Here begins the tale of Styrbjǫrn the Strong, son of the royal line of Sweden, a man of great wrath and unyielding will.

In the days when the kings of the North ruled by the sword, there was born a boy named Bjǫrn. From the cradle, he was fierce and wild. He took no joy in peace nor patience, but he did in violence.

As he grew, so too did his fury, and men named him Styrbjǫrn—for he was not merely Bjǫrn, but a bear driven by force, wild and ungoverned. The name Styr- was no gift, but a mark of doom, for he would not bend to any law nor even his own kin.

Then was he cast out from the land of his birth, banished by the king and his council. But Styrbjǫrn bore no sorrow—he took to the longships and went Viking.

Far did he sail, and bold were his deeds, but none more mighty than this: he came upon the stronghold of the Jomsvikings, the fiercest of warrior-bands, whose name was feared in every hall from Iceland to the land of the Rus.

But Styrbjǫrn stood before them not as a supplicant, but as a conqueror. He struck them as iron strikes shield, and when the clash was done, they bowed not in scorn, but in fealty. Thus did he take the Jomsvikings at the height of their fame, and bound them to his will. According to some Sagas, Styrbjǫrn also captured The Danish King Harald Bluetooth, and had him under his subjugation further reflecting his military might.
His name would echo across the North, all fearing the Swedish Prince.
