When I was 15 years old I was introduced to the Southeast Asian martial arts, the first of them being Kali, also known as Arnis and Eskrima. Kali is the martial art from the Philippines and what makes it so unique from other traditional martial arts is that students begin training with weaponry. Completely backward from other martial arts like Kung Fu and Karate which begin first with empty hands and then introduce weapons at the advanced levels.

In this video, Paul Ingram gives a brief introduction to the art of Kali as well as some fundamental stick drills you can immediately get started with today!
