ELANI: ONLY YOU VIDEO / ALBUM LISTENING PARTY

What's up, what's up, what's up, what's up my people, you know it's the captain, they call me all the time, the hashtag, the captain. I'm out here at Jay's Bar and Grill and you know I'm here for Elani's album launch. I cannot wait to see them tear the stage apart, it's gonna be superb. Remember, they were on switchboard over the weekend, but right now, before they actually hit the stage, they're gonna walk around, meet a few people, you know, just get to know what they expect and, you know, get to also know what they think about, you know, Elani's disappearance and now them coming back with a band, right? Let's do this, let's go. Victor Mahina, what up bro? What up, what up, how are you man? Yes sir. So bro, real quick, how about you tell people who you are and what you do? My name is Victor Mahina, I'm a photographer, videographer, yeah, I'm a filmmaker. Hi, my name is Rahema, I work for an oil and gas company, but I'm here to support my friends. I love art, I love music, and music is Elani, like, cheers, you guys are doing so well, I'm so proud of you. I don't know where to start, but my name is Maureen Waititu, I'm a content creator, a business woman, a mother, and many other things. Hi, my name is Shiko Karioki, office admin and a commercial model. Elani, I can't wait to see you perform tonight. Anyway bro, I wanna know real quick, why are you here, what do you expect tonight with Elani on the stage? I'm chilling bro, this setup is amazing, it's great to see what the homies Elani are doing. Mad love bro. First of all, I am a huge fan of Elani, huge, huge fan. Bro, I expect nothing but the best, you know, these guys are legends, we forget that they've been like 10 years plus in the game. So, I'm expecting high quality, I'm expecting amazing love songs, and of course, man, beautiful people. I don't know, I'm really excited to see something new, interesting, different. I have a couple of friends who are BGVs for the new stuff coming out, so I'm here for my people. That's nice. Always there for your people. So these guys, they make music that is closer to yours. What do you, in terms of sound, what would you say is the difference between your music and their music? I would say I'm a little bit, these guys, I really look up to them, man. You know, they're very well put together, you know, very fly and whatnot. I'm a bit more reckless. You're like thunder. Yeah, I'm a bit more reckless, but man, I see the similarity and I'm happy to be here, man. So Elani have been here for a while now, but they came, they disappeared, but now they're back. Why do you think they disappeared, do you know why? And if you don't, what do you think they should add to what they used to have to be different? I actually had them over on my channel and I asked them why they disappeared, and they did not answer. So even me, I don't know why they disappeared and came back. But I think Elani were one of those people who are already original when they came in. So I don't think there's much they need to add. They're one of those people who came in and just hit and took off. So yeah, I just hope that they keep up. One, two, three, go! Hey yo, you're back with the Captain. I'm hanging out with DJ Joe Falme, the baddest. This guy, I don't know about the background, but he's one of the biggest in Africa. He's played everywhere, Europe, in the States. He's played at Big Brother and he's been doing this forever, man. Joe, what's up? How are you? I'm good, man. So Elani are launching their new album. I'm excited to see how it's going to be. When I got the call, I knew I had to come. When someone calls you in person, out of respect, you come. For sure. So what is it for you stands out for Elani? I mean, I did the interview when they came on board. Oh! And so, I remember one of the things I said is, I asked them where they got the inspiration for all the music that they have in the album. And one thing they said is that they got it from people's experiences, their own experiences, people's experiences. And they said that this music is for everyone. If you've ever been in love, this is an album for you. And for me, I just wanted to experience that for myself. I mean, we've all been in love. Haven't we all been in love? So, are you in love? I declined to answer. I think for me, it's the fact that these guys are songbirds, man. And me, I love the way, I just love the way they sing. There's another thing I like about Elani, as in, it's the fact that we can sit down and listen to their songs. I listen to 3-piece and I hear a cappella. Wow! That's what I like about Elani. So, for me, I'm looking forward to seeing how the live performance will be. Definitely, I'm sure they're doing it live. So, yeah, I can't wait. What do you love? Yeah, yeah. So, what exactly, what would you say you look forward to see on the stage? I'm excited to see what they've been working on. Because, you know, there's been a bit of a silence. And now they're back. So, I'm just, I'm