Restoring Rome: Restoration of a Rare Gordian III Provincial Coin (Adrianopolis)
Video Description
In this video, I demonstrate the detailed process of restoring and cleaning an ancient Roman provincial bronze coin. This coin was minted under Emperor Gordian III (238–244 AD) in the city of Adrianopolis.
The reverse of the coin depicts Apollo holding a branch and a bow, standing next to an altar with a crawling Python wrapping around it. Watch the step-by-step preservation process that brings this beautiful piece of Roman history back to life.
