I never sell or give away bows - but a good friend asked me to make a re-enactment bow, a low draw weight longbow, and I set myself the challenge of meeting the exact requirements - 30lbs @ 28 inches draw. That should be easy I thought. How wrong I was! Tillering a bow has always been hard for me - but tillering to an exact draw weight took me to a whole new level. Quite a challenge for me. The bow is made of ash, fraxinus excelsior, which was growing in our wood just a few weeks ago and was taken down as part of tree thinning to give other trees space to grow. From wet wood to a longbow in just a few weeks.
