PULLED FROM A DUMPSTER: Danish Teak Cabinet Restoration

T
Trash To Treasure

This Danish teak veneered cabinet was literally pulled out of a dumpster—covered in mold, beat-up veneer, missing hardware, and odd repairs. A lot of people say these aren’t worth saving, but I wanted to prove otherwise.

In this video, I take you through my favourite mid-century restoration process for teak veneer: cleaning off decades of grime, sanding delicate veneer, repairing damaged teak edge banding, and even fabricating new plastic sliding door guides by hand (no 3D printer here!). I finish everything off with a rich Odie’s oil treatment that brings out that signature warm teak glow.

If you’re into budget-friendly furniture flips, MCM furniture rehab, or want to learn how to fix those common drawer and door issues on Danish-style cabinets, this one’s for you.
