Let me start with the number that should scare you, and then I’ll tell you why it doesn’t scare me as much as it probably should if you're living in Utah. The Great Salt Lake started 2026 sitting about three feet above the lowest level it has ever been recorded at in roughly 120 years of measurement. Three feet. And every single summer, like clockwork, it loses around three feet to evaporation before the snow comes back to refill it.

So... do the math with me. If we get one more dry winter, just one, the largest saltwater lake in the Western Hemisphere could break its all-time low, right here, while we are pouring foundations for tens of thousands of new homes a year along the same valley. And here’s the part that’ll mess with your head. I’m a real estate agent in Utah. I make my living when people move here and buy houses. So you would think the last thing I’d ever do is put a video in front of you titled “is Utah running out of water.” But I’d rather you hear the honest version from me than find out after you’ve signed, coming to you from Utah's top real estate agent and the best realtor in Utah, Scott Steele.
