What is magic math? Magic math is the act of playing with numbers in order to trick your friends and family and bring them the same number or answer every single time. Mental math is actually a way to get your child thinking about those mental strategies that are carried in their heads in a way that is quite informal.

It is considered a hard step to practice mental math with your child because you will never know what is going in their heads and sometimes the kids themselves might not be sure of the process that they should be using. This is one of the magic math tricks that would help the child to follow some specific steps in order to bring the same number every single time.

At the beginning, parents should try this game on their kids in order to help them in understanding how it should happen and once they give the child the chance to be the ones in action, they should let them try it several times until they grasp it all and manage to do it easily without even thinking about the calculations that should be done.

At the beginning, let the child choose a number that is smaller than 10 to make the process of making the calculations easier, and then move forward with asking them to square that number they have chosen to make it harder and let them learn to do a little bit more difficult calculations.

The steps for this game start with asking the other person to think of a number, double that number, add 6 to it, halve the result, and then finally subtract the number they have first thought of from the whole equation. The answer for this game should be always 3 but the problem is that the child will not be knowing what the other person is calculating and thus might get the wrong answer from them without being able to correct any of their steps or wrong calculations.

The magic math tricks are always interesting for the kids because without even realizing, they will be doing different calculations and learning to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and will be also doing all these things with big numbers without even realizing that they are practicing math in their games.

While playing this game with your child and teaching him/her the magic math tricks, try to explain some mathematical words for them, such as explaining to them that double is the same as adding the same number or multiplying by two, and mentioning that to subtract is the same as taking away, etc. These will help the kids to understand the process more and know exactly what they are supposed to do.

There are different tricks to play with the kids and teach them how to make it on their friends and family and what are the different steps that should be taken. Every single magic math trick follows specific steps and brings out a different final answer at the end, but sometimes the answer could be the same but the steps are different. There are actually lots of tricks out there with different steps, but eventually they all come to the same purpose which is tricking friends and family. As much as these tricks are used as a kind of playing some games, they are also helpful in teaching the child different mathematical operations and making it easier for them to do some calculations in their heads.

The level of difficulty will be always chosen by the parent teaching the kid and the level he/she is at in school, because some might have not yet learned how to multiply or divide while others have crossed this stage a long time ago, so the kid will always find the mental math trick suitable for him/her and his/her friends.
