Graduate program loan limits What s changed
We’re back with another episode of Straight Talk With Scholten. This week, we’re breaking down a major change to our federal student loan system. President Trump’s new spending law puts strict limits on graduate borrowing, and the Department of Education’s narrowed definition of “professional” leaves out many of the fields West Michigan relies on.
These changes could make it harder for students to pursue nursing, social work, counseling, public health, and other essential careers — and worsen workforce shortages across our community.
Let’s talk about what’s happening and why it matters. Thanks for tuning in.