really curious. Because, I mean, I've never hated. I've always loved their music. So, I'm just excited. It's like, when you get another dosage of what you like. So, yeah, me, I'm here for the dosage. Kaboom! You got it, you got it, you got it! My man, Victor, let's go. I don't know. I don't know what they've been up to. Especially, the artist is already lost, and then they come back. Yeah. I want to see them in their state of mind. In how they perform, how do they do everything. Because, from interacting with them, they're very authentic. In everything that they do. So, I want to see how they put that on stage. How they pull off those performances. State of mind. This girl, too intelligent. You need to go. Let's go. It's just a matter of the execution. Because, you can sing. It's like DJing. Killam Bridges are the same songs. But, what makes you stand out? Exactly. So, I think, for me, whatever they sing about, if it's love or anything. I think, for me, they stand out because of that. Because of how they execute the song. It's about to change. But, that's another story. That's the story that we're about to get into. So, we just wanted to explain to you what the story was. So, that you can, when you listen to the album, just know that this is the story that we're telling in the song. The songs are arranged in order to tell the story that we're about to tell you. Hey, you're back with the captain. Elani just killed it. The album is called Colors of Love. It's out now. You're going to find it everywhere, on every platform. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Rankings are my pansy on all platforms. My pansy, my pansy. Mdundo. Yeah. Deezer. Everywhere. Yeah. On the 31st of October, that's Halloween. Only you, our first, well, our third single, the first red single from Colors of Love is going to be out. On the 31st. The 31st is tomorrow, just so you know. Tomorrow. Yeah. So, check out their YouTube channel. Just wait for it. If you haven't subscribed, just click on it and just wait for it. Yeah. So, real quick, I want to know. I'm just going to ask five questions that the fans want to know. First of all, do we have any international or any foreign artists on the album? So, the actual album, the album that is available right now is an Only Elani album. Wow. Fantastic. Only us. Yeah. But there are several songs that we have remixes for. Yeah. With some really cool people. Wow. That we can't tell you right now. Just one. No, no, no, no. Just know local and international superstars. One. Just tell us one, Brian. Just one. Alright, alright, alright. Just back on up. You're going to know who. Secondly, I want to know these guys look so fresh. How do they do this? Oh. What's behind this? You guys look so fresh. Oh, so awesome. So. My, my, my, my salon. So, our hair. Yes. My salon. So, our hair. Look at this cool thing. What's done at my salon. My salon. Our faces are done by. Oh, this is also my salon. Makeup by Tricia. We will tag her. In fact, we will tag all the things on our social media. Tricia Mwendwa. Tricia Mwendwa actually is the sign-in for almost all our music videos. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It has. It's amazing. Clearly, she knows what she's doing. Yeah. Fantastic. So, the video that is going to come out tomorrow. Right. Is featuring Tricia Mwendwa. It's not really all you guys. You know. Usually, it's just you guys on the video. What was the inspiration behind that? Why did you feel like you wanted to involve someone else? So, Only You is the kind of song about like. First of all, even the words. Only you. It's about one person. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All your focus is on one person. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, we thought who do we know. Yeah. Who are vloggers. Yeah. First of all. So, basically, the whole music video is a vlog. Yeah. Imagine like a day in the life of One Zero Zero. Yeah. So, like Ben is the guy behind the camera. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he was actually there the whole time. The whole shoot. He was the guy behind the camera. The whole shoot. So, we teamed up with Ben Psycho and One Zero Zero. Who are amazing, phenomenal. Yeah. YouTubers and Instagrammers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just to show that side of life that's a little more playful. A little more fun. Yeah. And they were so awesome. And they came through in such a big, big way. Awesome. We love you. We love One Zero. I love you, baby. Brian, real quick. Yeah. Lastly, I want to know. What does Elani. You guys have been away for a while. Yeah. Who is the bang? I want to know. Who is the bang? Yeah. What does Elani have now? What is the spice you've got now that you didn't have earlier? Let me tell you. The drive we have. Wisdom. A lot of wisdom. Yeah. A lot of good quality content. Yeah. Like, it's fire. We're going to put East Africa, Kenya on the map. Yeah. It's time. It's time, isn't it? It's time. It's time, isn't it? It's time.
