Look at that. It's just the sea. That's all it is.
It's nice to relax and enjoy.
Go crazy.
Okay, we've given the camera a minute to wake up.
That's fair enough. You know, it's a lot.
Fair enough that it needs a couple of minutes in the morning to get ready for the day.
Don't we all. Good morning guys.
Welcome to a brand new vlog.
I've got my iced coffee. We're here in Boracay.
And listen, peace, quiet, tranquility.
And it's 8am. It's late. It's already late.
It's later than when we would usually even be going down for breakfast.
But something about this side of the island we're not steaming up again, surely.
Well done Remi. We're all getting ready here.
Remi's now got a little toothbrush.
I want to iron my socks.
You want to iron your socks?
I've been ironing a couple of shirts this morning.
Your clothes just get so, so creased.
Whenever there's an iron in a hotel, we get the job done.
That's what we do. Not always, but sometimes.
Yeah, Remi's got his... He's been teething this whole trip, bless him.
He's been alright the last couple of weeks, but he's now got...
Lucy, it's two tops, right?
One top, the other one coming through, three bottom teeth.
And we've noticed since his teeth coming through, he's loving his food even more.
Even more than usual, just so, so much.
And he's just eating anything we're eating.
So yesterday, he was just eating a huge bit of chicken.
At breakfast, he'll have eggs and whatever kind of meat is on.
It's actually been pretty easy feeding him out here.
We were not concerned, but it was a kind of thing we were thinking about.
We were like, what's he going to eat?
Do we have to bring baby food and stuff like that?
But really, he's just been loving it, especially the fruit.
He just loves mango. He loves pineapple.
We read a lot of comments from other parents saying,
how are you traveling with kids and the behind the scenes of it also.
Hopefully that gives a little bit of an insight to some of that stuff.
And Coda's great. Coda, you'll just eat so much stuff, won't you, mate?
I want to get some books.
Sorry, I'm literally using Coda's books as a tripod.
And that's why the angle's getting lower every time because he's taking a book away.
Yeah, Coda's been eating loads of stuff.
He's been really adventurous, actually, haven't you?
Anything that we get, Coda will try.
Even if he doesn't like it, it's fair enough.
But we're just pleased that he tries stuff, even if he doesn't like it.
It doesn't matter.
It's just, I think, giving these kids this experience around the world
with all these different foods and meeting all these different people and stuff
is just great. It's just great.
That was cool.
Ready?
Yeah.
Put your feet in.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Put the buggy in.
Oh, no.
It's going to close on me.
Let's go.
Coda, what have we said about pressing lift buttons?
Nope, nope, nope, nope.
Down at the breakfast buffet.
What do we have here?
Ooh, some salads, some fruit.
Again, for Remy.
Is this for Remy or Coda?
I was hoping you'd keep him in there and not see the fruit loops before he expects.
Fruit loops and chocolate cereal.
Okay, mate.
Thank you.
We got some eggs first, my darling.
Get the good stuff in first.
We're just getting ready to do a little bit of sightseeing in a minute.
We're going to a couple of points by the ocean.
There's a nice ocean breeze, I have to say.
We're on the thick floor up here.
Behind us is a pool just behind us here.
It looks very nice.
I'm going to be taking a dip in that later on.
That's what I have to do.
But, yeah, the actual pool is amazing.
There's people on ATVs going along here.
So here's the people on the ATVs I was saying about.
And then the water here looks so nice and, like, turquoise-y blue.
We are going to be heading out in, like, the super hot midday.
So it's only half ten, but by the time we're out, it's going to be heading towards that
super hot bit of the day.
So hopefully there's a bit of shade.
We will play it by ear, see how we go.
Really excited to explore a little bit more today.
And then later on, I'm just happening later because George and I have booked into a spa
for some great special treatment.
If you're coming to the Philippines and you're, like, a tourist, you've lived here before,
but if you've never been before, often in England, say you're going for a holiday to
Spain, like a vacation, you'd go to get your hair done before, you'd get your nails done
in the salon, you'd get your, maybe your eyebrows done, your, like, whatever you get done, you
get done.
And you kind of go on holiday.
This isn't, this isn't everyone, but it's quite a thing in England to kind of get ready
for a holiday, going, being your kind of most, your best self, your, like, heightened beauty
self, I suppose you'd say, like, fresh manicure, fresh haircut, all looking and feeling good.
