10th Kyu Syllabus | Shihan Michael Monaco | IFK Kyokushin Karate Seminar
During the IFK Arizona Seminar, Shihan Michael Monaco (8th Dan), President and founder of USA-IFK, reviews the IFK Kyokushin 10th Kyu syllabus while explaining the principles that form the foundation of effective karate.
Topics covered include:
• Proper fist alignment and striking surfaces
• IFK target selection and body targeting
• Hip rotation and power generation
• Body mechanics and posture
• IFK blocking methodology
• Rhythm, timing, and coordination
• Developing strong kihon fundamentals
• Building habits that carry over into fighting and advanced training
Rather than simply demonstrating techniques, Shihan Monaco explains the purpose behind each movement and how correct fundamentals develop more effective karate over time.
All seminar demonstrations were performed by Senpai Dominic Veltre under the direction of Shihan Michael Monaco.
Special thanks to Shihan Bill Schrader, Sensei Omar Covarrubias, and the members of Kaizen-Kan Dojo for their hospitality.
