Step inside one of Colonial Williamsburg's most beloved homes as we visit Bassett Hall, the retreat of John D. Rockefeller Jr. and Abby Aldrich Rockefeller. More than a beautiful residence, Bassett Hall became a center of the Rockefeller family's vision to preserve and restore Colonial Williamsburg for future generations. It's one of my very favorite places.

In this episode of World of Beauty & Magic, I am joined by Ron Hurst, Chief Mission Officer of Colonial Williamsburg, for a fascinating conversation about the Rockefeller's extraordinary legacy, the restoration of Williamsburg, and the enduring importance of history, beauty, and stewardship. Together, we explore the rooms, collections, and stories that reveal how one family's passion helped shape one of America's most treasured historic destinations. Ron is a wealth of knowledge and it was a pleasure to spend time learning with one of the top experts in the World.

Bassett Hall is located in Williamsburg, Virginia and is open on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:30am-4:30pm.

Whether you love historic homes, antiques, design, American history, or simply beautiful places, I hope you'll enjoy this visit to Bassett Hall and the remarkable story behind it.Subscribe for more journeys through historic homes, museums, collections, gardens, antiques, and the people who keep beauty and history alive.

We always invite our viewers to look for the beauty and keep the magic in their hearts. Thank you for joining us!
