G'day Legends, I hope you're doing well, Today we talk about the war in Ukraine. From the angle of tactics, strategy and politics, coming together as how this is the holistic art of war.

Telegram: https://t.me/Willy_OAM_REAL I served in the Australian Infantry from 2014 to 2021, with specialist qualifications in Heavy Weapons and Anti-Armour, as well as Combat First Aid. I deployed to Afghanistan as a crew commander of an Armoured Mobility Vehicle. Upon my return, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with an incurable and inoperable brain tumour that is slowly killing me. I was also awarded the Queen’s Order of Australia Medal (OAM), hence the post-nominals after my name. After being medically separated from the Army, I flew to Ukraine in 2022 for six and a half months. I now make content full-time. I really appreciate you being here. Thank you.
G'day Legends, I hope you are having a fantastic day and so far you are having a brilliant weekend.
It is cold wet and rainy in Adelaide so a quiet day but it's given me the time to put together
a video about Ukraine. I've been meaning to do this for a couple of days and of course as always
we have a lot to go over everything from tactics to politics and all between. Of course we're
talking about the mid to long-range strike campaign specifically we'll talk about Ukraine's
mid to long-range strike campaign down in the south. We've seen some bridges hit, some bridges
cut that can connect, sorry, Kherson to Crimea. We'll talk about how much impact that's going to
have. That's vehicles in, vehicles out, there's pontoon bridges but what may it allow Ukraine to
will give some nuance and some realism to that situation because once again we've seen a new
system or capability enter the battlefield and like the several before this, well a lot more
than that, that this is going to be the capability that changes everything. Then we need to talk
about the front line and an area which is being basically ignored, Kostantinivka. As we've said
for months all roads lead to Kostantinivka and what we're seeing is that a lot of this is coming
under Russian control and the situation has grown critical for the Ukrainian forces in that region
but will Russia be able to exploit beyond and even if they can't what capability can they then
further deliver to Kramatorsk Slovyansk. We'll talk about the front line and how today we're
hearing that up to 50 percent of assault forces are going to be attempted to be recruited by
foreigners. That's highly important we'll speak about that and as well where we're going to start
is with the once conspiracy theory that people were banned off websites like this and from
Twitter posting about. Well it's been a big year if you're a conspiracy theorist. Alex Jones well
he must be a happy man but Tulsi Gabbard she has said this that I'm releasing never before seen
US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in 30 countries including Ukraine. Now what I
would ask here is why specifically is this administration pointing out Ukraine? This
dangerous gain of function research around the world and this is in his executive order Trump's
executive order to end that research. So let's have a look inside of this what can we get out
of this? Well not that much but the Institute of Experimental Clinical Veterinary Medicine
in Kharkiv probably has at least some dangerous pathogens and almost certainly remains vulnerable
to long-standing Russian information operations. The institute which was founded in 1920s may have
had Soviet biological warfare ties. What we do know is the Soviet Union was incredibly focused
on biological chemical warfare and there were defectors who then spoke about those operations
and how advanced it was compared to others. The department defense biological threat reduction
program that this is by the Ukraine owns and operated laboratories and that's where the
assistance is coming from. So what many are saying is what this was actually funding is to clean up
remaining elements here from the Soviet Union but that's 30 years past. As recently as 2019
at least some biosafety and biosecurity deficiencies most notably in rooms handling
contagious bacteria that there's been talks of this so it's difficult to know. There's
Ukrainian laboratories because reporting suggests laboratories were ordered to destroy
holdings after Russia's invasion and I bet there was a hell of a lot of getting rid of
in these laboratories and as well as like we saw even scuttling navy ships as that invasion came
but again what we have heard is laboratories, biolabs, biolabs, conspiracy, Kremlin talk point
etc and now we're seeing the administration release this 40 biolabs built and supported
US training Ukrainian scientists to work in biocontainment dangerous pathogen and you can see
anthrax tuberculosis swine fever again highly contagious highly deadly some of these a lot of
pointed at this map and going well actually you show one that is in Crimea of course that Russia
has occupied this region for now over a decade and of course where Kiev actually sits on the map
you're talking way more up here same as Nepopetrovsk but either way it's very interesting to see this
coming out of the administration at this point in time this really grabbed my eye and I think
I should have grabbed a lot more than it did from Ukranska Pravda the ministry of defense
sets a goal for up to 50 percent of storm troop and infantry positions in the Ukrainian army to
be held by foreigners from the defense minister Mikhail Fedorov his direct speech we are opening
the market for recruiting foreigners to strengthen combat units and save the lives of Ukrainian
military personnel our goal is to fill up to 30 to 50 percent of storm trooper and infantry positions
with foreigners okay this says a lot but we're opening up we want to recruit foreigners in of
