was happy,
ready to go.
My family was always part of the parade.
We would always lend a convertible to the parade.
It's a great little reunion
for all the different organizations.
We're here.
I hope they're still doing this 250 years from now.
Happy 250th!
I'm dressed as Gabe.
I'm dressed as Lafayette.
I love America because there's nice people.
Happy 4th, baby.
I came to the United States at 14 years old
from the Dominican Republic.
I feel like America is a place
where you can make your dreams come true
and then I want to inspire everybody else.
Hi, happy 4th!
It's just so much multicultural.
I'm originally from Jamaica.
That's where I was born and raised,
came here 13 years ago,
and I love America.
Happy 4th!
This is the first time I've done a parade with a crown.
I'm usually in uniform.
I spent 24 years in the military and I loved it.
Happy 250.
250 years from now,
my hope is that America has the enthusiasm
and the patriotism and love of country as Roberts Avenue.
First place, baby!
We're, you know, maybe from different backgrounds
and may have different politics or whatever,
but we're friends and it's a great place to live.
Cheers to Roberts Avenue!
Woo!
