The Way Home: Jeremy's Story of Facing Trauma

“This is my third time here… and this time, I finally faced my trauma.”

Jeremy shares his powerful journey through addiction, loneliness, and self-hatred — and how counseling, community, and the support of Union Rescue Mission's men's recovery program helped him begin to heal from the inside out.

Through a partnership with Pepperdine University, Jeremy was able to receive counseling that changed his life. For the first time, he learned how to confront the pain he had been carrying for years and rediscover the person he was created to be. Today, Jeremy says he can finally look in the mirror and see light instead of darkness. “The way home for me is more than a house. It’s being at peace.”

Stories like Jeremy’s remind us that healing is possible, hope is real, and no one is beyond restoration.