In the Philippines, I would recommend coming as your worst self because, and this is not,
I'm not as materialistic as I'm sounding right now.
You don't have to do all these things to look good, obviously, you know what I mean.
But if you're someone who does get beauty treatments done, don't get them done before
you come to the Philippines.
Wait.
Hold your horses, as we say in England.
Hold your horses and do it when you get here.
There's several reasons why I'd say so.
It's obviously, the obvious one is, it's super affordable.
Where we were staying in Cebu had an advert for a buffet and a 60-minute massage for 1,800
pesos.
So you get a full buffet dinner experience and you get a 60-minute massage.
In England, a 60-minute massage probably is around 70 pounds, I would say, as a minimum.
It would be more expensive in, like, a fancy spa, but, like, in kind of a normal, like,
local-ish massage parlour, 60 pounds.
So what's that in pesos?
Let me do some, let me do some translating here.
70 GBP to PHP is a whopping 5,628 pesos.
You're going to get a buffet as well for 1,800.
The treatments we're having here, I think George's is around, I'll double-check before
we go, I'll double-check later, I can't, I'm not going to just guess it, but you can get
massages almost in your app that come to you, and that's, like, 500 pesos, which is just,
it's so ridiculously cheap.
And my nails yesterday that I got done here, so 500 pesos is, like, 6.20 GBP for a 60-minute
massage.
It's insane.
It's literally crazy.
You add a little, you add a nice tip onto that, and it's, like, it's not much more,
it's just, it's nuts.
The nails I had done yesterday, I had a full manicure, it took, like, an hour, they look
really good, and that cost me 700 pesos.
I had my hair done in BGC as well, you may have seen that vlog, and that was an amazing
treatment, and things just don't cost much money here.
So, firstly, the affordability.
Then, the actual quality, it's, like, sometimes you might think if you're paying less for
something, you're going to get a worse experience, but I have to say, I feel like all my experiences
here at Nail Salons, the nails last longer, like, they don't chip as easy, they don't
peel off.
It's a really high quality of service that you're getting for such a cheap price, and
the massages are always so good, like, I just wish that we could get it so cheap in England,
but of course we can't.
If we live back out here again, like, we'd be getting massages every week, there's no
brainer out here.
In England, it's more like a special occasion or something you do very rarely because of
how much more expensive it costs.
So, yeah, very, very excited for the treatments later.
We're going separately.
My massage is, I've never ever even heard of this, I don't know if this is, like, a first
thing or if it's a known thing.
I've personally been to many spas, had lots of treatments in the past, I've never ever
heard of this.
It's called a four-hand massage.
So there's two therapists that do, like, um, what's the word?
Oh, it's not on the tip of my tongue.
Maybe I'm thinking of the word synchronised, I don't know.
A synchronised thing where they basically do the same mirrored actions on both sides.
So you know how relaxing a massage is when they're, like, gliding their hands on, like,
your back and you go, oh, it's just so good.
Imagine that doubled.
Like, I think, I don't know, I might imagine if I hate it.
I think I'm going to love it.
So I'm really excited for that because I've never heard of it.
I'd love to know in the comments if this is a thing or if you've ever had something like
this.
But I personally have never ever come across a four-hand massage.
Crazy.
Maybe we'll go into an eight-hand next.
Anyway, we are going to get going now and we've got a van picking us up, um, to head
down to this area we're going to be checking out.
So, yeah, see you when we get there.
And we're hopefully going to be swimming in the sea again a bit later on today.
So, yeah, really excited for today.
Let's get going.
Let's go to the beach.
Beach is what I was going to say.
Thanks, guys.
Thanks.
So you do because we're here and it's happening.
Angel here from the hotel is taking us to see one of the things to do here, one of the
things to see, the famous...
How do you get in there?
We go around here first, then we swim there in a bit.
So we're going to do some swimming on this beach soon, but we're quickly going for a
short walk down this walkway here.
We're going to see the Keyhole of Barachai, which is a rock formation that basically looks
like a keyhole and people walking up and down to come and see it.
So we thought it'd be nice whilst we're here, when in Rome, to tick off one of the things
to do.
I can't get over the colour of the water.
