Buttered Garlic Bread! No kneading, no touching.
This easy garlic bread recipe is made without kneading and without touching the dough. Just mix the ingredients, let the dough rest in the refrigerator, spread it with a spatula, and bake. The result is a flat, soft, and lightly crispy garlic butter bread.
This recipe uses all-purpose flour for a softer texture. The dough is not meant to rise like a tall loaf of bread. It should stay flatter, soft inside, and slightly crispy outside. The garlic, butter, and parsley give the bread a simple but very delicious flavor.
Ingredients:
400 g / 14.1 oz / 0.88 lb / about 3 ā
US cups all-purpose flour
320 ml / 10.8 fl oz / 1 ā
US cup water, 18ā20°C / 64ā68°F
5 g / 1 ½ teaspoons instant dry yeast
5 g / 1 teaspoon salt
2 cloves garlic / about 1 teaspoon finely crushed garlic
1/3 bunch fresh parsley
30 g / 1.06 oz / 2 tablespoons soft butter
For topping:
Butter
Parmesan or Gran Moravia cheese
Preparation time: about 10 minutes
Active working time: about 15 minutes
Refrigerator resting time: 4ā5 hours
Shaping time: about 5 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes
Total time, excluding refrigerator resting: about 40 minutes
Bake in a preheated oven on the second rack from the bottom at 180°C / 356°F, top and bottom heat, for about 20 minutes. Place a bowl of boiling water at the bottom of the oven to create steam.
US cup measurement is based on 240 ml.
