The 8x24 House by AHL Architects is a compact urban residence in Ngọc Thụy, Vietnam, designed around a series of courtyards that maximize natural light, ventilation, and privacy. Organized as four separate volumes connected by three landscaped outdoor spaces, the house turns inward to create a calm living environment while shielding itself from the surrounding city and harsh western sunlight. Through its simple concrete architecture, preserved vegetation, and seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, the project demonstrates how thoughtful design can transform a narrow site into a bright, comfortable, and nature-connected home.