It's just absolutely stunning.
It just changes as you go out as well.
It just gets bluer and bluer and bluer.
So, so nice.
There's little coves and beaches I can see, can't really see in the distance.
Tiny little spots of white sand.
Amazing.
I just want to get in the water right now.
Do you need a bigger umbrella, Koda?
Let's go.
Is that okay?
You got it.
So here it is, the famous keyhole created by the winds and the waves.
Nature's, nature's artwork, I guess.
Very nice for like any kind of touristy spot or place to come and do.
So, of course, there's loads of people taking pictures, so we'll wait our turn.
We'll get a couple of photos and make it look like we were here all by ourselves.
Okay, we've got a little box of cookies here for the ride as well.
Little?
A large box of cookies here for the ride.
Cheers.
Very good.
Is it?
Not for you, Rem, sorry.
And not for the cameraman, apparently.
No.
Two for me, two for Koda.
Okay, we've driven up the, like, zig-zaggy hill here.
Ate a cookie in the van, so it smells great.
And we've come up to the 360 viewing deck thing.
Just managing to check out a few good spots on this tour.
And this is Cove 3, which is kind of a bit of a secret hidden beach.
There's actually, I don't even know if there's anyone here.
I can just, there's no one here except the two of us.
We're just getting some steps down.
I'm just going to check this out quickly myself because it's a little bit difficult with the stroller and Remi.
Oh my goodness, that actually looks so nice.
They've got like, I thought it was like seating areas, but it's not.
There's, it's kind of an untouched beach, actually.
Let's go right down.
Quickly getting my own little slice of Brackeye paradise.
Seemingly all to myself, which I would never have expected on this island known for nightlife, partying, atmosphere.
Well, let's have a look.
Okay, so it's quite a lot of steps.
I'm now thinking about walking back up.
That's going to be nice in the heat.
But we need to get some steps in because today I've only done 2,700 steps.
Not enough.
Try and get 10,000 a day in.
Oh, wow.
This is stunning.
Oh, this is super nice.
Look at the angels waiting.
I'm smart.
I'm going to run down here because I'm a silly British tourist that is a sucker for this white sand.
I guess if you live here, if you're from the Philippines, maybe, yeah, do you get used to it or ever take it for granted?
Maybe like, why shouldn't you if you live here?
This is like what your country has to offer.
We were amazed by it every single time.
Look at that.
No one on this beach.
Imagine that I just come down here for the day.
Sorry, Lucy.
All the parenting's on you.
What I should do is offer that experience to Lucy, actually.
Say, look, I'll take the boys.
You come down here, have some food, have a fresh coconut.
The guy's selling coconuts.
I should maybe go and get some cash and buy one.
I could really do with fresh buko right now.
Look at this.
I can't quite believe I'm just here.
Listen, it's just the sea.
It's all it is.
What a beautiful, beautiful place.
Okay, I'm glad I jumped down here and did this.
And you can see, actually, that is where we were just now, earlier on, the keyhole.
And this is right the way round.
Unbelievable.
Okay, that is way too much of a tease.
We are going to swim now.
We're going to head back to Cove 2.
They split the beach up into coves.
It's all the new coast area.
So, yes, definitely need to strip down, get some sun on my skin.
Some sun cream on first.
Learned the hard way in Cebu.
Got burnt pretty bad.
I'm getting the water.
Definitely feeling hot.
And especially after now having to climb up these steps,
we're going to need a bit of a refreshing dip.
So let's go swim.
Oh, this is so nice.
The Filipino hospitality strikes again.
They've set us up a lunch here, some sandwiches.
Not sure what's in there.
You want a cheese sandwich?
Yep, I think.
No, that's got bacon in it.
Nice.
This is cheese.
Oh, that looks good.
It's like a grilled cheese.
What is that?
Cheese sandwich.
What's this?
I don't know.
Remy, enjoy, enjoy.
Not sure what's in here.
Whole box of Red Horse.
No, it's not Red Horse.
It's San Pellegrino.
We are keeping chilled with some mineral water.
It's just fruits, Koda.
That's what we want, isn't it?
I'm going to crack one of these bad boys open.
No.
Why do you need water?
Makes it easier to make sandcastles.
Yes.
We are now going for a swim.
