$13 Wash Day Routine! Curls On A Budget | BiancaReneeToday

Hey crow friends, I'm Bianca Renee and you're watching Bianca Renee Today. And today I'm going to try to create the most affordable wash day routine possible. If you watched my video last week, that wash day cost one thousand dollars! Crazy! I can admit the only reason I would do that is because those products were sent to me, but I personally cannot encourage you to spend one thousand dollars on a whole wash day routine. So today we're gonna flip it and try to make it as affordable as possible. That means I'm also going to be using as little amount of products as possible, meaning shampoo, conditioner, one styler, and my blow dryer diffuser. So without further ado, let's get started. Starting off in the shower, we'll be using some products that everyone knows is very affordable. This is the Can'too Shea Butter Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo for natural curls, coils, and waves. It actually smells really good. It smells really fruity and tropical and I personally love that. This is a big bottle of 13.5 fluid ounces. This is their new packaging. It says new and improved, up to three times more moisture. It's supposed to gently remove even heavy buildup, which is really gonna be put to the test since I used silicone last week. It's pretty easy to impress me for shampoo. I want you to be able to suds up, give me a nice clean. This also has no alcohol, no mineral oils, no sulfates, no silicones, no paraffin, no parabens, no phyllates. So this shampoo you're getting 13.5 fluid ounces and it's $6.49 at Sally Beauty. Overall, I think it did a great job cleaning my hair, especially after using silicone last week. But now let's rinse it out and grab the matching Can'too Shea Butter Sulfate-Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner. This is supposed to help prevent hair breakage, made with fair trade shea butter, has vitamin b complex, and it's supposed to condition your hair. Also supposed to be new and improved, up to 11 times more moisture. So this is part of the whole rebrand of Can'too and I think it's working great. Overall, I think my slip was decent. It's not the most amazing, but it got the job done. When it comes to detangling, a brush that is cheaper than the sacred brush is the Unbrush. And this brush is $18. But you know what's even more affordable than an $18 brush? Your own hands. So for the sake of the video, let's just finger detangle for $0. I like to use this little pinching technique where I comb down my hair and as soon as I get to a knot, I just make this little finger motion to gently break apart any tangles. Using your fingers is the most gentle way to detangle your hair. It just can take a little longer. So let's lock in our own hands for $0. Now when I checked the price of the conditioner on the Sally Beauty website, it was actually on sale. Buy one, get one 50% off, which these products often are. So that made this conditioner on sale from $5.99 to just $2.99. A $3 conditioner? Does it get any better than that? So, so far I've washed my hair for under $10. Fresh out the shower, it is now time to style. Now this part's gonna be really easy for me because I've always been a one-and-done styler type of girl. Y'all know that I've been here, I love just using a gel and that's it. So that's what we're gonna do today to make this routine as simple and affordable as possible. So I'm gonna be using Doji Wetline Extreme Gel. Now there is a normal size available at Sally Beauty for only $3.69. That's for like 17 ounces. I just happen to have the Mondo Jumbo 35 ounce jug that I've barely made a dent in, so I just didn't want to go buy the smaller one for the videos. Just pretend that this is in the smaller container. All right, let's crack it open. It smells like melon. We're gonna take a little dollop of this. This is some very thick gel. I would be able to use this for slick backs and for wash and go. This is a lot of people's favorites, even to this day. Smoothing it on. Probably could add a little bit more water to my hair to dry it. And another little dollop for the other side. Smoothing it down. And I do want to say that this is my first wash since using the expensive products. And the expensive products did have sulfates and silicones, which is kind of crazy. So because of that, I thought I'd have to use a shampoo that also has sulfate to be able to get rid of the silicone. But because it was amodimethicone, it was water soluble, so it was easier to rinse out. And even though the CanTube products were pretty affordable, it still did a great job at cleansing my scalp. Everything looks clean. Got rid of any buildup. I'm good. So yes, using silicone isn't the end of the world. But because I have low porosity hair, it's just not something that's going to personally benefit my hair type. So if I can avoid it, I still like to and prefer to. And everything I'm using today is sulfate and silicone free at a fraction of the cost. All right, so look at the curls. Like, look at this. The shine. The definition. Look at the shine. We are off to a good start. So the most affordable way to dry your hair is to air dry. It does take a little bit of time, and time is money. But it is an option. So if we wanted to end our wash day routine here, we're ending at $13.17. That's a much better price. But to be honest, I always diffuse my hair. I just don't get the volume that I like when I just air dry, and I'm very impatient. So let me think about what is the most affordable blow dryer I have. Okay, I found one. A little dusty. I forgot I had this. This is going back to like OG YouTube days. This is the Revlon Ionic Ceramic, what are you called? Ion infrared heat ceramic hair blow dryer and diffuser. Look at the clear diffuser. Innovative. I don't even know if they still made this, but I just checked online and it is available at Walmart for $32. $32.97 to be exact. And let's see if it can get the same job done as my $500 diffuser. So the settings are warm or hot, and then there's high and low. So let's do warm and high. All right, first of all, this is a very short cord. So it is shorter. Let's see the final look. Yeah. Yeah. Some of these curls are showing off. Look at this one. I didn't even finger coil anything. Y'all just doing this unprovoked on a Tuesday? Looking shiny, looking to find. My hair's not getting too big. I'm not going to be using a pick or a hairspray to add to the budget, but let me do a little shake-a-do and see how much bigger I can make it. Hmm. Better. Yeah, my hair looks really good. So with the blow dryer and diffuser, we're a little under $50, but even if you just air dried, you could have capped it at $13. The moral of the story is you do not need to spend a lot of money to have beautiful curls. Yes, there are products that will give you better results in the long run. I'd much rather you learn to love your natural curls versus get discouraged and just think that it's too expensive and then you don't even try to love your curls. I personally enjoy splurging more on styling products. Styling is the last thing you see that gives you that result that's going to really make or break your wash day. If I were to splurge on a wash product, I'd probably splurge on a really good deep conditioner that sits in your hair for like 20 minutes versus something that you're just putting in your hair and immediately rinsing out. You're literally rinsing those dollars down the drain. For this routine that cost me under $50, half the budget going to the diffuser, the curls look pretty darn amazing. But which one actually looks better? The $1,000 wash day or the $46 wash day? Let me know in the comments. I can tell you right now, I think I'm liking these results even more. But that's just to say that you can get beautiful results for an affordable price for like your one day, for your wash day, for your week. But longevity wise, there's probably more benefits, better ingredients in the more pricier products. Not all of them. Some of them still contain sulfate and silicone being $70. There are ingredients that are going to help long term for hair growth, scalp health, and the overall health of your hair. Now these products, there's nothing really like bad in them per se. I don't know if there's any like benefits from using this gel. I mean it says it's made with aloe vera, it's alcohol free, fresh smell, no residue. There's not really any thing or any claims claiming to even benefit the health of your hair in any way. But it does make it look shiny, have nice hold, and probably last you all week. So there you have it, a $50 wash day routine. Most of these products are available at Tally Beauty. My diffuser is available at Walmart.
