Winnie the Pooh out of bounce.
Woohoo! shouted Tigger.
Bouncing made him happy from the top of his head to the bottom of his springy tail.
Why don't you join me? Tigger asked his friend.
The more the bouncier, I always say.
There was just one problem. Tigger's friends didn't know how to bounce.
I'll fix that in a jiff-a-rooty, Tigger told them.
Teaching is what Tiggers do best.
Tigger began by giving each of his friends something to put a spring in their step.
Are you sure this is a good idea? asked Eeyore.
I feel kind of wobbly.
Absotively, Tigger declared.
Trust me, bouncing will put you in the best mood ever.
Suddenly, Eeyore toppled over.
You're right, he said. Things are looking up.
Or at least, I am.
Tigger got Eeyore back on his feet and began the lesson.
First, we're going to bounce in place, he said.
All you've got to do is jump as high as you can.
Your springy stuff will do the rest.
Piglet jumped, but he didn't bounce.
He flew!
Er, Tigger, said Pooh.
What should one do if...
No interrupting, Tigger exclaimed.
I'm just getting warmed up. Whoosh!
Next, Tigger demonstrated how to bounce forward.
You've got to lean into it, like so, he said.
Pooh leaned like Tigger, but he didn't bounce.
He rolled and rolled and rolled.
Shouldn't we do something, Eeyore asked.
We are doing something, replied Tigger.
It's called bouncing, in case you haven't noticed.
Now, Tigger was ready to teach his fanciest move of all.
Watch closely, he said. It's a tricky one.
Tigger launched off the ground, did a somersault and bounced backward.
Boing! Boing! Boing!
Your turn, called Tigger.
Eeyore made it as far as the somersault part, but he didn't bounce.
He crashed!
Finally, Tigger turned around to face his friends.
But there was nobody there.
Hmm, he said.
Is class over already?
I must have gotten carried away.
He wasn't the only one.