course a lot of these are coming from South America and promises of passports following
but also we have seen mistreatment basically everyone know no one ever got paid all of this
that is happening but you can read the lines here we're opening this up to save the lives of
Ukrainian military personnel and these are not seen as Ukrainian military personnel they're seen
as foreigners in the assault of course the most brutal areas areas of which there has been a lot
of whistleblowing about the treatment of forces and tactics he also stated that those who have
been the defense forces the longest and spent the most time on combat duty will begin to gradually
discharge from service by the end of the year so by the end of the year those that have served the
longest will be discharged I don't know if Ukraine has the manpower capacity yet it looked better
than it did buffered a lot by drones to really be pushing people off how many foreigners will go
well I really don't know it's become far and far less attractive to go and be a foreign fighter
but this is going to the storm troopers to infantry areas where Ukraine's manpower is the
shortest it's been buffered by a massive focus on drones but also who wears the brunt of the war
and in turn has the highest rate of casualties multiple times now we have seen officials media
individuals many blow the whistle on how these units are being used the forced conscription
into these use into these units the mistreatment in them even down to torture so why are these
being used well behind the brutality they are delivering results they are delivering what
Zelensky wants to show is the results on the battlefield what we have questioned isn't the
results it is at what cost to future operations and directly looking to fill these with foreigners
is a negative indicator also what I'm reading into this is the decision stems a lot from Ukraine's
demographic catastrophe millions upon millions have left even if the war ends today many won't
come back up to 70 from some studies out of Kyiv won't come back a lot of young men have been
killed or wounded or bear the scars of wars following and they're looking as you can see
save the lives of Ukrainian military personnel try and save further lives to bolster to give
more work against that impending demographic collapse Russia is in a very similar position
of which with a much larger population the reason why they have been a little bit more sheltered
is they haven't had the mass emigration of refugees leaving let's talk about the assault
forces Ukraine has been running these operations these offenses with assault there's a syriski
they get the priority of conscripts of manpower to deliver results we've seen multiple times you
can look this up through all Ukrainian sources that they are getting far more supplies resources
capability than other units and that they are much larger than other brigades many of which have been
really thinned out to go into the assault they take vastly more bosses than any other unit due
to how aggressive they are so the assault forces they are extremely brutal segment of Ukraine's
that are favored by syriski because they get results at any cost results that Zelensky wants
from syriski they are a core part of the reason for the manpower shortages across the military
why Ukraine has been ramping up their conscription so violently so wanting to fill a large amount of
that with foreigners to save lives when you have then shortages of manpower wanting further results
on the battlefield and demographic problems I think that tells us a lot about the attrition
we are seeing on the battlefield that people will completely ignore what we know is some of these
units were thinned out from Konstantinivka an area which is being massively ignored we're going to go
over about 36 hours of maps to show you so here is the map of Ukraine Kiev in the center the red
areas occupants run to purple since 2014 we're not going to nitpick on this map today there's just a
small bit of red zone change but we're coming down into here into Konstantinivka where we can see
where it's moving the direction of Druzhkivka Kramatorsk Slovyansk of course the most important
areas left in the Donbass you can see the gray zone growing around here the maps are becoming
almost impossible to get a reasonable reading Suriak had a fantastic write-up about this
yesterday and why he's moving to doing five days his five-day window and map rather than daily
just due to how infiltrations and movements are working so let's look at AMK and play for it so
what we are seeing is a few days ago due to threat encirclement and a complete media
silence Ukrainian forces initiated a full withdrawal from the southwestern and western
parts of Konstantinivka as indicated by the blue arrows there's been Ukrainian special forces
deployed in the area of this withdrawal to hold key withdrawal roads and repel Russian
infiltrations I mean a number of drone footage striking logistics on these routes as well since
then Russian forces have occupied most of the southwestern and western suburbs which is why
we saw the view of dozen Russian flags going up currently can confirm Russian control of more
than 40 percent in my opinion it's likely that Russian now controls more than 50 percent so this
was about 24 hours ago from Mr. AMK now why are we not seeing this anywhere I saw people
looking and hey none of these people that track the war have even mentioned Konstantinivka once
well we've seen a large ignoring of the maps but they're just focusing purely on the logistic
strikes down in the south that gives the content while ignoring this when what we know is war is
holistic it's all of these tactics to strategic strikes operations politics and something like
this cannot be ignored because of the flow-on impact that this may have before we go back to
