A couple visits Busch Gardens Tampa over two trips to experience its world-class roller coasters and wildlife. They tackle high-intensity rides like Iron Gwazi and Cheetah Hunt, explore various animal exhibits, and sample a range of park dining, returning a second time to ensure they experience the top-rated Montu coaster.
Hello everyone!
We are on a new adventure today.
We are here at Bush Gardens in Tampa. Yeah our second time ever here and but the first time
Andrew's gonna do some coasters. Our previous time she wasn't keen on the coasters that they
had but now she thinks she could do them all. Yeah so Andy was able to go on one or two but
it was really crowded that day so it doesn't look that bad today. So we're gonna show you
some rides, food, and then they go up the hill. And this ride, whatever it's called,
we're not really sure but I think first I want to go do one of my top 10 coasters that's been
top 10 for years, Montu. So we want to go do that first and then we'll keep showing you around. Yeah
and we'll be bringing you along with this lovely little wrist strap and then Andy is going to have
his glasses on so you're going to get vertical and horizontal so we're excited. Come along with
us. We're super excited. All new coasters. We've done a lot of the same coasters like the last
year or so. These are going to be all new. Oh like SeaWorld, Coaster Coffee Co. Man,
the smell coming out of here. All right this must be the new one. Iron Guazi. All right,
holy cow. That's what we're in store for. All right. Good thing Andrea's not seeing this.
It's right there. I just said good thing you're not seeing the little model. What?
What? Oh boy. Look out. Look at the guy over here. Holy cow. Wow. Do not enter.
Dangerous animals. Hitchcock would be proud. Sorry, I'm watching way too many Adam LeWu videos.
Oh my gosh. Look at these guys.
Hey friend. Oh my god. Very cute. Looks like he's exercising. Kind of like lower lying.
We will definitely have to do this coaster. The Cheetah. Wow.
It's like a figure eight up there. All right, sign us up. I think we found lunch
after a couple coasters. Look how fancy that looks. And the funny thing is it's called the
giraffe bar and it's tall. Yeah, it's like a homestead or something. But here's one thing we
came for but I haven't seen it go lately. It better not be down. Oh, it might be down. No.
Well, we'll find out. I see little barriers. Oh yeah. No. Cobra's curse.
Cobra's curse. This one it's not open. Okay, well this one you'll see right up here.
It takes you up like a little elevator and then it connects you to the track.
Oh, I see. Yeah. And that's how it starts. So that's pretty cool.
But neither of these two look like they're going at the moment. And oh no, this is a top 10 coaster
for me. Not operating today. Oh my gosh. Wah wah. All right. Okay, so sadly the one big coaster I
came for is not operating today. But Cheetah Hunt, we just showed you that. So let's go do it. It
says five minute wait. This does look amazing. And look, it looks like a little cheetah, the car.
Oh yeah. Looks just like a cheetah. Holy moly.
Okay, out here we do have their little safari. It started to pour on us when we came in.
But there's a giraffe way off in the distance. But here is our food. We have a cheese pizza for Andrea.
Meatball sub. See how that is. And we have some fries. So we'll see how this is. We'll hope the
rain goes away and get some more coasters. Yeah, but what good timing is it that it started raining
when we were inside getting food. That was good timing. All right, as you saw from what it looked
like, it has been sitting a long, long time. However, meatball is really good flavor. This
one fell out. It's a good thing it landed in the tray. Meatball is good. It's honestly just fuel.
The pizza is just very bold and bland. But the fries have a good flavor. It looks like it's
stopping raining so we could go on to another coaster. And I see the zebras on the move.
Fries are good. I feel like he thinks we can't see him.
If he doesn't move. But that guy is like staring us down.
Staring us down.
Yeah, we see you. Good try though.
Real quick, we really didn't break down Cheetah Hunt. But my goodness, that was a fun ride.
It was three launches. So as I was telling Andy, it has everything. It has speed with speed changes,
hills and turns. And three launches. Let's not forget that. Yeah, that's so very good ride.
Definitely that's moving up on our top 10 maybe. So all right. Onward. A lot of coasters are down
today. So we're gonna have to see what we could get here. Hopefully we could show you some more.
So if anything, we might be showing you the back row of Cheetah Hunt.
Iron Gwazi. Oh boy. Iron Gwazi to the right. Tigris. Don't know what that is. So if we could
get those two, that would be two more new ones. Montu's down all day sadly. That'd be two
brand new ones for us. But Iron Gwazi looks intense. It talks about a 91 degree drop in 200 feet.
So I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet. That might have to be the very last one we do in case
And it's supposed to be beer and wine festival or wine and food or something,
but I'm not seeing any of that. So maybe it doesn't start till like 5 p.m.
Oh, and it's not today at all probably. I think SeaWorlds is on the weekend. Friday,
Saturday, Sunday. We may need to come back here. I walked by the sign and it's like holy cow.
