ptma Architecture - A Found Object - in Bronte
This short film illustrates our design for a renovation to a terrace in Bronte, Sydney.
The home will be open for tours in Sydney on 17th May 2026 as part of Sustainable House Day.
You can book your ticket here - https://sustainablehouseday.com/homes...
The project was unfinished at time of creation of the movie. However the film and interviews capture some of the benefits which good design can achieve for building owners.
In this case, our clients wanted a less leaky home. Less cold in winter. Less hot in summer. Less damp. More working power points.
But also needed: more sunlight (any sunlight), more space for their growing kids, more outlook to new engaging courtyards, more connection to neighbours and the street - but with improved privacy.
Within weeks of moving in, the clients enjoyed days at the house through a summer heat wave (at or over 40 degrees outside for consecutive days.) Comfort, without needing to turn on the air conditioning.
By reimagining the home on the site - while still keeping the core of the original home - our design helps balance the sustainability of the project (reducing waste) against the comfort and amenity needed for a growing family into future decades.
The film is created by Ravens at Odds www.ravensatodds.com
The builder for the project was Pioneer Projects
