Mount Daniel rises along the Cascade Crest in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. At nearly 8,000 feet, it is the highest point in both King and Kittitas Counties and lies about 1.3 miles south of Dip Top Peak.
Below it, Pea Soup Lake fills a depression at the foot of the Lynch Glacier, in a basin shaped by glacial scouring.
In this video, we hike to Marmot Lake, continue to Jade Lake and Dip Top Gap, then make our way to the outflow of Pea Soup Lake before scrambling to the summit of Dip Top Peak.
This is a landscape that is still being shaped. Go carefully, leave no trace, and become one with the wilderness.
