The Hawaiian butterflyfish (Chaetodon tinkeri), also known as Tinker’s butterflyfish, is a rare and elegant deep-reef species found primarily in the Hawaiian Islands and nearby central Pacific regions. It has a striking color pattern with a pale gray to white body crossed by a bold dark vertical band through the eye, followed by a contrasting orange-brown patch on the mid-body and darker shading toward the rear. The fins often have subtle yellow highlights, adding warmth to its appearance. This species typically grows to about 12–15 cm (5–6 inches) and inhabits deeper reef slopes and drop-offs, often below common recreational diving depths. It feeds mainly on coral polyps and small invertebrates. Its limited range and deep habitat make it a prized and rarely seen butterflyfish. #Seaanimals #Nature
