Nana Kai Koa Floor Plan: Pool, Hot Tub, and the Best Backyard in the Community

Aloha again guys. We are in model number four in our series of the homes that they have here at Nanakai up in Kohala. This one is my favorite one. I kind of joked at the last video that the first one was my favorite, then the second, and the third, and then the fourth. This one really is my favorite one so far. I don't know if they're going to be able to top this for a number of reasons, but this is the best model that they've done, at least for me. And I want to know if it's best one for you. We're going to look at the outside, the inside. We're going to talk about our favorite things and anything that we would change on this one. Like and subscribe to get number five. I've been doing it for a long time, and I'm here to bring you some property tours and show you what kind of amazing cool things that we have out here. In Nanakai right now, listed by Tomo Matsumoto over at Puna Realty. She's done a great job marketing these, bringing them to market. And we've got five models in here. We've already checked out number one, number two, number three. We're here now at number four. Next week, we're going to go to number five. You're going to want to see all of these, but they've done an amazing job in here. This is another two-story floor plan. Absolutely huge. This is undoubtedly my favorite one for a number of reasons. At the end, we're going to talk about our favorite things, and that's going to be a long list, at least for me. We have this plantation front look with our double, boy, double stack there. We've got a lanai right here that's covered. We've got an upper lanai that's covered. We've got all those doors. We've got a two-car garage with individual doors. This is the koa floor plan. Good job here in the front yard. It looks absolutely gorgeous. And then right here, we've got our texture. See, they put in like, I don't know if it's rocks. I can't remember if it's rocks or salt. This one might not be the salt finish that's brushed off. It might be the rock finish that's brushed off. It could even be a stamp. Someone out there is watching and knows, and I'm happy for you to correct me and let me know. I learned from you as well on this stained driveway. When you get these models, they've done a lot to them, and you can buy these models as well. They might not be listed on the MLS, but you can buy them, and they'll lease them back from you. So you get like your mortgage costs covered for a long time as they lease them back. So they continue to sell more things. Then you get the unit at the end, and someone's already paid for a few years of your mortgage. So you have to pay for all these upgrades and enhancements that they've done. But if you like upgrades and enhancements, it ain't a bad idea. You've got a board and batten finish out here with this nice gray and a white trim, black windows, more of this Sapele on the doors. Absolutely gorgeous. 24 by 24 tiled down below. Listen, if I'm annoying you guys because I talk too fast, this is going to be one that's going to be like, oh crap, Mike's really, really going, because there's going to be a lot to get to. But I'm trying to get you as much as we can on this one. Two foot by four foot large format tile below. We've seen that in a few of these now. This is the Koa 3,155 square feet. It feels bigger to me. Absolutely amazing. Good job on this. We have this nice, wonderful entry. This is a tile actually. Kind of has a slight bamboo look. Really gorgeous. We're keeping our high ceilings, our sheen finish texture on our walls. Nice and modern, 90 degree corners, high baseboards. We've seen this now. Their standard is pretty high. We've seen this now for a while. That living space is amazing. They call that a tease in the business. First, we're going to come check out this bedroom, which is really neat because it has access directly outside. It's kind of cool if you have someone staying over. They can use this. They can come in and out here. Wouldn't make it the teenager's bedroom. Not if your teenager was anything like me. Kind of a cool setup that we have there. It's a queen size bed. You got plenty of space. You can put a full king size bed in there if you wanted to. Eastern king, California king, whatever. Another time that they've done a window on both sides of the corner, you don't see that as often as you might think. It really is a nice touch and it really just helps open things up with light. We've got nice, huge, deep claws. I was just walking in this thing. I'm going to spin around here and then we're going to hit the camera button three times. One, two, three. There I am, guys. Just to give you some perspective, I'm not the thinnest guy in the world, I'm ashamed to say. I'm not ashamed. There's plenty of space in there. Let's spin it back around and there we go. En suite bathroom in here. Full overlay on, I believe, Sapele cabinets. I had to pause for a second, guys. Let's get down here. Do you know what I'm looking at? If you've been on the channel for a long time, you know what I'm looking at. If you haven't been, I'll tell you what I'm looking at. These are bookmatched. What does that mean? This was a single piece of wood that was cut and then put on the faces of this thing. You can tell because the grains line up. See how the grain lines up right there? I know that's not a big deal, but that is the important attention to detail that you want when you're buying a luxury home at this high level, is that you can have some of that. When you see it, you