Old-fashioned banana split. That looks amazing. That really looks good. Wow.
Let us know if you've tried any of these. Lovely, lovely. Should do this to our front yarn.
So it's got the clickety clackety lift hill. I'm surprised for a 200 foot lift hill.
Oh, it's giving me Millennium Force anxiety. Or like Magnum XL 200. Wow, that's tall.
Okay, so this is a hybrid steel, steel wood. A little Iron Gwazi.
200 feet, 90 degree drop.
Oh, well, I guess it doesn't look too bad. I've been on Millennium Force before and that was 310
going 92 miles an hour. Oh. So this area, correct me if I'm wrong in the comments,
looks like back in the day when Anheuser-Busch owned Busch Gardens. This was like the hospitality
house where you could get the two free beers per person. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this looks
like that's what it was. Hospitality house years ago. Don't know what it is now. Oh,
Springs Taproom it says. Oh, big coaster. We may walk over there. Holy moly, kangaroos.
Look at these guys. They're everywhere. Hey, buddy. Back feet were huge. Yeah, look at this guy.
Kangaroo crossing. Oh, it's like a baby one here. Look at that little guy.
All right, I think this is like Lorelei. She's scratching to get into a certain spot.
Flamingos a-plunking. Feet of flamingo.
All right, that's tall. I'm thinking of this one. Oh my god, it's really hot. Okay, it stops you,
dangles you over the edge, and she grow. This is so wild. Tall, tall, tall.
It does go up to down, and here it is again. Oh, that felt nice. All right, here's the entrance.
It's a 10-minute wait. Andrea's debating. She's talking with the lady here about the ride.
Andrea's on the fence, but I'm going. Gonna get some footage. She grow. 10 minutes. Let's do it.
Pulling your harness down to your waist and buckling your safety belt.
Let's do it one more time.
Andrea did it. All right, I have to admit that was not bad at all.
She got arrested. I did it. It was good.
All right, we just rode it. She wasn't sure about it. A worker told her to do it. I don't feel good.
Well, worker said she would be fine. She was right. And she said I would want to do it again,
and guess what? I want to do it again. So you'll see the footage. It was weird, wild. Hopefully,
it was okay. I was like moving my arm around trying to figure out how to hold on, but also
show the footage. Yeah, the angle of where she had to grip, it kind of put the camera tilted upward,
and there was nothing really she could do, but I do have the vertical on the Ray-Ban.
Now that I saw that once we got to the second dive drop, I was more comfortable, so I let my hand off
the grip, and then I just had it floating. All right, and our friend was right. It was fine.
Yes, she helped me get on. She gets the assist. Yes, I did have a good day.
All right, here's Tigress. This one's our next victim. This looks wild.
Tigress. Oh, I see.
Oh, it's one of those. All right, well, these aren't bad,
but then the crazy thing is here it goes around so slow. All right, well, it's not bad.
All right, we'll show you. Oh, boy.
All right, this is Tigress. So, we could only do a new coaster once. This is our third new coaster.
Here we go. All right, Tigress. Here we go. Tigress. Oh, my gosh.
Oh, boy. Oh, God. All right, we did it. We did it. We did it.
All right, not bad. We're done. I think we did it.
Okay, so first off, I kind of lost control of my arm for the wrist mount when I was trying to flip
around the Showa, so you may have lost your view, but I did not like that. It was a bit wild.
So, the starting off and then going backwards was okay, but it was kind of rough going around
the turn and then that slow roll. It was just, I didn't like it. The slow roll was actually the
hardest part for me, but it's okay. We're going to head for our fourth new one now. Fourth new
coaster in the day. So, all I gotta say is I'm glad we didn't end with this one because I think
this is going to be our least favorite. All right, let's go get this other. First time on the train
here at Busch Gardens. Yeah, I just rode Sheikra. Incredible. Now, this blue and red
is Sheikra. No, not Shakira. That's the same Sheikra. That's what I was saying.
Sheikra takes riders up to a height of 200 feet, the height of a 21-story building.
Pulls you above the vertical drop long enough for you to realize why you got on it in the first place
and proceeds to drop you face first. 200 feet. The height of a 28-story building.
Once you reach the top, your seats will be pulled in 90 degrees, so you're looking straight down
below you, and the ride will then proceed to drop you face first. The first time I went on it,
it was utterly terrifying. The second time I went on it, it wasn't that bad. If you're a friend,
adults don't know who this friend is. His name is Jack Daniels.
Oh, there's his dog.
Our train guy is giving us hello as well.
Also, coming up on our left here, after this small bridge that we're going over,
is the Niala Enclosure, the Bird Garden,
Sesame Street. You can actually see it now. Also, the Moroccan Palace Theater,
Pamela Bauer Ice Show, the Rhythms of Nature. If you're traveling with small children,
please take them by the hand so you don't get lost in the crowd, and if you're traveling with
a boy or girl child, she's your favorite one. If you guys have enjoyed the ride,
the name is Mark. If not, I was never here.
