Taro is one of the most divisive foods in the country of Taiwan. Its mere existence creates fierce controversies about whether it should be served in hot pot restaurants, only as desserts, or even shouldn't be consumed at all.

But to foreigners like me, taro is something we're not really familiar with as it's not grown in western countries. Most of us don't know how it looks like or haven't even heard of it

So today I'm going to introduce different forms of taro to my foreigner friends and see whether they believe the campaign of hatred towards taro is justified or if they are on the side of the fence that actually like it and believe it’s place on the dining tables of Taiwan is well-deserved!