really like it. Then when you like it, you look for it. Then when you look for it and don't see it, it drives you bananas. I hope I didn't spoil anything for anybody. I really like that they did that. Good job on that. Quartz countertops, gold fixtures here. Looks great. Toilet over here. Again, zero threshold entry here on our shower. We've seen that throughout. Large format tile. I really like that tile. I wouldn't have hated it if they put that tile out here even. Looks really good. I'm a big fan of that. Then again, we have our brushed nickel. I've talked about that already. Even though that will match the Schluter and they match it with the hinges on this one, I would just want it to match our other accents that we have here. Small thing. In fact, I bet if I get you under contract on this thing, I can negotiate that they will change that for you. All right. Oh, we have a powder room there. I was about to show you. Again, bookmatched. Left and right. You can tell right there at the bottom. See how that angled one goes from one to the other? Good job. Full fabric wallpaper in here on all the walls. Again, a timeless look. 10-foot ceilings, pendant lights with wonderful large mirror. Okay, guys. No more teasing. If there was one thing I would change in here and everything else, I am super stoked about. You got that lanai. We got the double slider. Again, these aren't pocket sliders. They all will stack up in that last piece here. So, you got one, two, three that stack up in the fourth one. And the same on the other side. So, this opens up really wide. And you got the large format tile down here and right out here as well. So, it maintains that look. I'm just going to go ahead and get to the thing I'm not a big fan of. I don't love that wall quite so much. These are tiles. They are ceramic. Kind of a wood look. But it's just, I don't dig that. But whatever. Rip it out, change it. Who cares? It's a nice big impressive wall with lots of space for a huge TV if you want to do that. I love our sideboard that we have down here. Our ceiling treatment with these big lights. Our AC vents hidden up there so you don't even really see them. All the way up there. They're not in the walls. Just stuck on. So, really nice job on that. This is by far and away our biggest great room that we've had. And the biggest one that we will have in any of the five models. And that's one of the big things that makes it my favorite. But it's not the only thing. Plenty of space here. I mean, this is a large living space with big furniture. They've got seating here for five, six, seven. With plenty of room in between everybody. A table with six chairs. You can easily fit an eight or ten person table there. Got lots of space between the table and the living room. Got lots of space between the table and the dining room or a kitchen over here. Really good job on that. Absolutely amazing. The size of that wall of that double slider. Absolutely a huge fan. I'm also a massive fan of this kitchen. Again, we have bookmatched cabinets. Nice rich look with gold accents. Stainless steel on our Thermador line of appliances. Thermador refrigerator. Microwave oven. I believe one or both of those is a convection. Also, I think on our dishwasher. Thermador on our glass cooktop. I also am a super huge fan of this quartz countertop. Now, I've noticed now pretty consistently, but not exclusively, they're doing a lot of matte finish on here. This is something that we're starting to see more and more. I did a gloss on mine. I don't regret it. But also, I'm not hating the matte finish on this as well. It has a little bit more of a natural look. This isn't the honed or leathered look that you'll have on some where there's a lot of texture on it. But it's just not as reflective. And it looks really good. Nice rich double waterfall. Good job on that. We have our Sapele kick down below here on our island. Just absolutely well done. Pendant lights look great. One, two, three of those. And then our super large counter depth side-by-side Thermador refrigerator. I think we had this in our first two as well. Good job on that. Plenty of cabinet space below. Got a decent amount of cabinet space up above. Again, we have a tile going up above and behind our vent. They didn't stop it there. Again, these are the Belmont cabinets, I believe. Yes, they are. Dovetail joints, soft close. Really, really well done. I like it. Now we can come through here. I know I haven't shown you any of the garages yet. I'll give you a quick peek here. Full pantry on this one with built-ins. Really nice job. Spin around over here to our utility washer, dryer, sink, and the Sapele bookmatched even in here in the utility. Guys, are you kidding me? Good job on that. Two car garage door. There's all those doors. They take them off so that you can walk around these models. Now, I've mentioned it the first three times. I'm trying not to beat you guys down with it, but I got to say the first thing you need to do if you're interested out here is give me a call, text, or email. Have me work with you to make sure you get exactly what you want. Every option that you can get and incentive that you can get, you can get with me. Sometimes inside the business, you know things that people outside the business don't know. That's why you hire someone like me. My compensation will be paid by them if you talk to me first. I just want to give you a quick heads up on that. I'm going to go straight to my second favorite thing. We're just going to do it as we go. This primary is baller. Absolutely