We're going to get in this beautiful water behind us
and enjoy, cool off a little bit.
We've had a lovely lunch.
The Chancellor Hotel that we're staying at,
have really set all this up for us today.
So huge thanks to them.
Angel's been amazing.
She's been helping with Remy and Koda and the kids.
She brought the lunch down and stuff.
Just absolutely incredible.
She's great.
I'll carry you in.
Is it warm or cold?
Actually, that's not even that cold, is it?
I was going to do the whole,
oh, it's a bit cold.
It's really not.
It's not, it's nice.
Super nice.
I'm about to drop either Koda or the camera.
So I need to put one of you down.
Camera.
Okay.
The water's actually really loud here.
At the waves.
And it's not, it's a little bit choppy,
but it's not that choppy.
I'm surprised at how loud the waves are.
That bit sticking out there, closer to us,
is like the most northern point of Baratay.
And then the land,
oh my goodness.
The land there is Carabao Island.
And we've been to Carabao Island.
And then the land past that is like,
is Pablas Island,
which I don't believe we've been to.
But Carabao Island.
We've been there.
That's so cool.
Yeah, we got a boat from Baratay into Carabao Island.
Amazing.
So yeah, that is Carabao Island behind us right now.
So cool.
It looks really close,
but it's definitely not that close.
I remember it being quite a long journey.
And I remember like water coming into the boat.
I've got some memory of it.
That was a great trip.
Stayed at a really cool place on the edge of like a cliff.
So many showers and bits of coral on this beach as well.
Obviously there's a little bit of construction going on behind us,
but as the years go on,
or the months go on,
I assume that's going to get lesser and lesser
once things are actually built up here.
They're building like a third block of the,
third building of the hotel we're staying at.
Once that's done,
I suppose all of this like construction stuff will be gone
and it'll feel a bit more like,
more like paradise, I suppose.
So I really would like to come back like in a few years
to see how things have developed
because it's definitely,
definitely a big project going on here at the moment.
You've even got like the tractor marks in the sand behind us
when they're busy building.
Just so nice to be on this beach.
Appreciate it.
We've realised that our,
we've still got a long time on this trip left.
Don't worry.
The vlogs aren't going anywhere.
We've got loads left,
but we've realised we've actually been out of England
for quite a while now,
for many, many weeks,
well over a month.
And it's like,
it's not coming to an end yet.
We're not even,
we're not even,
we're not even halfway yet,
but it still feels like we need to appreciate this
because soon it won't be like this every day,
waking up to like this all the time
and like going to new places
and enjoying this paradise.
If you're wondering what this bruise is,
by the way,
on my arm,
I keep getting them.
Remy,
when he's feeding,
he likes to pinch me.
I try and stop him,
but I like,
I pull it off,
I pull him off,
I pull him off
and he just keeps going for my arm.
So,
in case you're wondering,
that's Remy.
He's got very strong grip,
I have to say.
Anyway,
I think we're going to head back to,
what time is it?
Yeah,
it's half one.
I've got a massage in an hour and a half
and I want to get back and get a shower
and stuff,
get ready for that,
get back to our room
and then I think we're going to swim
at the pool later
because we haven't checked that out yet.
It's nice,
like being in swimwear all day,
basically.
I've chosen a bad route here.
I'm now walking across rocks.
Hmm.
Change of plan.
Let me walk this way instead.
Okay,
it's that time of day,
heading to the spa.
Very excited for this.
Cannot wait.
We've had just,
well,
Jordan's had two.
I've had one massage
since we've been in the Philippines.
This is my second.
Cannot wait,
honestly.
It feels good when you're not a parent,
but when you're not a parent,
but when you're a parent
to a young child
who needs carrying a lot
or two kids
that like being carried a lot.
I think I've caught the sun today.
I'm constantly,
like,
feeling runny,
like,
carrying suitcases,
sitting on flights.
Like,
my back could do with this.
I swear,
every time I have a massage,
like,
my skin,
it's so sensitive.
Any pressure on my skin,
it just goes red.
Like,
I look like I've been slapped
in the face.
I haven't,
but it's always the same.
Like,
you can see I've gone kind of red.
It's really weird
but,
anyway,
massage all done.
It was really good.
I was kind of thinking in there,
like,
about the four hands thing.
