There’s a Victorian mansion in Tarrytown, New York that stands as one of the most striking Gothic Revival time capsules in America — a castle-like Hudson Valley estate with original interiors, custom furniture, artwork, stained glass, decorative objects, and more than a century of family history still preserved inside. Designed by Alexander Jackson Davis and later owned by railroad magnate Jay Gould, Lyndhurst Mansion captures the drama, beauty, wealth, and mystery of a true Victorian Gilded Age home overlooking the Hudson River. This home was also the set for many scenes of HBO's The Gilded Age.
Welcome to Lyndhurst Mansion — a rare Gothic Revival mansion and Victorian Gilded Age time capsule in New York’s Hudson Valley, preserved with the furniture, artwork, interiors, and stories of the families who lived here.
