The living room — wrapped in a blue inspired by the drawing room in Pride & Prejudice, perfected after 500 viewings of the film — features two seating groups, a mix of chintz and ikat, a prized Joni Mitchell painting above the fireplace, an 18th-century white-painted Georgian mirror, and no rug — the client's deliberate choice to let the extraordinary wood floor speak for itself.
