AI GeneratedRose introduces her new YouTube channel, Unblock Creative, by sharing her three primary creative goals for 2026. Her objectives focus on expanding her knowledge through art books, completing a specialized art course, and mastering color theory to improve her watercolor painting and plein air practice.
Hi my name is Rose and this is my very first video on my channel Unblock Creative. I thought a great
place to start would be just reviewing a few of my creative goals for 2026. So here are my three
goals for 2026. My first goal for 2026 is to read a book a month, an art book a month, and then I
would love to be able to post it on this channel. I really love art books. I have a small collection
that is growing rapidly as I start picking them up and devouring them. I find art books to be a
really great resource to get you offline and into your crafts and your mediums without you know
getting the distraction of YouTube. Ironic I know that I'm talking about it here on a YouTube video
but I do really love them. I like to keep a few around the house and I pick them up and I read
them. I look at the pictures I find them very beautiful and these three here are ones that I
don't I have not started working through yet. This one here Ever After I received as a Christmas gift
from my lovely husband and I read the introduction but I haven't done any of the tutorials yet
and I have this one that I bought in the summer with the intention of working through it a little
bit when we took a summer vacation to the cottage and vacation took over and I never really got
around to doing this quiet peaceful art practice that I was hoping to so this one's on my docket
as well and then recently I just couldn't resist picking up this book called Funky Florals and I
have started working a little bit through it so this will probably be the first one that I review
and talk about on the channel here but these are also I wanted to share as an example the types of
books that I would be looking at and just what gets me so excited. I started diving into art
books last year and I've really found them helpful as a way to just elevate my art and I just want to
get more and more plus the beautiful collection pieces so one of my goals for this year is to
pick up one new one every month and work through it and see what I can learn by going through
some of these beautiful art books as well as expanding my collection. My next goal is to
complete Fodder School 5. Fodder School 5 started in November of 2025 and it's going to go mostly
through 2026. I've been able to complete one little project. I missed the November one because
I was a little bit busy but I was able to do this one through December. I have a few other little
mini pieces of these mini canvases that they taught us but they taught us some nice techniques
to make fodder and we applied it to these cute mini canvases and I had a really great time
so I really because I spent the near I think it was like 300 some odd dollars to join Fodder
School for the year I want to make sure that I get my most value out of it and that I really
participate in it so I want to go and be able to complete everything over the course of the 2026
including going back and missing some of the the sessions the first session that I missed
and and I also took a fodder challenge and I wasn't able to do most of the fodder challenge
because I was busy at work so I want to be able to go back and complete it all and as a way to
help guide me I started creating a fodder school journal so I have the cover here that I need to
make still but I took notes for what I learned in December and just what I enjoyed and just
creating a little bit of a journal so that I can keep my notes and just as a little bit of a
reminder of my lessons so I have a dedicated art journal just for fodder school and fodder challenge
and I really want to do this and work on this throughout 2026 and my last goal for 2026 is to
learn color theory so I I like to learn watercolor I've been playing with watercolor and a few months
ago I splurged on this Roman Schmahl palette this is the urban sketcher palette this was my first
professional grade palette before that I had a lot of larger palettes with 48 colors or I have
a large one by Medan that's 98 almost 100 colors and I really enjoy working with I guess you call
them convenience colors but I decided that I wanted to try and experience what it felt like
what the difference was between a high quality grade palette like this Roman Schmahl versus
you know what I would consider more of like a crafting grade or I think they talked about it
as student grade and I was really impressed with the vibrancy and the richness of the colors and
just the dynamic that is in available in the colors here in I don't know the right words to
describe it but um I really love them but then I found that I was really limited by the colors
so it kind of occurred to me like well if you learned um color theory this palette is I believe
intended to be mainly a mixing palette so you have all your base colors that you can mix most
of the colors you want and then a few convenience colors that you might find in an urban setting
I think this is the intention of this palette so in order for me to use it and maximize it
I would like to learn more about color theory so I can actually mix my own colors I do like
plein air painting and I would like to be able to bring something like this with me instead of
a large clunky palette with a hundred colors in it I just think this would just be more practical
and I would like to do to learn how to use this so that I can take it out with me this summer
for plein air and also just because I think at this stage in my learning that um color theory
would be important for me to understand so I can mix better I do have an eventual goal to
get more into higher end professional grade watercolors as well but I thought before I
really invest in that learning color field color theory would be the great place to start
so that's it for my goals for 2026 really just three main goals but I hope that also gives you
a little bit of a foreshadowing of what you might come to see and expect on my channel
I do really love mixed media I love watercolor and I love anything creative and expressive and
I'm just hoping this year to really lean into my creativity overall as well and find a creative
outlet and my biggest goal for this channel in particular is to engage with community and maybe
meet other friends who are like-minded and creative and just interested in this as a hobby
so here's to 2026 and seeing where life takes us
