The story behind this song:
A world is slowly losing its divine light.

Inside an immense palace, there is a sacred chapel.

Within that chapel stands a giant stone statue of a knight, kneeling toward an empty throne.

But few people know that this knight was once an ancient god of this land. He had used all of his strength to protect the realm from the invading darkness.

Now, exhausted beyond measure, he has turned into stone.

And yet, he still kneels toward the throne.

Because that throne belongs to the king — the one who left long ago to search for the “Eternal Flame,” the only power that can save the world.

The king has been gone for far too long. Endless ages have passed. His people have waited in sorrow and longing. The ancient gods have grown weaker and weaker.

Darkness now seems to flood everything, as if it wants to swallow the last light of the kingdom.

Although the king is far away, he senses it.

So he separates a fragment of his soul. In an instant, that soul crosses time and space, appearing inside the sacred chapel in the form of a child — a child filled with divine power, radiating holy light.

The child flies close to the knight.

In that moment, tears fall from the child’s eyes.

One tear lands upon the stone knight.

That tear contains infinite mercy. The king blames himself for not returning sooner.

Then a powerful energy surges forth.

From that single tear, light begins to spread. The stone statue slowly comes back to life. The cold stone fades away, and the knight returns to his former form — noble, radiant, and filled with his ancient glory.

The knight then leads the king out of the chapel.

Together, they look down upon the vast world below.

The knight says:

“My king, please continue your journey. Your people can still hold on. We will wait for your return.”

Hearing this, the king finally feels a little relieved.

In the next instant, the soul fragment crosses time and space once more, returning to that distant land.

And there, far away, the king continues his search for the Eternal Flame.
=============
[Verse 1]
In halls where fading candles burn
Where sacred arches rise
There kneels a knight of ancient stone
Beneath the silent skies
Before an empty throne he bows
Still faithful, still alone
His hands are cold, his armor cracked
His heart has turned to stone

[Verse 2]
He was a god of elder days
A shield of holy flame
He held the dark beyond the gates
And never asked for fame
He spent his strength to guard the land
He fought till light was gone
And even when his body froze
His soul kept kneeling on

[Pre-Chorus]
For long ago the king had gone
Beyond the stars and storm
To seek the flame that never dies
And bring the kingdom dawn

[Chorus]
Hold on, hold on, fading light
The king still walks beyond the night
Though years may fall like endless rain
His heart will find the way again
Hold on, hold on, through dark and cold
The sacred vow is not grown old
Before the throne, beneath the sky
The faithful never truly die

[Verse 3]
The people watched the heavens dim
The ancient gods grew weak
The dark rose high like hungry seas
Around the mountain peaks
Yet far away beyond all time
The king still felt their pain
He closed his eyes and split his soul
To cross the void again

[Verse 4]
A child of light appeared at once
Within the chapel air
With shining eyes and holy breath
And sorrow burning there
He flew before the kneeling knight
So small, so bright, so still
Then one warm tear fell from his face
With mercy deep as will

[Pre-Chorus]
I should have come to you before
I left you here too long
The tear became a river bright
The chapel filled with song

[Chorus]
Rise now, rise now, fading light
The king still calls across the night
Though years may fall like endless rain
His love has found the way again
Rise now, rise now, through dark and cold
The sacred vow is not grown old
Before the throne, beneath the sky
The faithful never truly die

[Bridge]
The stone began to breathe again
The cracks were filled with gold
The armor shone, the blade awoke
The ancient fire rolled
The knight returned in holy light
With glory in his eyes
He bowed before the childlike king
As dawn filled all the skies

[Verse 5]
Together they went past the fields
And looked across the land
The dark still pressed on every side
Like night with endless hands
The knight then spoke with steady heart
My king, go on your way
Your people still can hold the line
We wait for your return one day

[Final Chorus]
Go on, go on, sacred light
And find the flame beyond the night
Though worlds may shake and stars may fall
Your kingdom still awaits your call
Go on, go on, through dark and cold
The loyal hearts will guard the old
Until you bring the dawn we yearn
We will endure till you return

[Outro]
The child of light dissolved in flame
Through time and space once more
And far away the king walked on
To seek the flame of yore
