💐 Planting Time - David Austin Standard Rose & lots of Spring Colour in the Secret Garden💐
Spring is in the air, and it's time to get planting! In this episode, I'm adding a beautiful standard David Austin rose — Lady of Shalott — to my home garden. I'll walk you through exactly how I plant her up, incorporating well-rotted horse manure for that rich, nourishing start she deserves, along with a stake and ties to keep her standing tall and proud through the seasons ahead.
But not everything in the garden is welcome. I'm also tackling a couple of persistent troublemakers — the spreading bamboo that's been creeping under the fence from next door, and the vigorous (and toxic!) Aconitum that's been getting a little too comfortable. Out they come.
From there, I move on to potting up some gorgeous seasonal plants before carrying them through to the secret garden — always one of my favourite moments — where we finish with a short, peaceful presentation set to some beautiful music. The perfect way to end a satisfying day in the garden.
Whether you're a seasoned horticulturalist or just beginning your growing journey, I hope this brings you a little joy and inspiration.