Really close. If you are staying on board back to Stanleyville, please use the right-hand side
of the train. Please do not step off, swing off, or jump off the left-hand side.
It was pretty good in the back.
It is time for getting on. Look at this guy.
And it is a $4. We had to get a locker for everything.
This one may be the wildest.
That was wild stuff. All right, well this concludes the coasters for the day.
Saved the wildest one for last.
Well, there's our first ride. Maybe we get the barcode later.
That thing's wild. It's not my favorite. Not my favorite. It's all right.
I don't know. I just thought the turns and like the upside downs weren't jerky or anything.
Yeah, it's smooth. Just not my favorite type of coaster. Oh, here's a gift shop.
And Guazi shirts. Oh, now this is cool. That's like a... is that a pool shirt or a sun shirt?
I know it's tech, but is it like sunscreen?
It's cool. Whatever it is.
All right, real quick update. So this is a week later. We didn't see that Montu was running,
so we came back. We want to show you Montu and maybe show you another little lunch spot.
But yeah, Montu, very excited.
So early 2000s, Discovery Channel did a top 10 coasters and it was a top 10 coaster.
All right, Montu coaster.
All right, we picked up our lunch here at Zambia Smokehouse, which is right next to Shikra.
So I got myself a chicken wrap with some lovely looking grapes. And he went with the, of course,
St. Louis and got the St. Louis ribs and seasoned fries. And the fries are really good. I already
got into one. They do look good. Oh, wait, I'm going to try a fry. They're seasoned well and
they're hot. It's like it's 2.30. It's... Oh, yeah, they are hot. And I think they're really good.
It's a good fry. But we're going to split the ribs. And split the wrap.
All right, the fry was good. I'm going to get into a rib. They said they're called
sweet pink because they're a smoking process.
That's good. And you got some sweet baby rays barbecue. A little sweet baby rays.
Ribs, he's a happy boy. It's good.
All right, everybody's about to get into this chicken wrap. So that actually looked decent.
All right, Shikra must be right over us. That was all lettuce. They're wrong. All lettuce.
Okay, yeah, I'm still saying the rib is good. And I have a little stout to go with it. This
one's from a different spot. Spring's tap outs. Yep.
Maybe better than what we've tried here so far. Like last week. Yeah, it's still good. It's just
a little dry. You can do some like dressing or something. Oh, well, they did have Ken's ranch
up there. Oh, go grab a ranch. It's like right there. Yeah. The beer.
It's a stout, kind of a hoppy stout. But not bad at all. But yeah, we are going to dig in here.
We're going to dig in. Ribs are good. She gets half of that. So win win. All right, get ranch.
We are on our way to ride Kumba for the first time. And we came across this little guy just
chilling here in the water watching the waterfall on this nice hot day.
Hi friend. Oh boy. We're this way.
So
push your head
for the first time. It's wild. I was shaking all over the place. I don't need anything. I hit my
ears like three or four times and that's even keeping my head back. So yeah, I had my head
pressed to the back and that did help. So I recommend that for this ride. Yeah, but still
with my head going back, it was like to the back. Yeah, it's wild. All right. Yeah. If I can do this
but no time soon. I mean, not today. But yeah.
So
Phoenix Rising is considered a family coaster. So there's no inversion. There's no inversion.
You kind of go off to the side like you're going to go up to that, but you don't.
It was actually exhilarating and pretty fun. Yeah, I liked it. Fun ride. Yeah. So this was yet
another new one for us here at Busch Gardens. Seven now. So we're showing a lot of coasters
today. We're going to miss one or two. And the little scenes of the phoenix and the
whatever the sound was it made. Pretty cool. Yep. And we have found the backside of the elephant.
And then check this out. It's got like these little skyliner looking things that look a bit
creepy, a bit shady. But we have this little guy here and then Cheetah Hunt is right over there.
We're maybe making a leap. Okay, these are much needed. And I got a mixture of raspberry
wild cherry and lemonade. I just have raspberry and wild cherry and it is delightful. Yeah,
so we did get a lot accomplished today. We had five coasters, four new ones, one repeat on the
new one. So you'll see all that footage. Hopefully you enjoyed that. The last one, a lot of people
said that's their favorite in the park. I wasn't such a fan. I may not go on that one again. It
was okay. I don't know. Guazi, it's okay. But yeah, the first one I think that we rode twice,
the cheetah, that's my favorite. Cheetah Hunt and oh my gosh, Cheetah Hunt, SheGrow was good.
The other one, Tigress. Tigress, yeah, not so much. We didn't care. Probably wouldn't do that
one again. Yeah, I would do Iron Guazi again though. Oh yeah. Well, I guess I would if you
all right. Well, thanks for coming with us. We will see you on our next adventure. Cheers.
