Do you want to know how to use play doh for teaching kids how to count and match? LearningMole provides different educational videos and resources that will help you to bring some ideas to the homeschooling journey you are going through with your kid.

Teaching the kid how to count is not hard but it might end up being hard for them according to the way you are using to bring the piece of information to their minds. A parent should always choose the mind games which the kid loves to play with in order to educate them and thus reach the outcome they were looking up to in their homeschooling journey.

In this video, Michelle was playing with James in an attempt to teach him how to count and match. Counting and Matching was never a hard thing to be done by the kids but you should teach them to count in the correct order without forgetting a number in the middle of the way.

The tools which Michelle used in this video to teach James how to count included the play doh, the small character which James used as a stamp, and the different plastic parts which he used to make the buns and to do a different kind of stamp.

The goal of this lesson was to teach James to count while stamping on the play doh. First, Michelle asked James to count to five with making little prints using the small character he has and then she asked him to count to seven but with using the other tool that would give him circular shapes, and eventually she asked him to make her three buns for her bakery shop.

There are different ways to ask the kid to count for you; it could be straight forward and direct like Michelle did and it could be by asking them first what is the total of two specific numbers together and then letting them count them on the play doh, it could be also about playing as if you are in a specific place like Michelle did when she asked for the buns for her bakery shop; there are lots of choices, you just have to get creative while playing with the kids.

Play doh is one option, you could teach them several things and not just counting, they could learn to make patterns and understand what a pattern is (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhME5y2JbH0), they could learn to make different shapes and this way they will be aware of identifying these shapes if they saw them in the real world and they could also learn to write letters and numbers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgsaOTbbjUA).

Lego is another option which we prefer when it comes to educating the kids and teaching them something new, it is one of the mind games which will help in making the kids more creative and more able to solve the mathematical problems and any other problems that they might face in any of the other fields they go through.

There are several links related to the educational videos about teaching kids with using Lego, here are some for you to check (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjrrtRV_opk) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdlIHYRnjAg) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZT8ImgjSA-g) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3q7imQuRBQ)

There are some tips to be followed when it comes to homeschooling which parents should follow. First of all, parents should be part of the game, they should give the kids the chance to ask questions and wait for the answers and in this way parents should trick the kids to know whether they know the answers or are just playing the game of being the ones in charge of asking. The second important thing is starting a conversation with the kids in order to help them think, ask them about the other ways which they might know about to solve specific mathematical problems, this will give them the chance to know how to answer questions, how to build conversations and also how to explain one thing or idea they have in mind.

We have lots of educational videos that would serve you to teach and homeschool your kids when it comes to English, math, crafts and even in cooking (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYFZObt2o6w) which would serve and support you through the journey.
