Join me for a relaxing walk through Södermalm in Stockholm, starting on Ringvägen (Ring Road) – one of the district’s major arteries, lined with shops, housing, and local life. I turn onto Hornsgatan (Horn Street), a vibrant and historic street that runs across the island, full of culture and urban rhythm.

From there, I head up Blecktornsgränd (Tin Tower Alley), a cobblestone alley that leads to one of the city’s most scenic paths – Monteliusvägen (Montelius Path). This cliffside walkway offers a stunning view of Stockholm City Hall and the rooftops of Gamla stan.

Continuing along Bastugatan (Sauna Street), I pass Bellmansgatan (Bellman Street) – named after Sweden’s beloved poet Carl Michael Bellman – then continue deeper into the heart of Mariaberget. I pass the picturesque Pryssgränd (Pryss Alley), lined with old wooden houses, and cross the steep Maria Trappgränd (Maria Stairway Alley), heading toward Pustegränd (Pant Alley) – a staircase where climbing used to leave people "panting."

The route then takes me over Södra Järnvägsbron (Southern Railway Bridge), where trains pass overhead and the views open toward Riddarfjärden. I reach Munkbrohamnen (Monk Bridge Quay), a peaceful stretch by the water near Gamla stan, and finally arrive at Hebbes bro (Hebbe’s Bridge) – a small pedestrian bridge with views toward Riddarholmen – where I end this city walk.