I suppose because it takes
two people
an hour,
it's effectively
two hours worth of massage
condensed into one hour,
if that makes sense,
because it would take,
so,
one lady did my legs,
the other one did my,
like,
top half of my arms,
my back,
and my shoulders.
It's like,
what would normally take someone
literally two hours
to do that long in each place,
it took an hour.
It was like,
just like a different experience
having two masseuses,
therapists,
at the same time.
So,
I'd recommend trying it
if you haven't,
because,
yeah,
I really enjoyed it.
Really good.
I look ridiculous.
I can't believe there's a red mark on my head.
I swear it doesn't look this bad in person,
but this camera is,
I think that's better.
When it goes overexposed,
you can't tell.
But,
anyway,
very pleased with that.
George has got his treatment tonight.
He's having,
like,
a full body scrub.
He's got,
like,
a two hour treatment.
I have to be around for Remy
if he wakes up in the night,
so George is having,
a late,
late night massage,
full to our experience.
So,
he's going to take you along for that.
But,
anyway,
I am now back,
and we shall now swim.
So,
that's our room,
I think,
the top one.
Daddy,
come in.
We're coming,
we're coming.
Our room is,
our room,
our room is the one with thousands
of birds on the balcony,
because Remy dropped a bread roll,
without us realising.
The lady here,
who's been coming around with us,
like,
helping us,
showing us around and stuff,
is so lovely.
Her name's Angel,
and I often call Coda Angel,
so I'm like,
come here,
Angel.
I don't know,
I just call him that.
Isn't it,
like,
the last few weeks I've started doing it?
I don't know why,
but I used to call him,
like,
Bubba,
or Sweetheart,
or Darling,
but now it's,
Angel.
And I've started saying Angel,
in the van earlier,
I was like,
come here, Angel,
and she was like,
looked back at me,
almost like I'm like,
come here, Angel.
And she came to you.
She came to me.
She is an angel.
She is a real life angel,
she's great,
bless her.
Anyway,
we are swimming,
and then we are eating again,
dinner very soon,
but it's nice to relax,
and enjoy.
Do it,
do it,
go crazy.
No,
do it,
do it.
Don't do it,
don't do it,
don't do it.
Can you hear a girl screaming?
Yeah,
I was wondering who that was.
How is it, Rems?
Is it good?
Egg,
yes, egg,
always egg.
Nice pool here,
really nice,
nice to cool down,
freshen up a little bit,
eh?
This is amazing.
It's amazing.
The bad pool,
no.
Wow,
there you go,
you heard it there,
Koda's review.
That was a really nice spot.
I feel like this looks so nice.
We kind of got a moody evening,
reddish sky,
lovely.
We've come up
for
a special dinner
on the rooftop
of the Chancellor this evening.
They've set this amazing table up for us,
just for us,
like,
it's amazing,
like,
we don't request,
like,
the treatment we get here
is so, so kind.
It's not needed,
it's really
above and beyond,
it's over the top,
but it is,
we're hugely grateful for it,
it's very much appreciated,
it's really, really lovely.
We've got a view down here,
okay,
little bit going on down there this evening.
Some kind of,
I don't know,
can't really see.
You can see here where the
building work,
wait,
let me get some height quickly.
You can see where
the building work is going on here,
but just down here,
there's gonna,
there's like a kids area,
there's,
it almost looks like
it's gonna be kind of like a mall.
If there was, like,
loads going on here in the future,
bars and restaurants,
some shops,
things to do,
I guess that's the whole idea of this area,
that's why they're building it up,
like,
this may be the place to be
at some point in the future
in the next few years.
But it looks like there's
something kind of going on
down there this evening,
and you can see
the keyhole
where we went to earlier.
But yes,
it is dinner time.
I've ordered the burger again.
I'm definitely a person
to try lots of different foods,
like,
go through a menu
if we're staying somewhere,
but it was so good last night,
it was genuinely so good,
so I've ordered it again.
Because sometimes,
my dad always says,
sometimes he finishes a meal
and he thinks,
I could literally just eat
that whole thing again,
it was just so good.
It's gone now,
I just want it again.
So that's kind of what I've done.
Down here as well,
it looks like it's going to be
like,
kind of pedestrian area.
All of this is empty units right now,
I believe it looks like.