huge primary bedroom. So much light coming in because you got one, two, three walls with windows and doors that let in a ton of light. So this sort of peninsula is out in the floor plan and you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm going to go check that backyard out here pretty quick. Really good job on this. We have this large canopy bed. You remember my comments from one of the earlier floor plans where I wasn't a super big fan of the canopy bed because it makes the room look a little bit smaller. This room is so big that the canopy can't possibly make it smaller. You could fit almost three of those canopy beds in here. You could certainly fit two if you wanted to. And low-key, I know we don't like to talk about this, but I know lots of people out there who don't sleep in the same bed. It's just one of them is an active sleeper, one of them talks, one of them snores, and it's hard to find a house that has room for two beds. I know it's June in Ward Cleaver. We're going back to the 50s, but a lot of people sleep in two beds. And, you know, I don't think they'd mind sleeping in the same room if we build houses with rooms big enough for two beds. Well, this is that floor plan. So, I mean, tell me, do any of you go traveling and you get a hotel room and you're like, they're like, hey, king bed or two queens? And you look at your partner, you're like, I wouldn't mind two queens tonight. Well, you know, you have to have space for it. Okay, moving on. Nice, good size walk-in closet with rails on all three sides to hang up there. And then plenty of linen space down here. We got our book match, lots of cabin space. This is our biggest bathroom as far as absolute amount of cabinet space. And then on top of it, let me check out this thing. Even more space. That's like a, it's like a 48, 52 inch cabinet. That's huge. Nice big window windows, mirrors here with the lights around the outside gold trim. I know it's a bold choice for with the wood, but it looks pretty good. I like it. It probably, I don't, you should check it out. If you have, if you're not sure that you like it, see it in person. You'll probably like it again. We've got that matte finish down here on our countertops. It looks really good. And then let's come over here. This is another thing I really like about it. And there's a door going outside. I wonder what that is. We've got a nice deep freestanding tub. I'm a fan of it right in the middle of the room, but it doesn't get in your way because you have the shower right there with a door on both sides. Kind of cool. I gotta say zero threshold entry in here. We've seen that consistently throughout their offerings. Really good job. We've got our stone pebble sort of thing on the bottom. It feels great on your feet. One by six tile over here, niche with a schluter around and you go back out on this side. I like it. We have a privacy door. Doors are in the closet or in the garage as you saw for our toilet. And then out here, you got an outdoor shower. I don't think we've seen that yet. Really cool. And then a gate to go out. You want to go down to the backyard, out to the pool. If you're in the pool and you want to come in this way and rinse off, you can do that as well. So really, really cool. I like the outdoor shower. So by far and away, this is my favorite primary suite. It's just so big and spacious. I absolutely love it. Favorite primary suite, favorite living space. We already had a bedroom up there that could be sort of its own little thing because it has had an en suite bath, didn't have an en suite bath, right? And then it has the door to the outside. We're still going to go upstairs here, guys. Now there's more up here. The upstairs is a little bit unique on this one. I remember you have a good size landing space. I like what they've done to utilize this as an office. So now you don't need an office. You got it here. And again, we're sticking with the Sapele and the book matching on that really unique fabric wallpaper. I like it. So first I'm going to walk straight through here. Now the one thing I would do differently, this is one of the things that kind of threw me a little bit on this floor plan, but I just think it needs a small change. You have a closet right here and the single panel door. And then you have a sideboard set up right here. Okay. Put a dresser sideboard. And you have a closet. Then you have a door right here going into this bedroom, really good size on the bedroom with another closet over here. And then basically a junior primary suite. So the thing I would do, I'd probably just remove this door, keep that door. I'd put a door right here now for showings and stuff. I think they want it more open, but I mean, just after it was all done, I would finish it out. So this is the door, remove this door and it makes a really, it's a different floor plan. I get it, but it makes it really cool. So then you have more closet space. We have a queen size bed here. We could easily fit a queen, a King. And then I got to tell you that like the length of this room is bigger than two of those beds. You can put another bed on this wall and still have space in between. So good size room. A lot of these rooms are pretty big. We transitioned from what I think is a luxury vinyl floor to a tile floor, just a little bit of texture, but a nice look on there. Again, consistently the floating cabinets with the lights underneath, quartz countertop, dual base and absolutely huge mirror that we got here, guys, toilet in the corner. This is the first time we haven't