maps let's look at this lost armor I just grabbed this because of his quick write-up but it was this
video of a fiber optic a Russian fiber optic FPV flying around and hitting a four-wheel drive in
Kramatorsk with the fall of Konstantinivka the scale of FPV drone use against Ukraine Armed Forces
in targeting Kramatorsk will sharply increase of which I agree with once Kramatorsk once
Konstantinivka falls the ability to have a built-up area with higher buildings repeaters
etc to have things like fiber optics go into areas Drutkivka Kramatorsk Slovyansk will
dramatically increase that this is a far better location than from the last area really built up
of Bakhmut with less of the rolling hills between Bakhmut and Kramatorsk then Kramatorsk
so I agree with his assessment we will see that sharp increase let's look at the next update from
AMK about the movement out of Ukrainian special forces deployed into this green square to secure
these streets for withdrawals unclear if they were there or they've been deployed in movement into
this region to allow withdrawal likely I think moving in we've seen this again and again where
to allow a withdrawal but also at times work as well allegedly a blocking force
this will allow to begin accumulating infiltrations for the Russians in the
northwestern suburbs which still remain under Ukrainian control so moving into these northern
suburbs elsewhere Russia has significantly stepped up assault operations attempting to cut
off Ukrainian garrison trying to get a surrounding in here and simultaneously going head to head
in the train station area in Konstantinovsk you can see where the rail heads down into here so
this is an area we need to be keeping an eye on there could be an operational encirclement here
there has likely been very small ones but not a large one so again when we talk about strikes on
logistics vertical envelopment this is what we are seeing here and it is highly ignored so this is
play for his map and what you can see is where he is showing gray zone and the Russian infiltration
movement is similar to where amk is showing his controlled zone so we get an idea when we balance
these two that this is somewhere of the movement is close between this the situation remains very
difficult Russian force attacked along the mark routes uh was report so the furthest Russian
soldier was oscova before being eliminated so let's look this is oscova down here says he
was eliminated at this point but this is what we've been speaking about is will there be an
exploitation beyond Konstantinovsk this is always the concern when an area falls
remember the licking of a silkier other area once it falls you can have a uh a collapse back until
it reaches a hard line do i believe that will happen here no but i think between shaz if you
are constantly will close up therefore increasing saturation of elements even down to fabs as the
front line moves su-34 will come forward further into areas slovyansk kramatorsk final map this
came out at 12 11 my time so it is just over an hour old and you can see by amk's map the
southern region of constant you're coming under control and that there has been breaches and
russians pushing in the direction of oscova following localized collapse of ukrainian
defenses in may that led to the current deteriorating situation ukrainian commander
in chief sersky dismissed commanders of the 28th mech and 156th mech brigade according to thorkill
commander of 28th command of the entire constant defense grouping reportedly its breach in city
occurred due to poorly organized reconnaissance and drone operators and a lack of fpv drones
allocated to the 156th additionally 156th had too many poorly trained soldiers that should have been
assigned to older brigades furthermore the status of various positions and strong points inner and
constant nivska as well as neighboring directions is being checked as it is suspected that yet
another case of commanders lying to higher ups that ukraine holding certain areas taking place
this could explain why deep state's map is so behind in this sector and this is something that
we have seen is due to how the command structure works even down to that like gamification of
gaining more material that there is sometimes false information pushed up about the actual standing
which has real battlefield effect and that maps can be in the wrong spot even for then supporting
units on flanks on the ground so we'll keep an eye on this but constantive scout is in a really
really bad way we'll continue watching this but also need to talk further uh later in a video
about areas like liman and other sectors that are looking to be deteriorating okay you can't just
focus on one thing because it makes you happy or appeals to your audience so that's the real
frontline update now we need to zoom out a lot and talk about from basically rostov mariupol
down into crimea kirchbridge her son of course this whole southern region about the increased
strikes that we are seeing down here i've just got a little video to show you here this is some
ukrainian some recent ukrainian long-range strikes against some russian military vehicles and supply
vehicles in these areas again we're seeing new footage of this come out day after day multiple
compilations can be difficult with compilations of where it is it can set also a narrative within
compilations we see this happen all the time but new videos coming out heaps of strikes happening
down here but again this isn't mutually exclusive it's being discussed and reported as if the only
mid to long range logistics strikes are ukrainian russia also has a lot of these strikes do i
believe to the degree ukraine does no is it 50 less no i think it's more like 10 to 15 just not
as good as exploiting all that information these are some footage coming out today from russian
