Goat Lake Magic | North Cascades, Washington
#goatlake #goat #northcascades #stunningnature
The hike to Goat Lake near Darrington is a classic Pacific Northwest adventure. The trail climbs gradually alongside thundering Elliott Creek to the striking turquoise waters of Goat Lake, fed by snowfields and glaciers beneath towering Cadet Peak. Along the way, the spectacular 266-foot Mackintosh Falls crashes over dark volcanic cliffs, adding to the dramatic atmosphere. Current trail conditions are difficult, however, due to extensive blowdowns. Glacier-fed turquoise waters, towering cliffs, old-growth forests, and roaring waterfalls all come together in one of Washington’s most scenic mountain hikes.