had a zero threshold. We have a little curb over there for the shower. I wonder if that's because it's upstairs. I don't know. Nice Schluter all the way around, even on that curb as well. I'm digging the tile. Small thing, this is a different tile here than right here, which is different from that. So I would probably just want that a little bit consistent, but we're really getting it picking really good texture on this. Oh, it feels wonderful. Tile all the way up to the ceiling, brushed nickel on our fixtures there. So we had our primary, we had that bedroom that went outside. We have this bedroom, so that's three. And then over here, bedroom number four with an en suite here. So all the bedrooms on this four bedroom floor plan had en suite bathrooms. That's pretty spectacular. Bookmatched again, floating cabinets, quartz countertops, big mirror, toilet, curb on the shower, a single tile, single style of tile all the way around on the sides there with your smaller floor tile that you have there. Perfectly appropriate. And two different closets here. Cool. I haven't seen that before. Again, 10 foot ceilings here upstairs, guys, that is pretty rare. I got to say, I'm pretty impressed with the fact that you have 10 foot upstairs and 10 foot downstairs. So you got a double closet here and then room for a dresser. Absolutely huge dresser. That's like over five feet tall or about five feet tall. Yeah, close to it. So you got a lot of storage space when you put it all together. Good size room here. Once again, you could fit a full king in here if you wanted to. Lots of space. I know you want to check out the backyard. I'll tell you favorite thing. Number three for me is the backyard. So this one has a little splash pool in it, which I think you guys are going to like. I would spend almost all my time right downstairs just for me. Like you could just chop off. I don't have kids. It's just Lisa and I, you could chop off the upstairs and this downstairs would be absolutely perfect for me. Oh, it's locked. I think, or is this one locked? Now I got to figure out how to unlock it. And there we go. That wasn't hard. So first you're greeted by the sound. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 fountains streaming in over there. Large cover, the nice ceiling treatment, recess lights, ceiling fan, the skirt shutter thing. Someone's going to tell me what that's called. Really well done over here. Some native plants. They've done a good job with the native plants guys. Cheers. I'll give you guys tip of the cap on that one. And then the pool with the spa hot tub that spills over the blue tile. Really, really cool. Large, large stained concrete decking out here. Plenty of grass. If you got the pups or whatever, kind of nice, but not too much to have to take care of. Got some heliconias coming in over here. I might change those out. I've owned those before and they can, they can get pretty thick. I might do something a little bit different here, but they're really beautiful. A lot of people like them. It might just be personal preference. And then this large partially covered pergola gazebo thing, outdoor area with the coyote egg in here for our, for our cook. So I have to tell you, this takes me back. I was raised by my grandparents for a number of years. And my grandfather came back from the Philippines and Thailand, the Vietnam era. And maybe we called it a hibachi actually back then. I don't know if that was proper, but it was this big green thing. We're talking 1974 to 1980. And that's what my grandpa would grill on was one of these things. It wasn't until much later in life that I saw what you and I typically refer to as a grill. So it's kind of funny that those have made a comeback for me. That was just the way it was growing up. Love this kind of plank. So that's the kind of stuff for me that I would put over here. Much easier to maintain. Beautiful look. Good job either way though. We got our, looks like two foot by two foot basalt tile along the back here. Really nicely done. And they've added some, I think we call those money trees right there. Those will get nice and full and be a good break of the wind that comes from that direction. Steps up in here to the hot tub with the fountain. Oh, we got our quartz plaster on this one. Really well done. Again, you could fit five, six people on either side. Yeah, you could have a big party in this thing. And then I like the kind of the infinity edge on the spot. You don't really see that, that big of a spillway. That is super uncommon. And then one, two, three, four, five there. Really cool. I call it a splash pool. I got to take it back guys. This is a pool. You know, you're not doing laps. There's only a few of us that swim and want to do laps. But that's a pretty good pool. I really like the backyard. I really like the primary bedroom. I really like the main living space. This is my favorite one. I'm curious as to what you guys think as you've seen all four of these, check it out. So just so you know, if you're ever, this one took a minute for me and then you pop it open. Really curious to what you guys think. I just absolutely love how this thing lives out. If I was designing a home for just Lisa and I, it wouldn't be all that different from the downstairs of this. It would be pretty similar to this. Just, we wouldn't need all the space of the upstairs. But this is really cool. I may put one room up there for an office or something or a room onto the side for something like that. But this is a really cool floor plan. I hope you like it.