long-range strikes against ukrainian logistics as well so you can see against trucks flatbeds
etc even train lines of course we're seeing more and more of this this is against some
electrical facility by the look of those generators so let's talk about this whole
situation now clement mullen he's really following this very closely last night this was from
yesterday multiple ukrainian hits on bridges leading to crimea further isolating the peninsula
from the land bridge to russia at the same time strike campaign continues on multiple key roads
with over 375 vehicles and trucks hit since early may so since early may say just over a month ago
he's saying 375 vehicles have been hit now let's look onto his map here and he's mapping
fantastically where all of these hits are and the depth of them the roads of which are getting
struck also looking at these crimean bridges that have been hit now these are bypassable there are
pontoon bridges that does slow things down but it is not completely cut i'm seeing a lot of people
saying that her son's cut off chromea is cut off that is untrue there's a friction point there's a
resistance point it is not cut okay we need to be specific with some of that language although
titles and thumbnails you'll have to forgive all of us youtubers of course this isn't just
supply into chromea it's supply out of chromea into her son supporting the elements up here
but again you need to understand that this large multi uh multi-lane bridge huge bridge the kurt
straight bridge is still in operation now it is limited operation down to more vehicles instead
of trucks and fuel due to the uh truck bomb that went off on that bridge but it is still in
operation you can still push a lot over that bridge come on continues russia is putting
bridges on both roads leading to chromea of course these east and west connection points
here both bridges are damaged so there's been holes put in them from the munitions
and currently out of use a pontoon bridge makes movements slower which can allow ukraine to strike
military convoys well it makes it easier to destroy these so of course it slows it down
can group it up maybe easier than to strike these two choke points between crimea and southern
ukraine are important to further complicate any logistical movement we'll probably soon be able
that ukraine gained fire control on key roads heading to chromea full fire control is difficult
as that is you can hit anything at any time moving through i think we're still a while off having full
fire control given the amount of vehicles that move through here but of course that is increasing
the amount of strikes into here and those friction points are of course making this more difficult
for the russians with these bridges being closed now having to supply most of the equipment through
southern ukraine rather than from russia into chromea and then north up okay but let's be really
realistic about this you can see this is the pontoon where these trucks are crossing you can
see i've somewhat cropped it out but you can see where there are a backup of vehicles and some of
the holes in the bridges here probably are waiting for an engineer to come and have a look
to see see what can be done remember taking down a bridge is a pretty difficult task it's no
secret at all that the evolution of the mid-range to long-range drones going from the original
drones we saw 10 15ks up to 50 then to 100 and beyond it has revolutionized and it's really
changed the nature of this war and ever-changing battlefields around the world there seems though
to be the narrative that only ukraine has mid-strike capacity as i've said i assess that
ukraine has the superiority in the mid-range strike but russia has operated this capability
for a long time and is very competent in this capability as well i believe it's much closer to
ukrainian capability than what we are seeing reported making out as if it's only ukraine
that has any ability to strike long-range mid-range drones at logistics vehicles what
we've seen is we've also seen russia increasing their mid-range logistics strikes in the past
weeks also not to the degree that ukraine has but definitely increasing it these strikes are
getting in and out of crimea in the north but what must be remembered it must be remembered that
the kirch bridge is still open there is a ferry still operating to get into
crimea there's still a lot of supply moving it's very obvious as well that ukraine is trying to
cut supply into these areas so while these are still open and things can still move there will
be a huge amount a huge effort to push stores to fill or that areas have been filled and caches
with these resources so far what we are yet to see is if ukraine can take these strikes and turn it
into an exploitation for movement on the front line or political victories to actually exploit
these strikes on logistics that the friction point the choking point that their drones have
created all these strikes but then turning it and exploiting beyond now people are talking a lot
about movement across the nepa river so of course logistics being hit down in this area my cursor
and then moving across into russian occupied herson across the nepa river now what i'll say
about that is any more than a raid across here is unrealistic even if a russian skeleton force
remained in that area with drones with air power the actual ability to move heavy equipment across
the nepa at this point in time that is unrealistic at this point in time same the other way we've
spoken at length about movements across the nepa river it's very difficult speaking on that
exploitation war is holistic it's tactical victories leading to operational increases
leading to strategic outcomes leading to political diplomatic outcomes it's a holistic nature what
