Financial Advisor Reacts to INSANE Money Clips

L
Loan Advisors

Viral money clips are everywhere, but which ones are actually good advice, and which ones could get people into trouble?

In this video, I react as a financial advisor and CFP® to viral finance clips covering IRAs, 401(k)s, Roth accounts, mortgage payments, dividend investing, 0% car loans, payday loans, credit cards, bankruptcy, and “buy, borrow, die” tax strategies.

Some of the advice is surprisingly reasonable. Some of it is incomplete. And some of it is just flat-out wrong.

We’ll talk about:
• Why “penalty-free” does not mean “tax-free” with retirement accounts
• What viral IRA advice gets wrong about RMDs and inherited IRAs
• Whether 0% financing is actually a smart move
• When paying extra on your mortgage makes sense
• The danger of chasing dividend yield
• Why payday loans can be financially brutal
• What people misunderstand about rich people using debt
• The real opportunity cost of expensive car and truck purchases
• Roth 401(k) vs. traditional 401(k) tax confusion
• How to use credit cards responsibly
• Why bankruptcy is not always a moral failure
