Introducing a rescued elephant to a new friend is not always easy. Just like us, they connect with some elephants and not with others. Some prefer to keep to themselves and remain independent, while others form close friendships within a herd. Elephant friends can even have a falling out, sometimes reuniting later and other times choosing to go their separate ways.

Chu Jai, who has a hip injury, was rescued in 2022. Jim Jim, who suffered years of abuse from the bullhook, was rescued in 2021. For years, each followed their own path. But finally, after four years, they have formed a friendship, finding comfort and companionship in one another at Elephant Nature Park.