we know zelensky budnov they are pushing very hard to end the war by winter and what these
strikes have done and assault forces is it has improved the ukrainian position if they were to
into some level of negotiation at this point in time our question is how much has it degraded
those logistics and what cost has those assault forces actually worn what must be remembered in
all this though is the amount of capable vehicles to move logistics in a state the size of russia
how many they operate how many they could import from somewhere like china it is huge it's not a
few hundred in a month being taken out that's going to just stop this what is the important
factor is the cargo on these more so than just losing the truck it's far more important to try
and choke the cargo going to the line than just taking out the vehicles that these vehicles of
these logistics taken out there's dozens and dozens and dozens of these produced a day or
you're not going to have the amount of to take out the amount of flatbed trucks that russia could
buy import or has in storage it's trying to choke cargo to the front and if you can then exploit
that where i see these strikes have had really the most success and this is a holistic part too
is in the informational space what it has done is it's further brought ukraine to the forefront of
media newspapers youtube all these it's all collapsing for russia crimea walk through etc
all of that and that's pushed it onto the public pushed it into then the eyes of the leaders who
support ukraine therefore support is increasing morale has increased information space increased
therefore funding may increase also so that's where i see this is so important that's why
the exploitation of the propaganda and the videos pushing out of this that's where ukraine's
exploiting that very well will we see a tactical exploitation we're waiting to see may take months
until we see this from an anonymous source russia is also striking ukrainian trucks and logistics
daily but they don't have the coordinated propaganda push ukraine is having right now
both sides having issues with mid-range drone strikes but most media is only focusing on one
of them again from anonymous source russia claimed the same thing when they began striking
highways leading to sloviansk kramatorsk in late 24 early 25 it made supply more difficult but never
led to a collapse and vehicles still got through there are hundreds if not low thousands of trucks
and vans traveling these highways each day hitting and not necessarily destroying around 350 a month
in over a month is certainly damage but it's not going to cripple the region many of them
may be empty as they're going somewhere to pick up supply and even those that are carrying items
some may just be transporting generic goods or furniture how many have full of military equipment
how many have dropped it off and on the way back all of this so 350 which is the best number that
i've seen it may be higher than that but that's where most people are boarding around how many
is this actually to likely the hundreds or thousands that cross daily and what are they
actually carrying so this is all the nuance we need to add to this and again what we'll see
is if we see battlefield impact of this further russian businesses may just end up switching to
bigger cars or four-wheel drives to suppliers which will cost them extra due to lower capacity
but it will get through so further just dispersing this from flatbeds to things like this then
ukraine would have to target all vehicles and run the incredibly high risk of mass civilian casualties
as they hit any vehicle it would be a terrible look killing tons of ukrainian civilians to try
and starve the russians out and what people love to forget in this war is that these are occupied
regions civilians remaining in the majority of this region are ukrainians and that's what we see
when that that school was hit when that bus was hit the other day and hits down here you go hey
who are you actually trying to support here because of the civilians here wearing this
if you're going to call it occupied territory and there's civilians there
crimea can be a bit different but in these regions of areas that have been
hit are you really in the favor of ukrainians so you may see a switch from these trucks
then obvious military cargo to more high dispersion amongst vehicles and it's going
to be very hard of which one you hit but also increase the amount of drones you're going to
have to use and drones at this range are not as numerous as your shorter range fpv
so do i think that this is really evolving and changing the war mid-range strike yes i do is it
okay people are saying it's the new high mars oh okay let's look at the impact high mars has now
compared to what it did okay it tapers off we still need to be realistic about this you're
not just going to have one system that then changes everything it's definitely a huge
impact for the russians operating down in this region will it be turn up shop walk out and gone
will have been promised that before again and again i'm still waiting to see if the friction
points down here can be exploited into crossings or pushings into zaporizhia or blast or beyond
but we will wait and see and no one has a crystal ball but i do think that this
mid-range strike is what many people have sunk their teeth into their fingers into is now this
is the war winner beyond the fuel shortage beyond this shortage that shortage that shortage that
we've seen again and again again this is it and what i say is there's no single system or tactic
that is decisive in war it needs to be a holistic of everything coordinating and operating together
and will we see exploitation of that again it's a big problem that i bet russia is desperate to
legends you look after yourself and i'll speak to you tomorrow thank you