But,
imagine this as like
a cool night out
kind of place
with some atmosphere.
Once there's more people here,
you're going to get
that atmosphere
and it's going to be cool.
Wait for the wind.
It's not happening,
is it?
I was going to get
a really nice cinematic shot.
Two bubbles came out.
There you go,
very nice,
very nice.
The food has arrived,
I'm going to have to use
a phone light
because we've got this
glow underneath the table
so the camera's
struggling slightly.
But here we go,
I've got the BBQ ribs
that look really good.
I also ordered this
which is the
Manak Bisaya Soup
and we had it on our
first day here
and I loved it.
Jorda's got the burger again.
Codes and Remy
have got pizza
and steamed vegetables.
We've got fresh buko.
The sky behind us
has gone like all purple.
The sun sets this side
so it rises on the beach here
and it sets
the other side of the island
but you get like
the sort of purple-y
hues above your head
which is really nice.
But yeah,
really excited for this soup.
I ordered it as an extra
because I'd already
put the order in
and I was like
no I want that soup again.
I think soup is my thing here.
I love Sinigang
and I love this one.
I've never had this before.
It's like native chicken,
there's ginger pieces in it,
there's other vegetables
so I want to plate
some of it up first.
And it was just like
so salty and so satisfying
and even though it's hot weather
having a soup
still just feels right.
Don't know,
something about it.
So this soup,
I'm just trying to
tell you what it tastes like
if you've never tried it before.
Imagine an English chicken soup
then instead of
watery broth
it's coconut
based broth
like coconut milk.
It's very chicken-y,
it's the perfect amount
of saltiness,
it's just so much flavour,
so much seasoning in it.
I feel like it would be great
if you were like
unwell,
if you were feeling
under the weather.
I think that's going into
my list of favourite
Filipino foods.
Maybe like top 5.
Ooh,
that would be good to discuss.
I'm going to ask George
in a minute his top 5
and I'll think about mine
as well.
What an amazing evening.
That was fantastic.
I'm not going to speak
too loud
because people are asleep
but we had dinner
on the rooftop
as you saw
absolutely stunning
and then I
have just returned.
It's a few hours later.
I had a two hour
spa treatment.
Incredible,
so so good,
so relaxing.
Getting two hours
to yourself as a parent
unheard of
or as a parent of
young kids
unheard of
for us anyway.
Lucy had her
massage earlier on.
I had
a body scrub.
So just like
extra relaxing
although it got
more relaxing
as it went on
because the body scrub
is actually quite rough
if you've ever had one.
It's like salty
I don't know
rough kind of
sand like kind of stuff
and they scrub you
and I'm hoping
that it's really
cleared my skin
and made it really smooth.
Had that bit of sunburn
which was like
peeling or whatever
so I'll look tomorrow
but yeah that was great
and then you
like shower that off
and then you have
a full
like normal massage
after that anyway
and then you have
a full massage
after that as well
so that was
an amazing experience
really really cool.
The price as well
here at this hotel
I think it's like
two thousand
something
or so
British pounds
not
put it on screen
it's not a lot
of money
compared to the UK.
If you've never been
to the Philippines
or Asia
and you enjoy
like spa treatment
like Lucy gets her
hair done here
or this kind of
I don't know
that you do
for yourself
nails
whatever
it's just so
affordable here
for us
it's such good value
and of course
we tip
and we hope
by the people doing it
are being paid
well enough
for what they're doing
and stuff like that
we always like tip
generously and stuff
but for us
it's
we're just comparing
it to the UK
and it is
so so much cheaper
so yeah
so so good
really enjoyed that
hope to get another
couple of things
like that booked in
whilst we're
in the Philippines
whilst we're in Asia
in general
on this big trip
we're gonna sign off
the vlog here
look at that shadow
I'm casting on the wall
there
gonna sign the vlog off here
that was a lemon tea
I'm sitting by the way
they also surprised me
with lemon tea at the end
so that was
no it's not even lemon tea
just lemon water
they had a choice of teas
and some fresh lemon
and I was like
I'm just gonna have
some lemon water
before bed
just wanted to make sure
there's no caffeine
but yeah
gonna sign off here
from the balcony
from the beautiful Verraco
which you probably can't see
because it's pitch black
