21 Leg Technique Exercise | Shihan Michael Monaco | IFK Arizona Seminar
Often referred to as "21 Kicks," this exercise combines a series of kicking techniques into a continuous sequence designed to develop balance, coordination, control, timing, focus, and technical precision. During the seminar, Shihan Monaco taught multiple methods for practicing the drill, including variations in speed, rhythm, and complexity.
All seminar demonstrations were performed by Senpai Dominic Veltre under the direction of Shihan Michael Monaco.
Originally developed by Hanshi Steve Arneil, the 21 Leg Technique Exercise is a well-known part of the IFK curriculum and has been practiced by generations of IFK students. The drill develops kicking skill, endurance, coordination, and body control while reinforcing proper technique and body mechanics.
Special thanks to Shihan Bill Schrader, Sensei Omar Covarrubias, and the members of Kaizen-Kan Dojo for their hospitality.
