Saturday Joglo - Inside a Stunning Jungle Joglo Designed Around the View

Hello, Bali interiors. My name is Anna. Welcome to my home. Let's take a peek in my paradise. Okay, so this is the main part of the jogla. And in traditional Javanese meaning, this main part, this is the center of the house where everybody from the morning until the evening sit here and talking. For the time when you spend with family, friends, when you invite the guests, my idea with the sofa was to face sofa to the jungle. So I like to sit here when the sun set because sunset is there. So sunset light comes inside. When I saw this part and I understand the color palette of this art, absolutely like 100% matches with the colors of my house, the colors of the rug, of furniture. Okay, this is small coffee table, which I designed and then produce. All this made from metal. So this is very, very heavy. These strange legs also like made not perfect. So when we do instruction for the firm who produce it, we say like, please don't make it perfect. Make it ugly, like ugly design. And these crystals, my idea was to have a table with some small pieces of crystal, but the production cannot make it. So they just send us a table with holes. So we put it by ourselves. This is like a little bit ugly design with not perfect texture and color with some stains, but I like it. I want to make absolutely similar like it have now. We found the land with a beautiful view to the jungle. Our land was end in Subak and zero level of the land was quite high. And until Subak, it was like minus four meters. So we decide to elevate all land to zero level and we elevate all structure, all foundation approximately like four meters. First of all, the view, yeah? So you see the view, the beautiful view, you see only leaves, you see only trees. So you never see the soil. And second, the light, yeah? So if you elevate from the jungle, of course the light will be like more beautiful. So this is our kitchen area. It was my big dream to use red travertine everywhere in my house. All kitchen was made from solid thick wood, which was very risky because of course, the solid wood waves a little bit because of the weather and because of the humidity. I made this classic triangle system. The fridge is here, the stove here, and the kitchen sink there. So this triangle is standard rule and this is very easy to use the kitchen. So you move from the fridge to the stove and to the kitchen sink. And the stove is here because I like the idea so to use kitchen island to cook something with the view. First of all, I like mirrors, but I like mirrors from ceiling until the floor. This is my obsession. But here, the two mirrors in small corridor, I make it for maximize the size of this small corridor because this corridor made just to open, for opening the door. And I want to make it, I want to make something interesting here. So that's why I make the mirrors almost until the height of the three meters door, yeah. The room's quite small. So this is just four meters by four meters. That's why we have to do like that, yeah. So my wardrobe, I don't like to do like that, but here we have to, because I want to maximize space near the bed. So I don't want to put a wardrobe there. So that's why I think it's a good idea to put AC on top and to put wardrobe to the both sides of the bed. So for the flooring for all our juggler, I use like concrete slab and then small marble mosaic. This mosaic on the net, so they put it very like easy, fast, but this mosaic very like unperfect. So that's why I choose this unperfect material for unperfect works, you know. Long, long time, my dream was to make the bathroom absolutely like totally from red travertine. But here, of course, we have wooden walls. So three wooden walls and one from red travertine. The red travertine is very unique because nobody know about that, not too much use it. But I think this is beautiful, a beautiful color match with our furniture. So we decide to use it for the floor, for the wall inside the shower and for all things. In all my projects, if I have stability to make skylight, I will do that for sure. So first, I like the light on the walls from skylight. Second, you get really like really full of the light the bathroom and it's good for the girls to see your makeup. I think it's a good idea and I always like trying to do that in all my project, of course, in my home also. The difference between our bedrooms that my daughter have working table here and I have bathtub inside the room. I like when bathtub in the room because for me, this feeling similar to some expensive hotel in Las Vegas or somewhere. So, and I like bathtub, I like to use it. And also I like that from this bathtub, I can see the garden and the pool. If it's not round, what can works? So that's how I make triangle table and it work really good because it's more small than round table and you can sit quite near each other and still see each other, but this is not round table. So it's very like, it works really good. The lamp was made by me. We made structure inside, put three lamps and then we cut a small piece of fabric. All my house was in fabric in some small ropes. So, and then just put it like one by one to this lamp. It's a very beautiful light in the evening. This is my favorite place of my home because every morning I come here, take incense, stay here, look to this art, you know? So this is like a magical place for me. And here, a lot of pieces, sometimes somebody just gift for me, yeah? Sometimes this is from Hong Kong. This is like antique. So all pieces which I buy, like small details which I like, located here. This is my small garden, but full of small pieces of myself, you know, of my taste. So first of all, I really like the plants which have like blue color, a little bit blue color. That's why here, blue agave have like huge flower. And when this flower come, this die. Like one time for like five, six years. So I'm waiting, I'm waiting this huge flower. It's like two and a half meter long. In all my garden, you can see like small sculptures. This is really antique sculptures from Zimbabwe. So the fireplace made from one piece of granite stone. It was so heavy that we have to rent like a special car and go from our neighbors in that time when we don't have the fence. So this piece was like first piece which we bring to our home.
