Hey everybody, welcome back to the channel. Thanks for checking out this video. This is
more of a kind of an informational video I wanted to do real quick to show the differences between
the Luxury Plus and the Premium Plus on the new Lexus GX550. We sell quite a few of these and I
get this question a lot from customers. Quite frankly there's not a lot of information out
there on this and so I figured yeah let's do a quick video to make this quick and easy so
people know what the differences are. The car I was going to use in this video I sold over
the weekend so I'm going to do it with my wife's car so you'll have to bear with me here. This is
a 2025 GX550 Luxury Plus. So we'll kind of start on the outside. First major thing, power steps.
Power running boards are standard equipment on the Luxury Plus model. They are not available
on the Premium Plus. Second, you get these illuminated. It's difficult to see. I'll put
in a picture here but these actually illuminate and light up as well as when you open the door
here. The doors have this little light here. It actually shines the Lexus insignia on the ground
which is kind of a cool thing. Tell me that isn't kind of cool. It is kind of cool. The Lexus lights
up and we've got it on both sides. Pretty groovy. Also, 22-inch wheels. The wheels are different.
Now I have changed the wheels out on my wife's car and put a set of wheels off of a Trailhunter
Tacoma or 4Runner on it but the Luxury Plus comes with a 22-inch wheel. The Premium Plus has a 20-inch
wheel. Here's the difference between the two wheels. It's pretty cool. Moving inside, a couple of other
big differences. The Luxury Plus has the Mark Levinson sound system in it. The Premium Plus does
not. Easily recognizable by the Mark Levinson thing right there. I think it is nice. I don't
know that there's a massive difference but it is something different that you get.
You'll notice right here the Premium Plus does not have this little button on the seat.
This is a leg bolster extension thing which is kind of cool that you won't get on the Premium
Plus. That is on the Luxury Plus. The seats are different. The Luxury Plus has actual real leather
seats where the Premium Plus, the Premium, the Overland, Overland Plus, all the other options have the
fake leather. The pleather, leatherette, whatever you want to call it. The Luxury Model has actual
genuine real leather. The seats are very similar. You'll notice that the stitching is a little bit
different on the seats on the Luxury Plus. And here is the big difference. This is the big
ticket item that you're paying for by going to the Luxury Plus right here. Massaging seats.
Not gonna lie, it is a pretty cool feature.
Kind of cool. So you get massaging seats at the Luxury Plus, not available on the Premium Plus.
Third, the center console cool box. It's pretty easy to recognize it because of this right here.
If you have the cool box, you have this little extension that comes off the back of the center
console. You do not have that with the Premium Plus model. Now, what is the cool box you say?
Well, let me show you. It's exactly what you think it is. It's a little air-conditioned cool box.
Push that button, blows cold air in here, keeps your drinks cold. Now, Lexus does not recommend
transporting fish, poultry, meat, anything like that in here. So if you're looking to transport
those things, that's a no-go. Lexus frowns upon that and they tell you about it right there.
Now, moving on. The rear-view mirror camera system. Kind of cool. You either love it or you hate it. I like
it. My wife does not. But that is standard on the Luxury Plus, not available, ironically enough,
on the Premium Plus model. And here is the real thing that is pretty groovy. The panoramic sunroof
on the Luxury Plus model. Now, the Premium Plus has just the regular, standard, regular old sunroof.
This is a fixed roof. It does not open or close, but it does do this. You see this button right here?
Watch. You press that button and the glass goes opaque. It is pretty stinking cool. I'm not gonna
lie, I had never seen that actually done or happening or anything. Now you've seen it in this video.
Poof. Kind of a cool feature. And then, if you just want to close the whole thing off, you obviously
have the cover that goes over and covers it. But, not gonna lie, magic button. Pretty stinking cool feature.
Heads-up display. Standard on the Luxury Plus, optional on the Premium Plus. However, I have yet
to see a Premium Plus that did not have it. They all pretty much have it. So, standard equipment on
the Luxury Plus. Moving to the second row, not a lot of big differences. Obviously, the back of the
center console is different. That's your dead giveaway. The other thing is rear window sunshades.
That is standard on the Luxury Plus, not available on the Premium Plus. So, if you think that's groovy,
you're gonna need to get a Luxury Plus. Both of them are available with a 60-40 split bench
or captain's chairs in the second row. It's available on either one. Outboard seats are
heated. That's on both models, the Luxury Plus and the Premium Plus. The rear HVAC controls.
Everything is the same. The only difference is the cool box has this different thing on the back of
the center console. So, if you are ordering like WeatherTech mats or aftermarket floor mats or
something like that, that is one thing to keep in mind because they are different for the Luxury
over the Premium Plus. Power steps, you can watch them go up. Very groovy. Back here,
nothing really any different. Honestly, it's pretty much the exact same thing. Power liftgate on both
of them. Everything works, operates the same. They both have a 50-50 split power folding third row
seat. Premium Plus and the Luxury Plus both have this. If you get the Premium, it's manual. It's
not power. But in the Premium Plus, they do have a powerful third row seat. Pretty groovy there.
Other than that, everything else back here is the same. Again, the only difference is
genuine leather over the leatherette, pleather, whatever you'd like to call it.
Power liftgate, everything like that works the same. Again, power steps,
sunshade. That's because my child sits back here. That doesn't come with it, obviously.
The seats work the same way on both of them, just to tumble forward. Not power on the second row.
They're both manual, but very easy to use. Very easy to go back and forth with.
And over here on the passenger side, really same thing. Not any real differences. Got the
Mark Levinson stereo. The massaging seats are on both sides, passenger and driver in the front.
These are also ventilated. That is the same on the Premium Plus as well. They're ventilated on
both of them. Other than that, center console layout, everything is pretty much the same.
You've got the Qi wireless charger right there. You get that with both of them.
If you get a regular Premium, it's not going to come with the 360 camera, so you won't have this
button. But the Premium Plus does have the 360 camera, as well as the Luxury Plus. That's going
to be the same across both of them. Other than that, you guys, that is pretty well it. Powertrain
choices are the same. Exterior trim is the same. They both have the gloss black on the front bumper
and trim on it, where the regular Premium does not have the gloss black. It's more like a matte
flat black. But that's the same on both of them. So that's pretty much it, you guys. Hope this
video was somewhat helpful at just showing you some of those quick differences between the Luxury
Plus and the Premium Plus. You do pay a fair amount for those differences, so it's nice to
see what you're getting. Hope this helps. Have an awesome day.
